Since we don't have an official C7 forum yet, I will put this here.

I visited the Cleveland new car show and found this little beastie.

Now why does that Batmobile remind me of a Daytona Prototype ?

As a concept car, it's pretty out there...as a real driver it's hideous.

It will never happen in that form. Its cool as you know what! but I doubt anyone could justify driving around in that thing. They would really start making jokes about Vette drivers and mid-life crisis and superhero outfits and little pee pees!!

Interesting to say the least.

I do like the trimness of it, but I hope the surfaces get a little simpler.

What campared to the C1?
50's styling was everywere....plymouyh, ford, chevy.....and the C1 TOTALLY stood out. WAY out.

60's. Same thing. Sure the Italians started to create stuff that was awesome....but the C2 met the match and excelled in many ways.

Mid to late 70's through the 80's the C3's wandered a little from 'cutting edge', sure....but they STILL managed to be very SIGNIFICANT design wise.

90's their C4 (OUR C4's) progressed technologically (and design wise IMHO) to create astounding performance and very serious handling engineering improvements.

Since the late 90's till now GM has progressed (yearly) with further major design and performance improvements right to the C6, of course.

Now there's many off-shore cars that LOOK very cool. Many even have great performance, some nearing, or even surpassing vette performance....even some sedans!

But they are not OUTSTANDING like the vette has always (historically) been.

I LOVE the looks of this C7 vette and I hope it will become production.

Vettes have ALWAYS been significant. Their design has NEVER looked "a bit nicer" or "more practicle" than other cars around them.

They have ALWAYS stood out.

This prototype would STAND OUT.

1) No place for a license plate
2) It will never get up my driveway without ripping the front facia off
3) The windows will get me ticket as soon as I drive it off the lot for being tinted too dark
4) The split window looks so cool but it still has the same problems it did in 1963 with limited visibility. However we can do what the truck drivers do and use side views!!

In black, this car would indeed look like the batmobile. I love the concept bu doubt the beancounters at GM are willing to stick their necks out on a wild design. I'd like to see some of the realistic iterations of this design that are truly on the block. Supposedly, I may get to see a couple of these in June. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I don't really like it. I thought the same thing about it looking like the batmobile.

Maybe they should go retro on the Vette too? Bring back the 63 Split window coupe with a nice LS9? and all the other modern technology.

Yikes!!

Looks to me like a Caddy CTS-V raped an Mazda RX-8, then Joe Dirt got ahold of it and thought the cowl hood off a Z28 would look cool.

I think it looks ridiculous and they would not sell many in that form.

If the target market was 12 year old boys yes, but it's not.
