Good Morning CGs!

I'm tired today. Was tired last night. I'll take a recovery day from lifting today, but I still want to run tonight. Went for a swim in the pool last night with rugrat #1. She enjoyed it. Water was nice and warm from the solar cover being on for a couple of days. Maybe I'll get another quick swim in tonight, too.

No other news, still waiting on the drive gear for my dizzy and still need to do some more diagnosis before I install it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good Morning... Not much going on here the past couple days.

I took the Vette over to a local exhaust shop and had them replace the X-Pipe with the factory resonator to see if that would help. Pretty much no change. I was afraid of that as the it is a straight through resonator. The next step is to install a set of factory muffs or get the Flowmaster 50 series installed. Its still loud as sin.

Also... the engine has developed a miss over the past couple days of driving it back and forth to the shop. I need to check all the plug wires again and make sure none have burned up on a header or fallen off. This is getting old... real fast.

Good morning all! The wife is a little grumpy since her Tahoe sat out in the rain last night because the garage is full of Corvettes........Rainwater is soft honey, it won't hurt it....

Taking the car in today to get oil changed and the tranny serviced. Maybe a new battary also after watching some vids that TB posted way back when. He is going to be my go to guy for awhile till I am up to speed on the C5. I have already PM'd him about 10 times. Thanks in advance TB.

Upon driving both the C4 and the C5....The C5 is almost huge inside compared to the C4. I am 6' 2" and I can stretch out nicely and my son who is 6'3" and 250#'s fits well also. I love the cockpit feel of the C4 with the new for 90 dash, but the guages on the C5 are cool also and the HUD is really cool.

I will need to do something about the sound of the C5. After getting the 90 to sound like I wanted the C5 is almost boring. What is the best system? I see a lot of guys have Corsa's so they must be good.

More later.....have a great day Guru nation.

Teeth cleaning day at the dentists office. Whoo hoo! It has rained almost everyday recently. The grass is growing like crazy. I'm gonna have to check the water level in The Big O. Lake Okeechobee. It was getting kinda low in May.

Greetings! Another day of deck-building awaits. The Vette is the only car in my garage at the moment, too - sharing space with decking, tools and mayhem.

Enjoy your day, everybody!

Good morning guys.....Not much going on today. I go over and pick up my daughters van from being fixed (I'll probably have to pay the repair bill as well). Then I'll come home to work in the shop for a while. Blood mobile is in town, I have an appointment to give this afternoon.

A buddy called yesterday afternoon and needed a sub for a golf league I don't play in, so I played golf last night and really played pretty well, we won the match.

Marcus, I really partial to the Corsa Sport. Nice rumble at idle, no drone at any speed, sounds wicked when you get on it. Found mine used for $550 for the C5. Big difference in the interior of the C5. I'm 6'2" as well and in the 94 I had to have the seat all the way back, with the 01 I am forward by 2-3 inches. And wait until you go to pack for a trip...it's like having a full sized car. Does the 02 have the CD changer? Do you have an Ipod? So many questions so many little mods to do to make it even better....

People born before 1946 were called The Silent generation..

People born between 1946 and 1964 are called The Baby Boomers.

People born between 1965 and 1979 are called Generation X

And people born between 1980 and 2010 are called Generation Y

Why do we call the last group Generation Y?

Y should I get a job?
Y should I leave home and find my own place?
Y should I get a car when I can borrow yours?
Y should I clean my room?
Y should I wash and iron my own clothes?
Y should I buy any food?

But a cartoonist explained it very eloquently below...

Good morning, all!

Working from home this morning: a friend of mine is coming over with his truck to pick up my (completely undriveable) show tires and wheels for the 1985. He will be taking them out to the NCRS National for me, so that I don't lose huge amounts of points in that area.

Marcus, I concur with Tom, C5 and C6 coupes have huge amounts of storage space under that hatch.

Good luck John.

I emailed NCRS to see if they could find my old number because I'm rejoining this month. They couldn't unfortunately and I can't find my old card.

Marcus, my son bought a C5 and of course we have done a lot to it. Probably the toughest one was replacing the radio with a double din unit. We also did shocks, brakes, sway bars and a bit more, none of which were difficult at all.
He had Vengeance Racing do engine mods and Kook's long tube headers back to a Bassini cat back system. He has something like 500 hp at the crank now. When he is deployed overseas we bring it here so I get to play with it a little bit as well. I like a lot of the creature comforts like the HUD, memory seats, dual zone AC and a lot less rattles, but a must be nuts because I still like my C4 better.

Morning all, still into my coffee and it ain't workin' yet.
That C5 I'm considering compared to the C4 is tons different. First, I like my C4 seat much better. Much more comfy and it took some adjusting in the C5 to get the height of the seat in relation to the floorboard higher. I know the car as a whole sits lower but the seat was slammed to the floor. I like my legs to bend a little. took me four hours of my nine hour drive to figure out 'comfortable'. On cornering and road grip, I felt more planted in my C4. Seems the faster I got in the C5 I felt like it was gonna just fly off the road or something. Seemed very light. My C4 feels stuck to the pavement and the faster you go in the curve, the more planted she gets. I iddn't care for the sound of the 'custom' exhaust in it either, I have Magnaflow in the C4. I like the sound and I do not have the 'drone' that others complain of. I hear it when I want to. Oh well. Speaking of the HMCTB...
WHY DOESN'T ANYONE MAKE A DAMNED DIPSTICK TUBE FOR THIS THING??????
That's all that's keeping me from being done with it. Can't find one. As far as 'replacements' from the parts store - seems with that engine and year model there's a 'gap' in manufacturing. Ecklers don't have one either. Says mine is 'discontinued'....

TB I don't think it does have the CD changer it was not on the options list. I don't see it in the back anywhere. I'm not an Ipod guy at this time. I am just converting over from cassetts to CD's, so I have to take things slow. I will look and see what the Corsa's cost and then see if NAPA makes a Sound Master set up for my C5.

One problem has popped up already and I will address it in the proper forum.

I know what you mean. I have a tendency to stay about a decade behind the times. I still have a collection of different media. LPs, cassettes, cd's. vhs tapes, dvd's. No blue ray. Too new. I still remember when a walkman cassette player was the rage. Part of the argument I had with my wife the other night has to do with a stack of record albums I have in one corner. It's about 3'x3'x3'. She got on me about what I was going to do with them since I never listen to them. I just said "Just let it be". She can't let go of it. It comes up at least once a year. I might listen to them and play my vintage video games if I had the time. Too many things higher on the to do list.

This just points to the underlying problem......you don't have a man cave where you can store your precious commodities. Once that happens there will be less strife in life. I am thinking a nice shop with a big screen, storage for the cars, couches and old recliners for your Guru buds and of course a refrigerater with a bunch of Vette performance decals on it........

Yeah I know Corsas are pricy, sorry but what are GHL's? Napa has a dynamax polished stainless cat back for 800 dollars.

Good Evening Guys. 9:25 pm eating dinner, long day, recovery dive in South Haven, Mich. 7000 watt generator went over board. It was a replacement unit on a 32' power boat. 45' of water. Can't figure out how it happened, made it was the help of his friends Bud and Coors. Did a Hull, twin screw, keel and rudder inspection. Quite a few power boats slipped in South Haven from Chicago have not left the Harbor. Piss poor economy. Harbor slip inspection tomorrow morning, looking for fuel leaks, trash thrown overboard and anything out of the ordinary.

Wish I could report all the stuff I'm doing to the Vette this summer but no time, too busy underwater.
