Good Morning CGs!

Well I had a hard time falling asleep last night. I was just awake. Could be the fact that I went running after work, but probably not. More likely the fact that the machine shop called and said my motor would be ready today or tomorrow!
So I'm hoping to pick it up either Wednesday or Thursday. That coincides well with my weekend, so I'll start slowly dropping it back in. I still have to get all the final specs for everything so I can decide on my injectors and my chip, etc.

Other than that, not a whole lot going on.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Great news, Matt - he sure turned that around in a hurry!

I'm going to slap a coat of paint on my old mufflers and reinstall the stock exhaust this weekend, methinks.

Excellent Matt!! I can't wait to see it back in the car and see how it runs for you.

I have a lot of thinking to do about my situation and it's just now sinking in that I won't have my Corvette for all of the events coming up shortly.

Matt that's great, now the fun begins. Brad, it's hard to believe that the Corsas were that loud, but you have to be the judge. Don, am I missing something? What's going on with your Corvette?

It's a pretty typical May day here at school. Kids are actually working today. Baseball bats are very popular turning projects in the spring time. so I get to spend some time out there working on the lathe.

Good news Matt. Brad, I have stock exhaust on my 90 and MagnaFlo's on my 91. I actually prefer the low rumble of the stock set up to the drone of performance exhausts. But I do enjoy the 91's tone from time to time. Keep us informed on your progress Don

Today, I was up at 05:30. Had to make an early delivery to a job site. Got home around 11:00 AM. It's hot here. High 80's to low 90's today. Want to take the boat out but it's been a little breezy. Hope it settles down soon before the rainy season kicks in. Went to the Casino last night for a family get together at the buffet. My wife and I both made a $20 contribution to the Indians' profit fund. My wife usually plays Texas Hold'Em. We played the slots for 20 minutes. When the $20 was gone she said; That's it? Twenty doesn't go to far on the slots. does it? Oh well.... That's entertainment.

$20= 1 Beer, + the bartender's tip.

I'm usually happy if I even get to finish one beer before the 20 runs out and I have to go home.

I'll bet the Corsas would sound great with stock manifolds and cats. But with the headers and bullet cats, it gets tiresome in a hurry.

I took the Vette to the tire store this morning and put new rubber on the front.

School Day is almost over! Kids have been good! finishing up odds and ends. Start cleaning and sand work benches next week. It will take two weeks to completely refresh this place. Kids don't seem to bitch much, at least not in front of me!!

Brad, they are Fierce UHPs. Before you laugh I should tell you they are made by Kelly, which is owned by Goodyear. They were discontinued last year, which is about normal for Kelly/Goodyear. I did a bit of research before I bought them and everything looked good, especially for less than $100 each. These are 275/40/ZR17s, unfortunately they don't have them in 315/35s for the rear. The guy that owns the tire shop had his 90 ZR1 sitting right out front today.

ps-they do have plenty more and do ship tires FedEx if you are interested.

I had read some good reviews of those Kellys a while back. I haven't found them in the 285/40/ZR17 size, though. I currently have Firestone Firehawks and have been pretty happy with them, but am also looking at Cooper Zeon 2XS.

The ones I took off were F/stone Firehawks. They did just fine for me and I only paid $40 for both of them. They still had tread left, but the DOTs were 528 (12 yr old tires). I also ran a set of the F/stone wide ovals and was happy with them as well.

Oh man, Don, sorry to hear about that. I didn't catch that thread earlier. Sure hope you can get it back together ASAP. May as well do it right.

Brad, I know you said they were unbearable, too bad. You should be able to sell them though.

Talked to the speed shop today. We forgot to discuss a flexplate, so I told him to order one. He said it would be here tomorrow, so I'm thinking everything else is all together. We'll see.
