Good Morning CGs!

Happy weekend to everyone. I got to sleep in for an extra snooze cycle this morning since there's less traffic heading into work. Nice.

Last night was my "easy/variety" day for my workout so I got in a short little freestyle KB workout that was fun. After that I took the baby to the corner park and she was on the swings and the slide for about 35 minutes. She sure enjoyed herself. Then my wife picked up some dinner and we chowed down. Not a bad evening overall. Tonight after work I'm gonna hit the KBs and then help my buddy install a winch in his trailer.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I'm off to cut the nursery grass, put a sink into a cabinet, and repair a counter top in the tiki hut. Off we go .........

Putting brakes on the daughter's car today.
Spent 6 hours yesterday putzing with the cooling system.
Hope to be done by 11am (Football time)

Kids. Fun when they're little. Not so much when they're adult sized.

Good Morning Gurus!

The wife and kids just left for a six hour cruise to see my daughter. They'll be back tomorrow night. Perfect for me, as I have some work to do this weekend.

Morning guys!

Late night at the track. My buddy grenaded another rear in his camaro so I got home at 2am, and I slept til 9am. Woke up with a pounding headache, and sinus issues. Ugg.
That puts the kybosh on my plans to swap out my valve springs, and shitty valve seals.
Gonna get the car cleaned up for round 2. Goin to the Mean Street event at Beaver Springs Dragway tomorrow. There will be some fast street cars, including Andy Jensen's camaro that runs 5.85 @ 242 mph.

Hopefully, I can go a bit further than the 3 rounds I went last night.

Howdy! I have a little yardwork to do, then have to wash the Vette. We're gonna go to a cruise-in tonight in Hasings, MN, which is a neat little river town. I am looking forward to some mini-donuts :D

Have a great weekend, everybody!

I watched my middle grandson play football, then went to a car show. Mine and a 94 roadster were the only Vettes. A couple of MG's, a Viper, bunch of old muscle cars and a few hotrods. I didn't win anything (I didn't expect to), but had a good time and planted a few seeds about Corvettes.

One little guy, about 10 or so, with his mom and grandmother(assumed) came by and said to his mom "I can see myself in that car.", pointing at my Corvette. I said to him "Really? You can see yourself in this Corvette?" His mother said "Oh, he loves Corvettes," I said, as I opened the door, "Well, you had better get over here and sit in it." His eyes lit up like huge spotlights, "You really mean it?" I said "Sure, why not?". He jumps in and sits back with this huge grin on his face, Grandma says "Can I take his pictures with him in there?"..."Well you'd better, I don't think he'll smile like that again for a while." As he got out he said "Thank You for letting me sit in your car." His mom and grandma thanked me as well. That was worth more than than any award I could have received.

There's not much better than putting a big smile on a little kids face. Good job Teebee. I definitely think you planted a seed tonight.

Makes you feel great doesn't it?

Lsst month, at the Reno racetrack, we were doing a test day with a vintage Nascar. Nobody else was at the track. A local guy pulled in with his 8-10 year old daughter. The track manager came over to see who had come in, he knew the guy. The guy was walking around the Nascar, drooling, his daughter was looking at my C4!

The track manager asked me to give the guy a ride around the track, the guy asked "How about my daughter?"

The track manager found a kid's helmit, told me "Don't you dare to go over 40 mph with a kid in the car."
We did a quarter of a lap, she couldn't see over the door, so she got up on her knees in the seat with the belts still on.
When we got to the pit road, I asked her if she wante to do another lap. She pointed down the track and away we went.

When we came in, her eyes were big and she was jumpng up and down telling her dad how much fun it was.

Great day.
