Gurus! Just throwing this out.

I live about 2.5 hours north of Buffalo in Canada. I am not sure where I good meeting ground would be, but I would be willing to drive if it would accomodate most guru members. I would also ask the C4 boys on the CF of course.

I know it's a long ways away. But is this something that guys on the east coast, and upper states would be interested in?

This way we can all meet, and find out that we are all good guys with a common interested!

I was thinking that e-town would be a good spot, but that would be quite a drive for someone living in Illinois/Iowa/Indiana etc....It would have to be somewhere Central to accomodate I would think.

I am thinking somewhere in Ohio/Pennsylvania or West side of NY state?

It's early planning, but it's an idea.

It is a good idea, buut based on my experiences, it won't work. Most dragracers are willing to drive an hour or 2, but no more than that. We tried for years to get New Jersey Racers to events in Pa, and they almost never show.

I wanted to have everyone meet next year in Effingham, Il for the mid-america bash. I'm not sure if they have a drag strip but it would be cool to check into it.

If Ohio is an option then I'll suggest coming to Mid Ohio for an HPDE event with NASA. The beginner group only requires a helmet and a safe vehicle. (good tires, brakes...)

We will have 6+ C4's and quite a few C5Z's in the race groups for some entertainment also. Possible dates:

April 17-19
July 10-12
August 14-16

Here's a preview to what the track looks like....(just imagine doing it about 10-15 seconds / lap slower)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht6SyV8S8Mw

Yes, that's actual speed and no that's not me (I wish). That's on board w/ Danny Popp in his 590 rwhp ST1-C5Z.

The HPDE's are pretty tame. Passing is by point bye only and you will have an instructor with you until they sign you off for HPDE 2. Either way it's a great chance to drive one of the best tracks in the country and learn a little along the way.

We're also known to do a little of this

in the evenings. ( at least the Spectator camp is...grins)

10-4.

I guess I wont try to get something together. I know alot of ppl seem to back out last minute with these things.

Have a good one!

The only way I would go any distance is to borrow a car trailer or rent one. The towing capacity on my 4X4 is 6000 lbs, so I am at least covered that way.

Rick, if you're going to be at E-town, I'll make the drive there from NC. Ohio is 8-10 hours, but I would consider that as well.

We will see how it goes. I am planning to take 2 months off work to be with my family. I would like to go state side to race, and my little girl will be 10 months at that point, and I want her to experience this car stuff at an early age, even though my wife doesnt.

Minirams's a nice peice.

If I do go with an aftermarket intake, I think I'll get one made for an LT1.

Looks great TPI420vette !!

What do you think of fluidampr balancers ? Why did you choose the ATI Super Damper ? Do you get a good deal on them from somewhere ? I wanted an ATI, but I am too cheap, so I bought a fluidampr that was brand new on a deal from a project that never got off the ground.

You ever have either of them fall apart ?

Like I said, I'd like to see it happen.

Make it LVD and I could get several members to go.

But I might be able to get the out further.

Hey Beach, I have also used Fluidampr, I had one on my 421. It's not a bad piece. And I do get a bit of a discount, I have a Proshop account thru Summit. I guess I just personally think the ATI is a little bit nicer damper. And I have never had problems with either. Most SFI approved dampers hold up pretty good.

Nothing a little Alcohol Killer (tm) won't fix!

Matt did you know Ken had a C4? That's his red one in the first page of the picture link Brian posted...note the license plate, the origin of the name.
