It seems everytime I watch one of the news channels I see folks from Kali and their outrage over Arizona's plans to uphold immigration laws...

Is Kali going to boycott the Electricity and Water ...it imports from Arizona......or is that a step too far since it would be inconvenient?

In my opinion things would become interesting if Arizona grows a pair and pulled the plug...

I think someone in AZ's government suggested cutting off Los Angeles from its power supply. I like it.

I keep hearing Arizona's governor is evil on the news, but have yet to run into anyone that condones illegal immigration.

I think Arizona is doing what it has to do. The Feds are not going to do anything. Repulicans or Democrates.

Amazingly enough, the polls show that the people of kali favor AZ stand on the laws.

Yet those Azzholls in Sac and other big cities are ignoring the voters. Again.

God forbid law enforcement actually enforce the law. Seems to me immigration enforcement would be more productive than doing seat belt sweeps. Guess there must not be enough revenue in repatriation. Watch out. Click it or ticket.

But wait! There's more!

DC is ending in MORE troops to secure the borders!
Probably to defend the CA/AZ line as the rats move to more plentiful bounty in Imperial valley

President Barack Obama on Tuesday authorized the deployment of up to 1,200 additional troops to border areas but State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters, "It's not about immigration."

He said the move was "fully consistent with our efforts to do our part to stem, you know, violence, to interdict the flow of dangerous people and dangerous goods -- drugs, guns, people."

He said the extra troops would be used to free up civilians engaged in support functions so that law enforcement personnel can be increased along the 2,000-mile-long (3,200 kilometer) border.

This is a drop in the bucket (political bucket actually). Will it help? A bit. Will it make a difference - No.

The other side of the isle says we need 6,000 more.
That's still not enough.

"Do our part"??? It's 100% federal responsibility. Do the whole thing. How about stemming all of the people coming in, including the non-violent ones. I bet they cost more anyways. At least the drug smugglers are providing some goods and services for the citizens.

Holder: We're going to sue the governor of Arizona over this bill.

Reporter: Have you read the bill Mr. Holder?

Holder: No.

Jan Brewer signed into law Senate Bill 1070, which makes it a state crime to be in the country illegally and requires police to check the immigration status of anyone they have reasonable suspicion of being in the country illegally. It goes into effect July 29.

Critics contend the law will lead to racial profiling of Hispanics, a charge denied by Brewer and other supporters of the law.

Didn't they also ammend it so they can only question them on their papers if they are detained in relation to some other violation?

Also, the critics fail to realize that something like 1/3 of Arizonans are hispanic, and with all the illegals, probably more like 50%. The police department doesn't have the capacity or desire to harass 1/2 of the general population.

I think the law will be hard to enforce, and this sort of effort needs to be done at the border to be effective, but kudos for AZ anyways for having the balls to stand up to the feds and Obama and bringing this back to the front page.
