Good Morning CGs!

Getting ready to head out for a run/stair workout with my buddy so I'm actually behind. After that the whiff and I are going to Indiana to play the slots a bit (hey Bill, share your luck!) and do some shopping. Tonight a BBQ at the neighbor's. Should be fun.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

PS - I've told you about the stairs before, this is what they look like:

Looked like more fun as a toboggan run. Looks like a regular slide run for the kiddies and young at heart would have been a nice use. Maybe even waterslides with a wading pool at the bottom for the summer. Oh well, depleted budgets will do that I guess.

Play this song in your head as you run.

Wifey wants me to join her at a clients house for a BBQ later today. Their house is sick. 5 or 6 bedroom 9 bath home with a huge garage. The wife is a Dr and the husband a commercial general contractor. He built the home himself. Him and his crew that is. She said to me "How are you gonna meet anybody unless you socialize?" I told her "You know I'm a hermit and don't really care to socialize much anymore". She quipped "You don't like to do anything anymore. You don't take me anywhere. You don't dance with me." To which I responded audibly ..... wahh... sniff, sniff, .... wahhh. Guess I'm getting to be like an Old Dog. Just leave me the f@(% alone.

Ha, I have a friend with a house like that. And he's the one that complains the most about not having money, while our out-of-work friend (with a degrees in both law and engineering) just keeps his mouth shut. Gotta love people.

I'm apparently already an old dog at a young age. An ex once told me "you can't marry a corvette". Who the hell would try to marry a car? Maybe I missed her point

Morning guys...Spotty access, so I hope I can make this work. Tommy, my wife says that too. but most of the things she complains about are physically painful to me. My knees suck anymore. I do go socialize occasionally, but most of the time it's a bunch of stuck-up or boring people.

Not much going on for me today. I'll try and meet up with my little brother later, he still lives in the area.

I'll try to check in later.

Good morning fellow Americans and overseas Guru's. Cool and cloudy out which is no way to start the holliday. I also am a social phobe but do make the rounds occasionally when there is no way out. Since I abstain from drinking it is harder for me when everyone else is slamming them back and getting loose. I know a lot of folks who can't socialize without a drink to help them to overcome their shyness.

I know when I am with a crowd that is into either motorcycles or cars then I really enjoy being in the mix because we all have something in common. I would have a lot of fun at any of your houses and you would think I was a great guy who you would love to invite back because I am so funny and wise.......nevermind!

The lawn has taken over and we must find time to hay it today. I am thinking of getting a round bailer to go over it after we cut it to make a little money on the side. To much rain.

Have a good start to the weekend Guru's!

Howdy! Kinda sunny here, a nice change of pace from yesterday. I got some goop I'm going to try using to strip the deck - Wolman's DeckStrip. Hopefully it works as well as some videos I've seen. Fun, fun, fun!

Enjoy your Saturday, everyone!

Had a good workout at the forest preserve. Those stairs are steeper and taller than the pictures do justice....

Got cleaned up and we'll hit the road soon.

Let's revive an old lost tradition at CG.

Word of the Day 5/28/11:

vertiginous
\vur-TIJ-uh-nuhs\ , adjective;
1. Affected with vertigo; giddy; dizzy.
2. Causing or tending to cause dizziness.
3. Turning round; whirling; revolving.
4. Inclined to change quickly or frequently; inconstant.

Those two half gallon sized Sangrias that were bought for me for my birthday at dinner last night left me a bit vertiginous....
And I have plenty more scheduled for the weekend
Also have a Purple Heart memorial wreath to make for a group here for some ceremony they're having Monday morning, headed to Bull Shoals lake later today... have a good weekend all

You run up and down those stairs ON PURPOSE?

Oh, yea.
Up next - Chickenfoot, Robert Plant, The Who 2006, Paul McCartney, The Stones/Cream/Pink Floyd.

And tomorrow nite at 8, The Song Remains the Same with a 27 minute version of "Dazed and Confused" (to clear things up for Matthew & Tommy).

Got a bunch of yard work done today and the garden tilled up and planted. Had help from the rest of the Ultra's.

After I got done I sat out on the deck and had a nice cold Busch NA. MMMMMMM refreshing......took 4 ticks off me while setting there. Nice!

Actually the guys is into all three

We rode up 1 hour ride, tried to find the place for an hour, (never found it) drove one hour back. Had dinner at The Fish House and headed home.

The lady wasn't answering her phone.

Got to have a nice ride in the wifes' 911. Pretty much all highway. She can't drive 55.

I drink an NA beer a couple of times a year. Usually with a seafood dinner. I have it just for the taste. If I make it to August 19th, one day at a time, I'll have 10 years clean. It must mean something to me. I keep remembering it.

I have tried them all too and the Busch when ice cold is as close as I have found. The alcohol adds a smoothness that you just can't duplicate. Ahh spring in the high country.

Thought I'd post though its late. Got a couple of things done today!!! I'm ready for a brew now!

Put spacers on the Mustang as the 05 Bullitt wheels rub on my 02. Different offsets.

Tried to finish up the convertible top on the VW Cabriolet, but the rear tension cable I built is a little too long to get it to tuck the top under the lip in the back.

Wanted to get the console put together on the Vette, but did not get to it at all. Might not be able to tomorrow either as a buddy wants me to go with him to check out an 91 RX7 convertible he's dropping his Turbo motor into!

evening guys....Just got home from visiting the BIL. I drove the in-laws so that meant we took their mini-van. Found out today that the big parade comes right by their house, so we don't have to go anywhere. Just pull the chairs out in front and have a seat.

One of our classmates asked me today if I was driving the Corvette in the parade...I don't think so, "Well you can go right in front of our float"...we'll see.

Headed to bed I'll check in, in the morning...if I can get on.
