Good Morning CGs!

Well I had a fun morning yesterday. I was driving to work on one of my favorite roads by the house. A 1.5 mile stretch of twisties through a forest preserve. Nice to play on. Well, I was initially irritated because as I turned on to the street a lancer pulled in front of me....going slow. Well, the guy realized I was behind him and tested me to see if I wanted to play. I did. So we went at it a bit through the straights and curves. I am not sure what model/mods/etc where done to that car but it was very quick. All I could see was a performance exhaust (and not a fart can, a real exhaust). After we turned back on the main street, we gave each other a little nod and drove out separate ways. I think we both had a smile on our faces. Made the whole day better.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good Morning All,

I'm getting ready to leave the house for my knee surgery! Waiting for my folks to come take me. The wife could not get off work today, so I'm going with my Mom! Oh My God this is going to be bad... No, not the surgery! Being there with my Mother. You know? She knows most than most surgeons these days! LOL

Anyhow, I hope you all have a great day and I'll post back when I get home later.

As long as you were obeying local ordinances having fun on the twisties is a joy in a Corvette. Getting ready to head up to get Mama. Still have to shower, get dressed and get packed (overnight bag). Then I'm off. I don't feel like rushing to get going. I'll get there when I get there. I have my XM radio to keep me company. See ya later

Morning....Matt it sounds like you had a nice little drive. We don't have any roads around here like that. First off western Kansas doesn't have that many trees, and secondly, we are flat enough that twisties are necessary. Good luck today with your mom, Don...er, I mean with surgery. Tommy have a safe trip.

I am hanging the last door today at those people's house. Then I need to get home and finish up a cabinet. That about it for me today. Going to be a little cooler today, then the heat is on for an extended period...it's July in western Kansas.

Good morning Guru's, let's all get out there and kick some butt today. That makes me tired just saying it. Good luck on the surgery Don. Very hot and humid yesterday but got some rain last night. Not as bad today but I said after last winter I was not going to complain about the heat ever agin. So I won't. Have a safe day everybody!

Just returned from getting gases.
Wow sticker shock! Prices are up 20% since my last refill in April. Plaxair is my supplier and I get a user rate but is still high.
Most of my cutting is done with a plasma cutter.
Are your prices this high?

I haven't filled anything in over a year and a half. My oxy/ace lasts a long time, just don't use it that much and I use Mapp for heating small parts.

My CO2/ARG goes fast, I have 2 of the smallest tanks because of throwing the mig in the racetrailer.
IIRC, it was $40+ for the CO2 for that itty bitty tank.

$ 25. more for CO2 and 38. for Ace. The only time I really use oxy/ace is on cast iron i.e. heads, minor cracks in engine blocks. Rest I'll mig or tig with shielding gases.
Didn't know this stuff came from the middle east!
I like Mapp on small parts.
I was gone for an hour getting gases and the school corp needs frame welded on one of their John Deere mowers. I guess the summer help hit a school with it. Ruptured Deere.
I get to use my porta pak from HF to straighten frame.
A month ago they ran a z turn mower down some steps. That was a Dixie Chopper.
Well Bill gotta fix a mower and kick the kids ass that did it!!

Don, hope the surgery and recovery go very well.

We have plenty of twisty roads around here. Drove 3-4 hrs this past weekend on them and never the same road twice. You can ignore the speed limit signs, we do.

Howdy, everyone! Just checking in quick from sunny Spearfish, SD - man, there are a LOT of Vettes here! Having a great time so far - last night several blocks of downtown Sioux Falls were roped off with hundreds of Vettes and a big street party. And the caravan across the state today was quite a sight. Gonna head over to a BBQ shortly and hand out some Guru static clings ;-)

Mojo for a speedy recovery, Don!

I had both knees done in 06 everything went well. The problem I had was getting into to the Vette. Took about a week and half before I could negotiate. Staples that held the tissue over the knees would bleed a little but small price to pay just to set behind it. Everyday physical therapy became more intense, steps, walking and picking stuff up off the floor. It was worth it. Vicadon I liked alot. Funny I thought vicadon was addictive but once off of it everything was cool.
Best of luck with your new parts.
Wait until you go through an airport metal detectors. TSA will give you crap! just drop your pants right there and show them the scars. Wear clean underwear
