Howdy! Gonna putz with the mower engine today, since the yard is growing like mad with all the rain we had during the week. Then out to dinner with some friends later. Tomorrow night we're going to see The Who - my son had given me tickets last year, and they postponed the tour due to Roger Daltrey's illness. Should be fun - I last saw them live in 1971. I think Boston is coming through here too at some point, may have to go see them too. Ahhh, for the days of cranking the 8-track up to 11.

Have fun at the party, Matt!

Have a good day, yawlz!

Rain and more rain.......bring it is what I say......we did get the acreage mowed yesterday before it started.....2 50" mowers going can buzz cut the tall grass in short order.....glad we did too with all the rain last night and for the next 2 days.

Uwoman is up in Washington helping #1 daughter move into her new home.....I think I told you she got a new job with Amazon over in the Southwest part of the State. Signing bonus and good sized raise over the company she was with. Amazon pays for her move and pays for her family to come up and help also.....amazing.....er Amazoning I mean....

Today is work on GS day to get a bit more noise reduction into the cabin. I am going down to get the material in a bit......I am looking forward to a day in the warm shop working on baby.........with no distractions.....I hope....

Have a fun day Matt with the family and the party......it's all good!

Tom......I am sure there are Plumbing anger management classes on line you can participate in......but first we must go back and find out where these feelings stem from.......feel free to share with the Guru's your pain on how it all started.......

Have a wet and wonderful day Guru's.....

Gris that looks like a good deal.....but I would rather have the hidden door in the back of the closet that opens up into the armory........uh huh uh huh....

We went to see BOSTON last night courtesy of my FIL. He won a couple of tickets and we took them off his hands. Went to Seminole Hard Rock to see them but didn't do any gambling. Just went for the concert. I was hungry so I ate a lot of stadium fare. Pepperoni pizza, hot pretzel, hot dog and a large soda. Later Sue picked up some M&Ms and had water and popcorn. Auction tonight but I think I'll pass. Sue might go with her gf. (Quiet house night, maybe) The concert was top notch. Tight band that played almost all the classics and a couple of new ones. Recommended if they're coming to your neck of the woods.

Thanks for asking. She's unstoppable. The first day she was back to work. Her right leg (burn foot leg) fell through part of a rotted wood deck and she scraped up the inside lower leg. Keeps on ticking. She's one tough broad. I mean it. She's a tough cookie.

Morning guys....Crisp here this morning after the nice rains yesterday. We also had about 2 1/2" of rain.

The plumbing issue isn't a critical one, Matt. The main valve of the sprinkler system is leaking a little bit through the self-draining weep hole. Less leakage if the valve is in the off position, so it is turned off but is still filling up the access tube to the valve. I'll get to it one day when it warms up. I just hate f*#king plumbing.

Not much planned for today. Rosie has a baby shower to go to. I think I'll go out to the shop and work on the butcher block top I'm building for a client.

Good Morning CGs!

Well, it's D-day. Or C-Day? Girls are out getting prettied up at the hair salon. They should be home soon. Suit is steamed and my shirt is ironed, I just have to polish my shoes and I'm good to go. Everything is set at the restaurant for afterwards. Wife dropped off flowers, cake, pretzels, goodie bags, and misc items yesterday and they looked like they didn't know what was about to hit them. They don't

Ordered my new Eastwood underhood light yesterday. One month backorder! Apparently they sold better than anticipated. I checked out my buddy's while I was at his shop last night (I told him about it a month ago and he ended up buying one at the local Eastwood store). It's nice. Looking forward to getting it. I also bought another ratchet that should be here next week. It's ok, I had a little extra spending cash in my tool fund.

http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-prof ... al-folding-led-light.html

Marcus - glad UB's friend is getting better. And it sounds like the new place for mom is good. We are really happy with dad's place. All of the employees really go out of their way to help. It also seems more like a dorm setup than a hospital setup, so that helps with the ambiance.

Tommy - how is the wife doing?

