I found this on Corvette forum and Dan aka Agent86 was nice enough to publish the drawings and such. To me it has a better look that the TPIS unit.

Luckily my mom is a QC manager at a small family owned machine shop and one of the lead CNC programmers is a total gearhead so I got a unbeatable deal on the bracket.

I kind of hinted to him that he could probably make a few more and sell them but he didn't seem interested. I will try again.

Jeff, the spacing and fitment look perfect from the pictures. How was it lining up?

Was it all CNC cut or how did he make it? You should really convince him to do some more. He could make a little side money and make a bunch of guys happy...I'd rather pay him $100 for that than the ugly TPIS unit.

Matthew, it's all CNC'd. Fitment was great. The biggest pain was finding the right size bolts. I might go on McMaster Carr and order them all in stainless. Fastenal here wouldn't sell just 1 or 2, they wanted to sell the bag of 5!

I will talk to him again and see if he would think about making a couple more. I know that making the actual plate was easy for him.

Andy, sorry for posting in wrong section. Thanks for moving it.

Alright guys..

I got with the machinist.

He is willing to make 4-6 more sets.

**It will be a couple of weeks before they are complete since he will be doing this on his free time not company time.**

$150 each which will cover the actual parts and shipping within the US.

You will have to supply the pulley which I bought on amazon for $4 and the nuts and bolts which in Zinc plated cost me $10 at Home Depot or you can try to find Stainless steel fasteners somewhere.

I am going to give Dan (agent86) $25 for each one that is sold since this is his design and I feel that it is only right. He just doesn't know it yet.

I'm sure there's a better way to market this but since it is a limited run I don't want it to get out of control.

If you want one please email me at kresge1975@yahoo.com or call me on my cell after 5 eastern at 336-302-0581

Paypal will be acceptable or a check / money order.

Freaking car guys...

Now he's talking about a group buy at 6 sets for $25 off...

So that's $125 shipped!

Would it be wrong of me to say that this is a Corvette-guru price only?

I sanded mine down with 220, then 600 wet and hand polished with Mothers aluminum but I am sure that if you went even finer with the sanding it would come out even better.

If you don't mind buying a shorter belt, and a smaller pulley, with a slight redesign of the bracket, the pulley can be moved down to the cylinder head accessory bolt resulting in a nice lower profile which still provides plenty of belt clearance. The smaller pulley is a stock item.
Agent 86 said he would minimize his design were he to do it again. See post 20 in this thread. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-te ... -pump-delete-bracket.html
The one piece bracket would then have the same layout as my modified TPIS bracket seen in the pictures.
The first pic. is the std. TPIS setup which has the same layout as your bracket, I believe.

I modified my TPIS setup. No drawing on that but here's what I had in mind for your bracket. I could be missing something but it looks like a worthwhile mod if you care about looks.

Actually, I have since gone one step further. I'm using an alternator with a differently clocked bracket arm bolt location, (S/A my '91 Caprice) which allowed me to shorten the bracket arm.
I do like your one piece bracket idea though.

Truthfully, if you opted to use a smaller pulley on the one that I have it would reduce the overall profile. The bracket itself does not really stand that high. I sort of liked the idea of being able to use the stock belt. Plus from the sales side more people might buy it since they don't have to go buy a new belt.

I really do like yours Joe.

That was my first change to the A.I.R. delete kit, a smaller pulley, 2 1/4" instead of 3 1/2". It did require a shorter belt but looked better IMO.

The last 3 digits on the number on the belt is the length in inches.
905 would be 90.5". I use a belt that has been cut and wedge the idler pulley to the proper position to get the length. Been lucky so far in getting the odd size at the parts store.
When guesstimating the size needed, it seemed like about a 1/2" difference of belt length made a 1/4" movement on the idler pulley marks.

Simply put? Other companies pay to sell those products and it's not fair to them for you to advertise for free. That's the basics of the basics on it.

Steve, I understand that and I wasn't disrespectful to the mod that contacted me. If I was going to be selling these or any parts as a business I would become a supporting vendor. I was more offering this opportunity as a chance for people who don't have access to a machine shop to get one while he was willing to make them. No one sells this design so its not like you can get one from Keen parts or any of the other vendors over there.

It is what it is. I will get him to make one for Jeff and be done with it.

Been meaning to reply.

I got my bracket from Jeff. I had forgotten about it and was expecting something else in the box. Unwrapping and I'm thinking WTF as the alum spacers are what i pulled out first. Then I pulled the bracket out and was ALRIGHT!!!!

Looks great. I hit the main bracket with some paint, and should have it mounted up next weekend.

Thanks again Jeff

Jeff, let me know if you have any issues. Of the other guys that bought one for his 85 had an issue because his alternator was bigger. I offered him his money back right off the bat but he decided to elongate one of the lower holes.
I hope you don't run into the same issue. I figured that you had already gotten yours and mounted it. I assume if your alternator looks like mine or Joe's you should be good to go.

If it is an issue and you don't want to alter it let me know and I will take care of it.

Thanks,
Jeff

I have barely enough time to work on my own cars. My ZR-1 has been sitting since last August with a camshaft issue.

I'll have the bracket mounted this weekend. I think my 85 is still on the original alternator (Shocking), but it only has 60,000 miles on the clock with the last 1,000 being track only. :D

In that last pic, Jeff, it looks like he could have filed the front of the bracket a bit or maybe the case, but it's hard to tell since it's taken from behind. Did you say he elongated some mounting holes?
