Morning sunshines! Got clients wanting stuff before the sun comes up. Maybe not so hot and windy today. Yesterday was a bear. Big push starting to wind down but still going strong. Some corn that has been in the ground for almost a month is just coming up. It looks to be ok, amazing!

I'll check in later......let's get out there and make the living today, we got people depending on us to do our jobs.

Motivation is the key. Alright you pansy asses get up off of that lazy butt. Nothing will get done with you sitting on your ass. If you don't do it won't get done. Party time is over ..... Last time I checked you didn't have any servants.

Greetings! It's supposed to be in the mid-80's today - yahoooooooooooo! I tinkered with the Vette last night and got it running a little better, so I drove it this morning. If the weather holds out, I'm gonna pop the top for the drive home. Probably doesn't seem like a big deal to you southerners, but the top hasn't been off of my car since September. Life-affirming!

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Good Morning CGs!

Should be a niiiiiiiiiiice day today. I have plans to go and run at a local trail in a little bit. Supposed to meet up with a few friends there. I'll try to hit 4-5 miles as a start. Hopefully it's not too rough on me...lol. Had a good workout yesterday, another PR on the bench press. I don't really like BP as a measure of strength, but I have my goals and I'm on my way there.

After that I'm gonna spend some time with my daughter and grandma is watching rugrat #2.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I'm up and at 'em! Just checked all my personal email, then went to the work email. Now the Guru!
After Guru its back to same ol' same ol'

Last night, I finished up some details for the transmission lines, did a final cinch-down of the hose fittings. Tightened the passenger side trans bolts and then got over tot he drivers side and remembered the web of ground straps need to go on too... Crap! I'll need to sort that out and make sure they are all in good shape before locking them down. Later today, after work I will be installing the C-Beam and drive shaft... then my choice of finishing under the car with the starter, then exhaust or taking a break from under the car and finishing up the EGR plumbing and odds and ends. Depending on what a PITA the C-Beam is... and the exhaust for that matter, I could be done in less than 8 hours of work. Then all I'll need to do is upload Mick's initial tune and see if she breathes.

Well... I better get to the real work... have a good day folks!

Good morning, Gurus!

10 days till moving day. (Cue EUROPE "The Final Countdown")...

Still seems somewhat surreal, uprooting your life at nearly 42 years old. I was figuring life would becom more stable, not less.

But it's a good kind of fear... The motivational kind.

I hope everybody has a kick-ass day today. Best of luck with the final button-up, Don.

Nah! I'm a manly man! We don't need no stinkin' beam plates!

I had no problem getting them off.. I hope its no worse getting them back on. An open end wrench wedged into the tunnel on top should do it. If not You will hear me yelling. I don't worry so much about getting the bolts back on as much as how hard it will be to line everything up. Although I do have a nice transmission jack under the tranny and I have lots of other little bottle jacks if I need to mess with the rear end alignment.

The big stuff that most people complain about doesn't usually slow me down as much as the little details like the clips that attach wire harnesses and lines. Or things like the ground straps... I hate that crap! Devils in the Details!

Jobs like removing the fan shroud... I timed myself this time. Not lying, I had the upper fan shroud off the car and sitting on the floor in ten minutes. I just put all that stuff back together yesterday. I have done it so many times I know it by heart. C-Beam could be a little bothersome, but I think it will be OK.

I wish I had a little check list to go through when I'm done to make sure I didn't miss anything. Last night I went back and torqued the damper and hub again because I couldn't remember if I had. I have to remember to bolt the Torque converter to the flex plate before I do anything else! I left that undone for the mean time. That would suck!!

I just saw Curtis' C3 posted on Facebook! It was one of the photos he took a couple years ago with a nice bikini babe posing next to it! What a doll! Oh the car is nice too!

Matt, How is Curtis doing these days? Anyone from Chicago Town looking after him?

Morning guys....busy again this morning. Looks to be a little nicer today, only in the low 90's and the wind isn't blowing hard......yet. Kids are finishing up their part of the paperwork, then I have to do my part. I am beginning to pick up a few jobs for the summer, like normal. I'd like to scale back some, but I don't know if I can say "No".

