The only painted portions of the cars that surround the interior are the roof and doors. These panels are also insulated.
I would guess that at least 90% of the interior heat is a result of solar radiation through the windows. The same insulation holds this heat in. Black interiors will absorb more of the radiation. Paint color has very little to do with it. Obviously no scientific thought has gone into this. My '69 Chevy pickup is cooler inside after sitting in the sun for an hour than any new car on the face of the planet. |

I will say this: CA has its issues... Most of them caused by political hacks that can't leave well enough alone. They MUST come up with wierd shit so they can justify their existance. If CARB didn't do this, then the question would be raised, "what is left for them to do?"
Yea, right. As for drivers? CA drivers are good. If you want bad, go to Miami. Those people there are dangerious. Road markings are merely a suggestion... speedlimits are ignored... no one signals... no inspections or drivers education - OF ANY KIND. It's anarchy on the highways. |
