Greetings, Gurus!

I was out yesterday conducting a training at the farthest part of the county that you can be in and still be in the county. The training went well, and I'll probably have more trainings scheduled as a result with other facilities.

I saw a vid on CNN.com of a tornado in Texas - that sucker was huge, too!

Got some work to do over the weekend, but that's not a bad thing.

Happy Friday!

Morning, Gurus!

It has been uber windy here since it stopped raining yesterday afternoon. We've got a few things in the backyard that are in a new location. I think they're still in the backyard, but the back gate is also open, so we'll have to see.

Taking my mom in for her follow up with the doctor this morning, but so far things seem great with her procedure yesterday.

Well, my hand seems to be doing okay.

My foolproof method for preventing burns from blistering and harming the skin is to use wet tea leaves or a wet black tea bag. I learned in 9th grade honors biology that the tannins will help prevent any bad reactions. Some say that it's not true, but in all my time of cooking at home and professionally, when I used used the wet tea leaves, I've not gotten a severe reaction and healed quickly.

Also, didn't make the chicken/sausage with wine sauce. I didn't like the wine, and I won't cook with wine that I wouldn't drink.

We actually rain today! Not quite like Tommy's there, but rain sure enough!

Greetings, Gurus!

Well, I got up early today to take my mom to day surgery - she's having a cataract taken care of, and on my way home, I had a hot chocolate accident. I was getting out of the Jeepers, and the cup was stuck/angled in funny, not sure, anyhow, I ended up smooshing the top of the cup, the lid comes off, hot chocolate spilling onto the center console and passenger seat, and I can't let go, cuz otherwise the whole 20oz would be everywhere. I'm also wearing gloves, so it's now getting soaked with HOT chocolate. My other hand, also wearing a glove, already has mine and my mom's purse in it, and so I need to drop those, almost in the street, as I manoeuver the HOT chocolate out of my other hand safely back into the cup holder. It doesn't sound like much, but I think I've scalded my left palm cuz it's still tender almost 2 hours later.

In other news, there was no turkey baloney last night, but rather a nicely slow simmered homemade red sauce made with ground turkey, Vidalia onion, Penzey's garlic and various Italian herbs, and a touch of cabernet sauvignon, served over Dreamfields penne and topped with shredded parmesan (not the green can).

OH, just got the call, my mom's ready for pick up. Didn't think she'd be done so soon!

Wow, it happens that often? I had no idea. Crazy times.

Well, I didn't make it out to run errands, so no chicken and sausage. I'll get the sausage tomorrow when I go out.

I made penne with turkey bolognese for Andy, and penne with crab and spinach in a white wine sauce for me. I try to avoid red sauce in the evenings, and Andy is allergic to crab, so it all works out. =)

Greetings, Gurus!

I'm looking forward to a relaxing Monday. The last couple days have been so busy. The car show yesterday was great - we chatted with a number of folks (vette and non-vette), the weather was great, and everyone seemed to be in a pretty good mood. It's just the uneven terrain from Sat at the LBGP and at the show yesterday is a little hard on me physically.

I have a small Fuji digicam, and really like it. It's a few years old, but it seems to have held up really well.

That would be really trippy to all of a sudden have the cops show up and arrest a student. I only see that stuff on TV!

I'm going to be trying a new recipe tonight for dinner - chicken and Italian sausages cooked in a white wine sauce. I've gotta go shopping for a few ingredients.

I've got the Texas Sprint Cup race on for some background noise.

Up early to head out to the car show. Judging starts at 8a, so we need to get there before that.

Had a great time at the LBGP yesterday. Nice corrall, beautiful weather, good racing, and some tasty festival food.

Happy Sunday!

Happy Friday!

I've got a document to finish up today, then it's cleaning up the office, and then errands. We've got a busy weekend ahead, so want to get things done.

Tomorrow - we'll be at the Long Beach Grand Prix, and then on Sunday, we'll be at the JDRF charity car show. Looks to be beautiful weather, too.

Massive fireball reported across Midwestern sky
http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/04/15/midwest.fireball/index.html

Authorities in several Midwestern states were flooded Wednesday night with reports of a gigantic fireball lighting up the sky, the National Weather Service said.

The fireball was visible for about 15 minutes beginning about 10 p.m., said the National Weather Service in Sullivan, Wisconsin, just west of Milwaukee.

"The fireball was seen over the northern sky, moving from west to east," said the NWS in the Quad Cities area, which includes parts of Iowa and Illinois.

That blue color on the Carbon is definitely not that blue in person. It's more gray like the one Harlan is talking about in the vid. I like the blue in the promo pic too.

There are a few Guru member pics of the Carbon in the various Sebring 2010 threads.

Had a good day. Conducted a training the first part of the day, then went to the office to put things away and prep for a training tomorrow.

It looks like I'll have a whole series of trainings in May for which I have to put together the training materials, so I'll need to do some supplies ordering.

Finally home, going through my work and sorority emails - getting business taken care of, drinking my hot chocolate from Starbucks...

Glad the pens and backpacks have arrived!

You'll have to take a nice cheesey picture for me of each of you holding a pen. =)

Greetings, Gurus!

Well, we had a busy Saturday moving furniture then going to a concert, so Sunday was nice and mellow. Watched the recorded F1 race, and caught up on some other stuff on the DVR.

It gonna be a busy week for me - I have several phone meetings, an in person briefing to conduct tomorrow, and the two trainings to conduct the rest of the week. Besides a sorority event tonight and we're having some folks over on Saturday. Craziness, I tell you.

AND, it's actually raining.

I met him once at a catering job that I was doing years ago, and he was such a nice man! Very gracious.
