Guten Morgen CGs!

Happy Friday. Man do I need it. I am ready for some much needed R&R coming up. I've got some extra vacation time off and I'm gonna enjoy it.

Wife and #1 put up some more Xmas decorations last night. So now Santa is reading his reindeer a bedtime story, in case you were wondering.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Great weekend in the forecast. All I have to do is find ways to dodge the ol' ball and chain. The worst decision I ever made was to let her get me a cell phone. Makes communication way too easy. Oh well, marriage is supposed to be a team sport. It's nice to get some time on the bench or a bye week every now and then.

Hoohaaa man it's 9 degrees out and that's brisk. Comon doggie hurry up its freezing out here....the trouble is this is the nice day tomorrow we get wind and 6 inches of snow......how's it looking down there Tommy? (he said with a hint of envy in his voice....)

I read that the Ford Motor Company is selling brand new steel 65 Mustang body shells.......I would like to be writing, Chevrolet announced today that they would be offering new 1967 Corvette body shells in both coupe and roadster configurations..........just dreaming...

Talking about left lane hogs.....which I hate....in a survey taken 43% of the survey takers did not know that impeding the flow of traffic in the left lane is illegal. 9 out of 10 respondents said they always see people who are unaware of the jam behind them....

Curiously 90% of the survey takers said that they don't impede traffic in that mannor........hmmmmmmmm.

Got a few more samples to pull so it better be today before the snow comes.

Gotta roll Guru's, stay warm.....

Greetings! It was a balmy 15 here this morning, but on the bright side, at least it is still double digits. We have plenty of left lane hogs here - this morning I was behind a van in the left lane going 5-10 under the speed limit with his flashers on. And I was behind a mini-van on the entrance ramp - the driver had the vanity mirror light on, and managed to get up to about 45mph by the time they hit the freeway (70mph limit). I said something like, "Gosh, these people sure are going slow!"

This would be a little unnerving:

Morning guys.....it's cold and blowing here too. 15 right now and we are under a winter storm watch tonight and through tomorrow.

People complained long enough that the state legislature raised the limit on I70 to 75, so now the backup get worse for those who sit in the left lane.

Basketball season kicks off today for high school, I'm working the games tonight (starting @4:30), going to be a long day.

Weather here is clear and sunny with a low in the high 50's and high in the low 80's. Y'all know how much I hate the Florida summer but the winter is worth brearing with it. Unless of course you're a Snowbird. Then you only come for the winter.

Hi guys, I lurk, but don't post much anymore. Didn't want to start a new thread, I was looking at spring to get back in the game, but stumbled on this:

http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/2680790608.html

98 vert, 75xxx miles. Clean carfax. I can get the car for significantly less than $15.3k.

Should I wait for a 2000+? I know they're better.
Also, is 75k miles a lot for a C5?

Thanks.

Dale, that's a decent deal, not a great one. 75k is nothing on these cars. I've got a friend who is a certified mechanic who says the LS engine isn't even broken in until 100k. If the car has been maintained well the mileage is nothing. yea, 2000+ have a better reputation, but if this car speaks. and checks out OK, to you I wouldn't pass on it because of the year. I have friends with 97-99's and they have not experienced any more issues with them than those with newer one.

I haven't seen the car in person, but the owner has said he'll take $13.9k and it has a clean carfax. I suspect that if I look and like it, he'd take $13.5k. But I don't want to jump on a deal because it's a deal. I did that last time and regretted it. I want to get opinions here, and then investigate.

Hey all! TGIF!!

Kinda' interesting that here in the Chicago area, we currently have nicer weather than in some other parts of the country. Not very often we can say that.

I scored two tickets to the Blackhawks game tonight!! Five rows behind the glass, right behind one of the nets! I'm so friggin' excited I can hardly contain myself! Nice way to kick off the weekend!

@Dale: That's a pretty nice lookin' C5, and if you can grab it for $13.5k, I think you would have done very well. I'm still seeing people trying to get that much for low mile C4s. And it appears that the current owner is fairly Vette-literate, which is always a good sign. Look at it. Drive it. Inspect it as well as you can, and like TeeBee says, if it really feels like "this is the car", I think you'd be ok.

Joe and Sue work at the same company, and get in the elevator together in the morning. One day, Joe takes a deep breath and says to Sue, your hair smells great. Sue looks at him with disgust and they exit the elevator. This goes on, same routine for a week. The next week, Sue goes to HR and tells them the story and says she wants to file a sexual harassment claim against Joe. The HR rep says it's not harassment, it's a compliment.

Sue says: "But Joe is a midget!!!"

Hi Dale good to see your post again. In July I bought a nice Mag Red 2002 Coupe with 83K on it for 14,000......The guy needed to sell it so he did come down from the 15K he originally wanted. Tires were not run flats but looked good but while having it serviced we found a slice in the front passenger side tire. So a grand later it had some nice Michelins run flats on it. Other than that not a lot of problems...I like the looks of the car you are looking at and at 13,500 you can't go wrong I'm thinking.

What other options does it have on it.....Z51, heads up display.....?

I don't know if 98 had hud, but this one doesn't have it. It's a basic vert, which is a nicely optioned car.

Congrats on the 2002. I love mag red.

Quiet around here so I'm trying to get some work done. Wife took the kids to her mom's because tomorrow morning I'm cleaning the tile floors with some nasty chemical stuff. Don't need them around for that. So I get a free night. Drinking a beer, washed the dishes, folding the laundry, etc. Not bad. I'll probably call it an early night and hit the sack for some much needed rest.
