Good Morning CGs!

Well, I was goofing off reading stuff and almost forgot to start chat!

Back to work today. After work, I unfortunately have a funeral to attend. My FIL's best friend's wife passed away. She was sick for the last several years with cancer and some health issues, so it was inevitable, but still hard on the family. My FIL is pretty upset, too. I knew her but not too well, just from parties and what not. Very sad.

The guy came yesterday and did the inside plumbing and controller for the sprinklers. His guys will be here next Saturday to do the outside ground work and should be finished. Looking forward to that.

I had a little mishap will I was working out yesterday. I was stretching on the dumbbell rack (which I shouldn't have been doing) and I knocked a dumbbell off. It fell onto my thumb which in turn smashed my thumb into the rack itself. That part didn't hurt. What hurt was when the edge of the rack ripped 1/8" of the side of my thumbnail off. Oops. Not too pleasant. It's not too serious, more of an inconvenience. Guess my workouts are limited to light weights now

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning gurus. I think it is supposed to be a little warmer today, but much more windy. Funerals are not much fun Matt, but unfortunately a part of life we can't seem to get past.

Well, I have a bunch to do today. The grandson is playing ball again this weekend. We went and watched two nephews play tennis yesterday (one made it to state) and then on over to watch the grandson (they lost both games), got home at 10 pm. He's got games again today, but we're not going. We have a basement room to clean out and try to get some room for when the daughter moves back into the house later this month. I finally secured a place to go with the excess furniture, but much of her household stuff is going into the storage room in the basement. And I have to wash the bugs off the front of the Vette (we took it yesterday). Possibly the wife and I will go over to the daughters house and move a few things over, just depends on how much we get done here.

Sorry about your FIL's friend, Matt. And that workout stuff is dangerous, which is why I avoid it ;-)

I remember when we used to have to scramble to take our boys to their games, which often seemed to overlap. Hectic, but I miss it.

Going to give the Vette a bath, and then we're going out to brunch, followed by copious amounts of yardwork, assuming it has dried out.

Good afternoon,
guys, don't forget to be nice to your mothers today and to your wives or 'baby's mamma'....
Sorry to hear about the death Matt, and the smashed finger.
Pianoguy - when you get done washing your vette and doing your yard work, I have plenty of beer in the fridge for when you get here and do mine ....

Apparrently excercise can be hazardous to your health. Action at the autocross today was hot. I mean like 90* of heat. Small group of about 50 due to Mothers Day and was only open to club members on top of that. I had a good time. If only I could drive a good time.

Looks good sittin'in there.

I've had the itch to paint some ghost flames for about 2 years but haven't got around to it (or had something to put them on).

We just got back from Mom's house a little while ago. There was a whole house full and my Sister's three kids makes it sound like a dozen kids. I must be getting old and used to the quiet around my house because they were really makin' a lot noise!! LOL

Matt - Sorry about the death of a friend and bummed up finger!! LOL Oh.. sorry I shouldn't laugh... I know it hurts

Kevin that motor sounds awesome! I can't wait to see that thing when you get it done. Nice work.

I had a salesman friend of mine from the dealership call last night and said that he had someone bring in a 2003 50th Anniversary Convertible for trade on a new Vette. This is the Anniversary Red with Shale Interior. He told me I could have it for about $24k out the door. Only problem is that its an automatic and convertible. Its a pretty good buy since many of those are on the web for $30k. I'm not sure if they are worth it, but it is a pretty car though.

I just don't think I'd be happy with it in the long run. Lots of people are recommending me to sell the C4 for a project car and buy a good used C5 for around $20k
I just doubt I could get much for my car with a bad engine and transmission, plus I really think I'd be very sorry for getting rid of my C4 after all the work I have put into it.

Sorry for ramblin' just got lots of things rolling around in my head tonight.

Speaking of bets. I'd bet this has happened to the vast majority of C4 owners during their ownership. You get hammered if you sell it, you get hammered if you don't. If you just rebuild to stock specs you can get away cheaper than a custom build. But would you be happy. Would you be happy dumping 8 grand on yours or 25 grand on a car that will come with it's own set of future problems. There are warrantees on engines and transmisssion rebuilds; right?