Yea, crack that whip Tommy, too much slacking going on around here. Marcus, you need to get an earlier start, sounds like you are up and at'em before I get out of bed. Matt that run sounds like a good time (just not for me ). Brad, I do hope that the weather holds out for you. Don, I know you are going to get this things done soon, I sending you good thoughts. Chris, 10 days out, it's moving by very fast, and then a new chapter in your life begins. Bill, that snow couldn't have lasted at all with those kind of temps. I'd take an all day snow with the temps in the 50's. We are still drier than a popcorn fart, and the hot windy days aren't helping.

Speaking of hot, dry and windy did you guys read or hear about the grassland fire south of us? 20,000 acres burned.

Well, we've had about three nice days here in the last six months (eat your heart out Brad). April set a record for consecutive rainy days. My targa truss was growing moss. But all things come to he who waits, I guess, and today the temp. zoomed to 89* with no rain clouds. Time for a spin in the '91 sans top.

The good thing is it only did 12 dollars worth of damage. I'm not saying that's the end of the earth out there but it's got to be close.

Joe, nice pic! When I first looked at it I thought you had added some ghost stripes on the sides but it's only the reflection of the curb. Did you give it a complete going over after having it out for a few minutes to get the pic?

Which reminds me. It's almost time for our Guru Spring Online Car Show. I think Memorial Day Weekend will do just fine. Wash it, wax it, clean under the hood, detail the interior. Take your best shots. Wow your friends and Gurus. Non running vehicles allowed ....... Must show pics of current progress. 1st prize will be whatever Andy has lying around. (Only if he says so).

I don't know if I was over-ambitious today or what. Did a 4 mile trail run with some nasty hills. It was haaaard. I had to stop and take a couple 30 second walk breaks (allowed during training, helps keep your running form proper). I still did it about 3 minutes faster that the two guys in my group behind me and 15 minutes faster than the other three....lol, but they don't count. After that I did 4 sets of stairs (125 of them). The stairs at our local forest preserve are built from stone and are uneven height and length, so they are tough, and it's steeep. Tough workout. Topped that off with 3 60 meter sprints at the end. I thought I was gonna die. I am just pissed off that I was in such good running shape in November and taking the whole winter off turned me into mush!

On a side note, I set another PR on the bench yesterday. I'm cruising along on that!

Spent the rest of the day with my daughter - lunch, movie, ice cream. Good daddy/daughter time.

Decided to take the day off lifting tonight.

What's up next on the assembly list Bill?

Trailing arms (after the kitchen floor), hopefully I can start next week.

The arms are a bitch because of pressing the spindles out (and in & out to set the freeplay on the new bearings). And you can't do it with a shop press, it takes a special $200 tool but I plan to build my own tool.

I'm hoping to have the front & rear suspension done by this fall.

Good gosh guys, you all are such over-achievers. Here all I've done today is fix a computer, put together 6 chairs, stain two of them and all six seats since I got home from school. Matt I'm tired just reading about your run/workout. VB, that sound like a great trade, too bad I'm 700 miles away, I'd take you up on that. Fylboy, your 91 is just outstanding...love it. Bill, is that some special lift you have for the 67?

Tommy, are you going to start a new thread for the virtual car show?

Did you give it a complete going over after having it out for a few minutes to get the pic?

??After a 40 mi. spin through the forest preserves, yeah, I cleaned it up some. A thousand miles in the last month, not exactly a garage queen. It's easier to keep it nice if I don't put it away "wet" don't ya know.

Ha, that's my engine hoist. It's actually for diesels. But how many guys can pull a complete Corvette body with their crane? And I can pull a body with only one person.
The cool thing is that it has a 2 speed valve, 12 pumps from stowed to horizontal, when it hits a load, it shifts to a power mode. It will go almost 10 feet high.

Chris, you missed it, but last year I did a few races including my first half marathon....I was in good running shape then but now I feel like a putz! And ps, you're on a diet so no sweet Southern fixins for you!

And TB....it would take me 3 days to put ONE chair together, so who is the over-achiever???

TB I will announce the car show thread and post it in shout also. I think we'll start on Friday May 27 and run through Memorial Day Monday May 30. 4 days to post. Get your pics together gang. Plenty of time to prep. Nice backgrounds are a plus. Don't forget, if you have a 15 footer, take pics from 15 feet.