TB - finish the plumbing?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I'm in Montclair, not too far away. The DTC 65 is a "Cable Adjuster Circuit Malfunction" I suppose a mechanical failure in the servo could cause a short in the electrical?
The first part of the trouble shooting flow chart requires that the cable adjuster assembly be rotated by hand without any cables attached and allowed to return to the stop. Mine doesn't return to the stop, made me think there is a recoil spring in the servo??

It is good to see the site back up, tried off and on all day. It's been raining here all day. We've had over two inches today. Perfect weather as far as I am concerned. Finally we are not so dry.

Rosie and I helped out with the fifth grade "Pioneer Day" at the local museum. Rosie helped with the "tin punch" and I gave a little demonstration on old time woodworking, read that hand tools. I even let each student bore a hole in their own little piece of wood with a brace and bit. I made it educational....you know, the teacher in me hasn't left yet.

Yup, first communions are a big deal. Good to hear Marcus. Are you bringing them up there, or is this a different place in Kansas? Hope the good news continues for Uboys' friend. Gris, that is some big time hail.

Howdy! I tried to check in several times earlier, but the casters were always pointing skyward. Glad it is Friday.

Big day indeed for your young'n, Matt! And that sounds like some good news, Marcus.

Enjoy the weekend, Gurus!

that sounds like a bad servo... most odd, because these things are very durable. what you are describing is mechanical in nature, not signal related.

I don't have a spare, but you might find one at Vette2Vette.com for a fair price.

Where in SoCal are you? There is a guy in Van Nuys area that has a Corvette salvage...

Hey the Guru is back.......where did it go?

Big doings in your world matt......enjoy the family.....and I also know about the peace of mind when your people are being well tended to....

I got back late from seeing Mom last night.....she was much better physically and mentally. We actually talked politics which she was fired up to do....old school conservative republicans they are.....

I will be moving them to another facility in town when their new rooms are ready. Got all the evaluations done and the place and people checked out to my satisfaction and asked some tuff questions and they had the right answers......it will be half what they are spending now which is around 12K per month.......which is ridiculous........I like the new place....very sunny and bright and the workers are all easy to talk to and get along with.......makes me feel better that we are on a new track and heading in a good direction...

Uboys roomy was awake today and does have hand movement and he said he can move his toes but that has not been official yet......still waiting and praying for his complete recovery......him and his twin brother are the good kids of today.....love their country and are not screw ups......more as it develops........

Good night Guru's.....

Im trying to find a solution to my Module 9 Code 65. The first step is to disconnect ASR servo pigtail, second disconnect "All Cables from cable adjuster, rotate cable adjuster cams fully and release to stop. When I do Nada! it dosen't return to stop? Ive checked the wiring harness form front to back and haven't found any visually broken or bad connections, so Im looking at a bad servo or replacing the EBCM? anybady got a spare one to try out?

Good Morning CGs!

Does anyone have the number to a plumber? Apparently TB is having some issues

Weather turned to crap here. 80 and sunny went to 50s and rain. Saaaaahweet. I just want some consistency and a little sun.

Tomorrow is the big day for RR#1. She is making her first communion in the morning. After that we are having a shin-dig at an Italian restaurant with about 45-50 people. It will be a good time. We picked that place because the food is fantastic. Family coming in from out of town and everything.

Went and visited dad for a couple of hours yesterday. He did know it was me so that's a good thing, but was in his own world for a bit. The staff seems to take good care of the residents, though, so that is reassuring. I spoke to several of the aides while I was there and they all seemed genuine and helpful. I like that. Makes it easier for us mentally/emotionally.

Hope everyone has a great day! Happy Friday!

Matthew

The following is a response cited from another forum. May not be relevant to the question posed by the OP:

"Created by Bosch and called ASR (Acceleration Slip Regulation) by Chevrolet, it automatically comes on when the car is started, but can be switched off by a button above the headlight control -- showing a welcome sense of respect for the serious driver.

