Very early good morning Guru's. As I write this it's 4:20 am and I am sitting next to my son's hospital bed. He broke his arm during football practice yesterday afternoon. They were doing tackling drills when everything landed on his arm wrong and he said he heard it snap. It broke it clean so he is going to have surgery in the morning with some hardware installed to get it put back together. His mother and I are taking 4 hour shifts to stay with him. He will be ok but his season is over and his career acording to his mother, but we will see about that another day.

Matt I hope this is your day to visit the hospital.
Have a good day Guru's, let's be careful out there!

I hope he was wise enough to be wearing clean underwear. You don't want to visit the ER in a dirty pair of skivies. Surgery now with plates and screws will help it mend faster and stronger. Hope they don't forget to tighten down the screws. Hope he heals up well. 4 to 6 weeks and he'll be raring to go. Guess you'll have to find him a nice itchin stick.

Married guy tip of the day. Wives are always looking for stuff for the husband to do. Tip. Always leave several easy to find tasks for her to locate. Stuff you have to do anyway. That way she feels she is giving you direction and purpose and you are doing chores that you know have to be done anyway. It's a win-win situation.

Good Morning CGs!

Marcus - wow that really sucks for Ultraboy. I hope he feels better soon! I broke my wrist a long time ago when I was still in elementary school...to this day it still clicks when I move it. Oh well.

On the topic of hospitals, none for us so far. My wife told me she is sure it's my son because he's stubborn like me. Funny, I told her the same exact thing

Got a few chores done yesterday. Vacuumed the pool and dumped a bunch of bleach in it. Got it drained down most of the way, another inch to go. After that it's time for the cover. What a sad day...the real end of the summer. I also got the grass cut, tinkered in the garage a bit. Fixed the stupid heat shields on my truck that were rattling. I also go the trans fluid changed in the vette. I'll do a write up later.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

When I played football in high school(same school I teach at now) I suffered a concussion and a broken hand the first quarter and played till half time. I guess it was the blood coming out of my right ear that caused concern, I to spent the night in the hospital. They didn't notice the broken hand(2 fingers and thumb) until later. My mom said the same thing!! I played the next week. They are now concerned about brain concussion, maybe the lack...................of ............con....
centration..............and forgetful......ness. Like I said the Vette is running real good.......

Good Morning ! Cloudy high of 72. Students are quite, working on projects, 2 fights at the front of the school. They never get back here, All shops it seems are in the back school near Bagdad. Our view is the football, track fields and dumpsters and my truck with a repaired hood. Locals will drop off old ratty stained matressess, dead animals, a goat, a couple of dead chickens and an assortment of who know what in our school dumpsters. Found a homeless guy sleeping in one 3 years ago as the kids were dumping the dust collector.

Good luck tp Ultraboy, kids will bet busted up no matter what, shouldn't end his career. Even if you're careful like making them wear a helmet on their bike, they'll fall off and break a leg. Or, you'll catch them jumping off the roof.

I got my outside caulking done yesterday, got about a half hour of touchup painting to do today and I'm done with my winter maintainence.
Damn good thing since it was 96 yesterday and will be 94 today.

I have about a half day's work to to finish up the garage cleaning. Still looks like crap in there.

Just got a text message from my daughter. Her German business trip is going Super. " Germany is an awesome place" beautiful country. Today she is going on the Autobahn. "A lot of Cadillacs and Corvettes". She is a Siemans now looking at some diagnostic stuff. She has no time to blog! 14 hour days and can I cut her grass again. Cool. I still worry about her especially with the recent terrorist alert in Europe. I think she returns on Sunday.

Thanks guys appreciate your kind words. I'm sure he started out with clean underware but after 2 hours of practice, not so much! The nurses tending him didn't let it bother them but the kid could use a shower.

I am sure it's a coincidence that when I stopped to get coffee this morning I saw one of the nurses coming out of the True Value hardware store with a small bag in her hand.

They are going to operate at noon, I'll keep you posted. Thanks again

I hope the operaton and healing process goes well for Ultraboy. You were right in saying he is a 'big guy'.

The weather has finally given us a break here and we turned off the AC and opened the windows for the first time in a long time.

Marcus these kids heal so fast. One of my seniors broke his leg at the beginning of football season. It took a surgery and 9 pins to reset his leg. The cast came off last Monday and is walking well. Can't play football for the rest of the season but might be able to play basketball in November.

Believe it or not Ultraboy is all better now. With all the metal in his arm we can start calling him RoboBoy. He will be in hospital tonight so looking forward to a lovely evening in this great chair. Doc says he should be 100% and he is cleared for a shower by tomorrow as long as he doesn't get his cast wet. Thanks guru's!

Hey guys...I just about missed today. I've been real busy at school and this evening my grandson played football, got beat again. Marcus, too bad about the youngin'. I'm glad that everything turned out well...they do heal fast. Weather has been nice today high of 80....20 degrees cooler than yesterday...which was a record high for us. Supposed to be low 80's again tomorrow.

Talk to you guys tomorrow.
