Well, I'm up before the birds and thought I'd get this started today since I'll be gone all day again at our club's second season autocross event. I was there most of yesterday helping out and doing some timing for the new Ax students. We had a small class yesterday of about 6 students but they all did pretty good and had a blast. One young Asian kid came in an old beat up Honda and kicked the snot out of the other Corvettes that showed up for the class. He was about 25 years younger than the other drivers and had about $50k less dollars invested in his machine, but he had no fears about running fast and turning hard. He should do good today against the other competitors during the real event. The course is fast and only will only take the fastest drivers about 48 to 50 seconds to negotiate. Wan started out his first run yesterday doing well over a minute and finished his last training run at 54 seconds. The other guys my age... where all still around the 60 second mark.

My car stumped me again last night with the problem I'm working through to get the PCM flashed. I just did this two years ago with not a hitch and I did it multiple times over and over as the tune was improved. I'll figure it out once I get this Autocross event out of my head from this weekend.

I got to run now to load the car and get the heck out of here. I wouldn't want to miss donuts at the course!

Good morning. I too am up with the birds literally. Harry started squaking at 6:30. Wifey is going to run around with a client this morning then go up and check out the progress with a another job site. My right shoulder has been bothering me for about 2 weeks now. I've been feeling a little lately. This will pass eventually. It usually does. Off for a nice steamy hot shower and then rub in some pain cream.

Good Morning CGs!

Don - I hope you get your computer flash issue worked out. Sounds like it is a Win7 problem. Keep us posted.

Tommy - I think you need a nice workout to get the shoulder moving, that should make things feel better. Feel free to stop by and I'll give you some tips.

As for me it's back to the daily grind. I think I had a weekend somewhere but I must have misplaced it. At least I got the leaves cleaned off the pool cover and most of the water drained. I'm anxious to get that opened up. Of course, another project I started might delay that. I want to move some of the landscaping bricks around the pool, but that requires moving a sprinkler head, too. On top of that, I want to reshape the whole wall since I don't like it, but my wife doesn't want to wait for that. So now it's just a hole with dirt next to the patio and looks like crap. I need to get moving.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Tommy, send me some of that pain cream. I'm wiped. 6:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the track not counting drive time. 2 of us did tech inspections on 50+ cars. Then I did 4 half hour sessions with an "advanced" driver in a Nissan 350Z. Advanced drivers throw the instructor around way more than the novices. Damn, I hate stock seatbelts.
The 350Z had the computer downshift blip thing (not impressed).

A guy showed up with a brand new Camaro, Lingenfelter supercharged 650 HP.

Saw one feekin' rain cloud the whole day, on I80 on the way home. Just enough to wet the pavement and crap up a clean C4.

Tommy let me know how that works, my right shoulder is toast. The Doc says it's my advanced age and to many bar fights. I told him I wasn't that old......

Bill a nice soak in the hot tub will help or cleaning up your C4 should get everything limbered up.

Church and small group today then we will see what the weather does. Yesterday after we got done mowing I went down and cleaned up my 90. When I got back I was going to just leave it out so I could use it to go to the graduation celebrations that some folks had on Saturday. I decided to pull it in to the garage and came inside to get cleaned up.

About 15 min later I hear these loud noises hitting the house. I looked out side and there is some hail coming down. Not a lot and not fast but they were golf ball or better in size. Nuts! Am I glad I put the car in. It lasted a few minutes and then quit.

We live on the edge of town and since it rained also, we took the Tahoe in to the graduation parties and when we got about a half mile from our place the whole area was just a mess with down tree limbs and leaves and cars beat up and windshilds out. Could not believe it! Just that far away it had hailed a ton and all of them were golf ball to baseball size. A lot of folks are out visiting and going to the parties and a lot of folks have the tables set up in the garage so a lot of cars were outside that would have been inside.

First place we went the guy had all three of his windshilds knocked out and the cars all dented up. A lot of the older cars will get totalled because it won't pay to fix them. Lots of new roofs also I am thinking. Ahh life in the great plains.... We got by lucky this time. Only a few dings on our stuff.

Have a good day off Guru's!