Using the wheel-speed sensors of the Bosch ABS system, ASR can cut engine torque by retarding spark and reducing the throttle. It can also simultaneously apply the rear brakes independently of one another to slow the slipping drive wheels to the point of traction. Some wheel-spin is allowed -- more if the ABS's lateral accelerometer determines you are traveling in a straight line -- but when you exit a corner and decide to hit the accelerator hard for some fun, the ASR slaps your right foot as if it were the hand of a little kid who's dipping into a cookie jar. A cam arrangement causes the accelerator pedal to literally pulse back at the driver. When ASR functions, often on occasions when you feel as if you are not driving aggressively at all, a light appears on the center console's warning screen.

With ASR on, dry acceleration times to 60 mph were hurt by half a second, but there is no doubt that if the surface was wet, ASR times would make unassisted times look positively amateurish. This added feature makes the 1992 LT1 the first all-weather Corvette."

Man, it's been one heck of a day, it sounds like.

I got the kitchen and bathroom cabinets installed. I'm sure glad that I bought that laser level a couple weeks back, that SOB saves a sh!tload of time.

Sorry to hear of all the woes out there. I have one too, but it's nothing.....just a f*#king plumbing issue. I have ever told you guys that I hate f*#king plumbing? yea, I think I have.

I thought it was a motor like Andy said. But I've never had one apart. It does have an electrical connection, doesn't it?

I could've used the dump truck-size jar on my way home tonight - the freeways are overrun with morons. And then you stop and think that these people also vote and procreate.

that's a good question... I always thought the motor drove it internally... but a spring does make sense.

I have never taken one apart, nor have I had the need.

Is your's not working?

Does the ASR servo on a 96 LT-1 have a recoil spring that returns it to stop?

Tommy sounds like me - I'd need a dump truck as a swear jar here lately. Sorry to hear about the burn tho - that would make me drop a few f bombs myself. Did just that a couple weeks ago from being burned on my hand. BF was 'helping me' with steaks, he took them out of the oven to see that they were done enough. He was trying to cut one and the pan was wiggling. I was distracted by the other 47 things I was trying to do at once and grabbed the handle firmly of said hot pan to hold it still. Turned my hand white and could not fully open it. Can't recall in the last few years when I've hurt that badly. Warm water to temper it for about 20 minutes and then aloe and then he tried a 'burn pack' he got from his first aid kit. That crap made it worse. Felt like a constant fire held to my hand. Neosporin and a loose gauze did best and within about four hours hurting stopped. Blisters came and went, healing fine now. Cuss I did. A lot. And cried. Cried so hard snot came out my nose. That's some hard crying right there. Then he didn't want to eat as he was worried about me so I got mad and cussed more and told him to eat his f-n dinner as I didn't get hurt for nothing. men lol
Hope you get the care facility issues handled Marucs, I know first hand how much a pain those can be. Prayers for the son's roommate as well. I think I have all kinds of things to whine about until I see a story like that.
One more day at the grindstone and it's the weekend. It's a beautiful day here, wish I was off.

I think the f bombs would consume more than my monthly income. Who would pay the bills? lol. Mostly I say them out loud when I'm by myself. I don't swear a lot when talking with others. Then I use selective swearing for emphasis. I do find myself talking more and out loud to nobody. It's sort of an expression therapy.

Sheesh, never boring indeed - hope she is better soon! Maybe you should get a swear jar - then drop a buck in there every time an f-bomb is let loose. Pretty soon you'd be able to turn that jar of cash into one of these:

Very true. I sometimes (always) let the little $#!+ get in my way when in actuality they are just little inconveniences.

Speaking of inconveniences, Sue once again disregarded my banning of her cooking on high temperatures which resulted in a smoking pan of butter. She got distracted by a business email she wanted me to read to her, a rather lengthy one. Next thing you know there was smoke. She went in, grabbed the pan and went to run out the front door with it. Schatzie tripped her up trying to beat her out the door which resulted in her dropping the pan and splattering the boiling butter on her right foot. This happened around 09:00 PM after we had just got home from loading her truck and trailer at the nursery. Course she was just finishing up a 14 hour day and I was working later than I care to myself. After a phone call to her emergency physician friend and instead of heading to an Urgent Care center, she decided to ask the pharmacists what they recommended. Both said Solarcaine with aloe at the same time. The doctor suggested silvadene which she would have had to be seen by a doctor to get prescribed. This morning being distracted by her pain she forgot to bring the 2 chainsaws she needed. That resulted in me having to drive a 2 1/2 round trip to get the saws to her and her crew. But, who am I to bitch. She always tells me I'm grumpy because I drop the f bomb several times a night in reaction to disturbances in the force which she creates. I told her don't be so sensitive. I drop the f bomb many, many times a day. WTF's, m'er f'ers, f'n f and the list goes on. Matter of fact I'm well over 20 times already day. Most of them on my hour and a half drive north. But c'est la vie. It's just another f'n day ..... Nothing compared to the suffering many will have to endure today......... F it. It's time to get back to work .....

