Got to bed late and I slept in. It's my day off.

Don, you have the honor of being the chat starter today. I had to edit your title....lol.

So Good Morning CGs!

I was planning on cutting the grass this morning, but we had some terrible thunderstorms last night. Really bad winds that were shaking the house. Wow.

My wife has a doctor checkup today, and I'll be with Sam in the morning, so no playing in the garage today. I wanted to tinker for a little bit and do some last minute cleaning. Guess not.

Remember the lawn sprinkler guy? Well, we got a second estimate that was almost $3,000! The first guy (who did my FILs lawn) has been blowing up his phone asking if we still want it. Dropped the price a couple times and he'll do it for $2300 instead of $2600. So he's supposed to come tomorrow and get it taken care of. Cool. It'll make the wife happy and I won't have to hear about it anymore, which in turn makes me happy

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Happy Friday!

We have rain and a high of 48 today, chance of frost and snow tonight. How could it possibly get any better than that?

Looks like a good weekend to spend indoors - I think I will fire up the garage heater and swap the exhaust system.

Have a great day, everyone!

Oh thank God! I thought you guys weren't coming to the party today!

I got my lazy butt up and went to work this morning. I'm still not 100% but I'm here. I'm doing some homework on how to go about buying parts to rebuild the bottom end of my motor. I'm still not sure how I'm going to approach it. Send out the stuff and have it cleaned and machined and then reassemble myself or have someone do the whole thing like Matt. We will see.

I did my own sprinkler system at my old house in South Carolina. I used all Rainbird hardware and it was really not that difficult. I think I spent more time planning than actually digging and installing. I set up 5 or 6 zones and two controllers, one for the back 40 and another for the front and side yards. Worked like a champ!

Have a great day folks!

I got up at 06:00 and started rinseing detailing my cars at 06:30 before the sun came up. By 07:45 I had them rinsed and wiped. By 09:00 I had the bodies all detail sprayed with Showtime. We have an autocross Sunday. Great way to spend Mothers Day. I may not drive worth a shit but at least my cars will look pretty. I still have to do some more detailing with some Back To Black and some tire dressing, then check out the fluids and tire pressures, etc. Better start thinking about what I'll get my wife for Mothers Day ....... Gift card at a local womens clothes store I imagine. Maybe Macy's. I was up early today, just not on here ......

I managed to detail myself so far this morning but didn't spray on any Showtime.

I could use a good buff though.

You can always buff it by hand.

Here are a couple of shots of the Porsches when I was finished. One of the pooches felt like posing. The other is showing his mining skills.

Remember that the block, windage tray and sometimes the oil pan will need grinding or tweaking too (for a stroker).

Looks like the first one needs buffed.

Looks like the second one just finished raising his leg.

I posted in your other thread. Regarding putting it together: I kicked this idea around. But I would have to buy a cam degree kit ($175), pushrod length checker ($20), spring tester (?), good quality torque wrench ($100) (I wouldn't feel good enough with my HF one!), dial indicators (?), and a few other misc tools for one job. My builder charged $650 for assembly, and I figure it was worth it. I see the range of 500-600 around here as normal. Plus what if I miss a step or F it up? Not taking that chance.

I think my best finals in college were drinking and hitting on broads. Oh wait, that was just my recreational time.

Good luck.

IT's my day off and I was up and out of the house by 9am, just got home from running errands and putting out fires and crap. Wanted to layout in the lawn chair all afternoon. Too late to bother with it now, the sun is on the other side of the house....
Think I might have bought myself a truck tho....

Hey guys...been a long day. Just checked in a couple times when I had a couple minutes. I just got home from the full day of "spring fling" and our local County Relays. It was a long day, I had to run off the javelin (both boys and girls), it takes forever to do. I'm ready to veg out this evening.

Looooong Day! Left early from school today and drove to Indianapolis to get my knees checked. Had both knees replaced in 05 and once a year I get them checked out for wear and alignment. Got into a series of severe thunderstorms on the way down. Vette got close to 28 mph. About a 269 mile round trip. Its 11:50 pm. Honey do list tomorrow. Catch you guys later.