Good morning guys....I slept in again today, must be summer vacation. Glad to hear you made the trip OK Chris. Bill, isn't that the price you pay for being the instructor? Don, I remember trying to get info from my 94 and fought it quite a bit.

I don't have much on the agenda today. It's going to be pretty warm (low 90's predicted) and the wind is supposed to blow later. Yesterday I got the base of my daughters table stained and finished. I now need to finish sanding and prepping the top for stain and finish.

I think there's something wrong with me. I was supposed to go to the track but my foot is still complaining. The black car's in storage so I couldn't do any work on her, so I did some on the blue car. I already replaced the shocks so I didn't have any more performance mods to do, so I went out and bought a stereo. I was up until 2:00 am tearing off trim panels and soldering wires together. Gotta go finish this morning...

Bill, I mounted a Hoosier on her yesterday to do some TPMS testing. I took a photo and wanted to post a "baby's first Hoosier" pic, but my camera battery was dead so it didn't save

Chris, welcome to PA, glad you made it safely.

Tommy I missed the 12k post yesterday, now you're well past so I'll wait until 13k for hi-fives.

Vettes are cool.

I had the Mecum Corvette auction on in the background while having some java and typing here. There is hope for Curtis, a C3 was at $180k and climbing before I turned it off.

Howdy! Cloudy and ugly-looking day today, but the Mrs. insists that we are going to go buy flowers. I threw a different set of plugs in the Vette yesterday for the halibut, but that didn't change anything, so I guess I'll punt and find a shop this week. I drove it last night and it decided to rain halfway to our destination, so I have that going for me, anyway.

Tommy, you may want to talk to a physical therapist about your shoulder. Last night a friend was telling us about his (I lamented about how sad it was that we were all standing around talking about aches and pains, but I digress) - a therapist gave him a bunch of simple exercises to do, and his problem went away. Apparently different muscles that hold the shoulder in place and provide mobility can atrophy over the years. Anyway, might be worth a shot.

That must be why my ............. nevermind .....

It's nice to get a series of excercises to strenghthen muscle groups frpm a professional. The only problem I have is doing the excercises. Does wiping down sportscars count?

Cut grass at the nusery this morning. Now I'm gonna cut the grass at home. (More shoulder excercise) Trying to free up some time to go fishing next week. I don't like going on the weekends. Too many damn boats. During the week I have the bay and the ocean to myself and about 10 other boats. Much quieter and nicer all around.

Yea, it's a nice one,92, the guy's from Ca. The only problem with it is it has the plastic ZR1 emblems on it from the PO. The guy doesn't want to take them off and screw up the paint.

There was also one like Andy's there.

Plus 8 or so C5/6's. A C6 with Z51 emblems, one of the carbon ones maybe ( I don't pay attention) but it had bitchin' charcoal gray paint with blue pearl in the paint.

Damn if I know Jon, the emblems were on the front fenders. My assistant teched the car so I didn't even have a chance to talk to the guy.

I'll get a pic at the next event but that's not until Jult 30.

Of course it is. We should have known. I will not be adding any

I read the first page of that thread. Annoying except for this quote:

this "emblem" tells people who really don't care, exactly what I have that they don't care about.

Well worth the read for that!

It's a carryover from ZR1, Z28 etc. To tell the truth I didn't figure out the Z28 thing till about 7 years ago. I guess you can put your favorite RPO code on your car for the hell of it. I have the privilege of owning a 1990 Corvette AR9.

Badges Smadges! That Z51 badge never came on any C6 Corvette. There was a guy at our Autocross today with one. They sell them on eBay.

I survived two days of autocross!! I made it home a little while ago and I'm exhausted. Probably should just hit the pillow now.

We had a guy come out in an awesome home built Cobra replica and he showed a lot of people how to cut the cones. We also had one guy in a Honda S2000 that just scorched that course too! There was only one Vette that could beat both of those cars and he was driving Race Prepared and he drives a lot of Autocross events!

I did not work on a solution for my car yet, but will move on it tomorrow.

Chat with you guys in the morning!

The S2000 handle so well, I've instructed in 2 on the roadcourses, one with a big brake kit that was unreal. They're what a Miata should be.