Never bored ...

Morning guys....I've been to the 'city' and back already and got one wall of cabinets hung this morning. I hope you can get some things squared away with the long term care place Marcus. And I hope and pray that the young man comes out Ok from his injuries.

Speaking of weather, it's freaking chilly this morning here. Low 40's and doesn't seem to be headed upward at all. The breeze makes it feel even colder. Glad I'm not out in it today.

Well, headed back to the jobsite, I forgot one of my levels and needed to come home and get it....and a fresh cup of coffee. Later guys.

Howdy! More drizzle and gloom today, getting tiresome. They're saying it will be sunny on Friday - I'll believe it when I see it.

Mojo indeed for the young man - all the best!

Have a good one, Gurus!

SUNNY AND COOL IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, IT'S MAKING THE CHEROKEES SMILE.

I'M OFF TO THE RIFLE RANGE THIS MORNING, TO FAYETTEVILLE THIS EVENING TO WATCH #2 GRANDDAUGHTER'S SOCCER GAME.

TRAINING ACCIDENTS CAN BE REALLY BAD NEWS, ESPECIALLY IN ARMOR & MECH OUTFITS. WAR IS A DANGEROUS GAME, EVEN IF IT'S NOT REAL.

Morning Guru's.....heading to Kansas this rainy day to try and work some things out with the long term care folks......I'd rather someone beat my with a large log.......

Need some prayers and mojo's for Uboys roommate and best friend who was seriously injured on a National Guard training maneuver yesterday.....He is in a medically induced coma after having surgery for a severely injured spinal column. They do not know if he will be paralyzed or not at this point..... I was over with Uboy and his buds yesterday just to be with him.

The kids parents are flying out this morning to be with him.......once again I am reminded that I have no real problems......

Have a safe day Guru's....

Interesting that not a word was mentioned at Long Beach about this potentially being win #100... hm... Doug is holding out on us.

As usual, Charley! Great stuff and THANK YOU!!!

CORVETTE RACING AT MONTEREY: Strong History at Laguna Seca
Seven class victories and three wins in last four seasons at Monterey

• Gavin, Milner enter with GTLM points lead, Rolex and Sebring wins
• Garcia, Magnussen went back-to-back in 2013-14
• Corvette Racing with 99 victories in program history

DETROIT (April 27, 2016) – Corvette Racing will wrap up its two-race swing on the West Coast at one of its most successful venues – Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for a two-hour sprint race near the Monterey coast. The Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix presented by Mazda is the team’s third race of the season and last before the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

A victory Sunday would be Corvette Racing’s eighth at the 2.238-mile, 11-turn circuit on the Monterey Peninsula and fourth in five seasons. Four different models of Corvette have won races there including the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R that won in 2013 and 2014.

Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner, drivers of the No. 4 Corvette C7.R, were winners in the 2012 race in the previous-generation Corvette C6.R. The pairing is the hottest driver in the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship. They opened the season with victories in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

They seemed on their way to a victory two weeks ago at Long Beach – which would have been No. 100 for Corvette Racing – before another GTLM competitor knocked Milner from the lead with two minutes left. He and Gavin still managed to place second and lead the class Driver’s Championship by 18 points, while Chevrolet leads the Manufacturer Championship by five points.

Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen in the No. 3 Corvette C7.R won in 2013 and 2014 at Laguna Seca. They are looking to end a string of bad luck that resulted in ninth-place finishes in their last two events. They were runners-up to the No. 4 Corvette at Daytona.

