I lost another good friend and member of my Corvette Club last night. This post is really more for me than you guys but just wanted to post and document in his memory. This memorial might seem a little odd, but Art loved Westerns, Western Guns and participated in S.A.S. Shooting events even to the point of re-creating a western saloon and carriage house on his property.

It is sad to report that Dr. Arthur Goldberg, past President in 1997 of Corvette Club of America ended his struggle with congestive heart disease and died Sunday night at Casey Hospice House in Rockville, MD
Arthur and his wife Linda always hosted the CCA Crab Feast at Kent Island and sometimes invited us to their Kent Island home after-wards. I know we always went to the Dairy Queen for ice cream afterward. The Goldberg's also hosted "Down on the Farm" at their home in Thurmont, Md. He was quite proud of the pole barn filled with antique cars, and not to mention the carriage house and the old western saloon. Arthur joined CCA in 1994 and enjoyed his 72 Sting Ray Roadster. Art and Linda wish that everyone wear Western Attire and drive their Corvettes to the funeral.

damn... that sucks... he doesn't look that old, either.

Sounds like a real loss... but the legacy comes from the memories you all can share.

I took that photo at one of our shop nights two years ago, so he still looked pretty good. He has been in and out of hospitals for the past year. His wife Linda brought him to our March Corvette Club Meeting two weeks ago because he wanted to come so bad. He had lost a ton of weight and I knew then he didn't have long, but he was in great spirits and joking with us about this and that. He got a kick out of the speaker we had come to the meeting that night talking about Dr. Dick Thompson and he personally knew Dick and was beaming about that. That was on March 9th! Here today, gone tomorrow!