The Continental Tire Grand Prix of Monterey for GTLM and Prototype entries is set for 11:15 a.m. PT on Sunday. It will air live on FOX Sports 1 with audio coverage from IMSA Radio is available on IMSA.com.

Corvette Racing Display on Location in Monterey
Corvette Racing fans will have plenty to see and do at Laguna Seca. In addition to the on-track activity for Corvette Racing and Corvette Daytona Prototypes, the Corvette Racing Display will be open starting Friday morning. Fans can learn all they need to know about Chevrolet and see a number of Chevy attractions:

• Award-winning Chevrolet 2016 production vehicles such as the Colorado Diesel – the 2016 Motor Trend Truck of the Year – and the Camaro – the 2016 Motor Trend Car of the Year
• Additional Chevrolet vehicles including Silverado HD, Malibu, Cruze, Equinox and Corvette Stingray
• A Corvette C7.R show car
• Samples of Chevrolet engines, performance parts and accessories available to fans for purchase from their local Chevrolet dealer
• A variety of Chevrolet and racing related activities for adults and kids
• Commemorative t-shirts for fans who sign up with Corvette Racing.

The Corvette Racing display opens at 8 a.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “Jan and I are in a similar situation as when we arrived at Laguna Seca in 2013. We had a fast Corvette and were in contention during a number of races prior, but we finally broke through for our first win together in Monterey. It was a great race and very satisfying. We arrive again looking to turn around our fortunes. We’ve led every race this year but haven’t gotten the results we feel we deserve. Hopefully we can break through before we head to Le Mans.”

JAN MAGNUSSEN, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is a fun track to drive and really one of my favorites. There are passing opportunities at the final turn and the hairpin, and you can also grab an opportunity at the Corkscrew but you really have to commit. With split races for the classes this weekend run over two hours, the weekend is going to be really interesting. If we don’t have any yellows, then two hours is going to be right on the limit of trying to make it on one stop. The place here at Laguna really has an awesome flow to it. After the Andretti hairpin you can really get an brilliant run through the next flow of corners up to the Corkscrew.

OLIVER GAVIN, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “Laguna Seca is one of the best venues for sports car racing in America. It’s a fantastic area and that adds to the history of the track and motorsport in the Monterey area. It also helps that Corvette Racing - and myself personally - has had a great deal of success at Laguna Seca over the years. Tommy and I have great momentum after the first three rounds of the season. What happened at Long Beach is still disappointing but we would all like nothing more than to get back on a winning track in Monterey before we prepare for Le Mans.”

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: “Long Beach is over and everyone on the No. 4 Corvette team is ready to move on to Laguna Seca. It’s a great place to be and is one of my favorite stops on our schedule. You face a number of challenges with small mistakes potentially leading to bigger problems. Keeping the car on the track and out of the sand and gravel is a priority. Fortunately we have a Corvette that brakes and turns well in the mid-speed corners that make up the layout. Leaving here with the points lead and a victory would give us great momentum ahead of our return to Le Mans in June.”

DOUG FEHAN, CORVETTE RACING PROGRAM MANAGER: “The Monterey Peninsula is certainly the most panoramic region we visit, and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is one of the most formidable circuits on which we race. From the iconic Corkscrew to the windblown sand, this place presents every driver with daunting challenges at every corner. After our brush with victory in Long Beach, I can assure you all our guys are totally engaged and fully prepared to give our fans what they pay to see and move on to Le Mans on a positive note.”

Nice tools Matt......good finds.....

I have added another torture rack to the workout room.....I was looking for a low impact machine to help keep me in shape and found that one of these is just the ticket.....its a Water Rower and there is water in the tank at the front to create the resistance.......I started out at 20 minutes a day and it will work you out nicely.........you want more you row faster........works out a lot of muscles while making you sweat......

SEMI-SUNNY AND COOL IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING. THE "GREAT STORM", LIKE OTHER FEDERAL CLIMATE PREDICTIONS, TURNED OUT TO BE GREATLY EXAGGERATED. WE GOT ABOUT 2/4" OF RAIN. THE CHEROKEES ARE CONTENT WITH THAT.
