Good morning.
Today is an anniversary for me. 11 years since I picked up a drink.(Except for the N/A beer). Best decision I ever made was to put down the bottle. Picked up an old hobby that is far more expensive though. That being the cars. Life is good. I work hard at it. I guess that's why it's been so rewarding. A good wife, a nice house, a number of cars, a boat. I have everything I need and more. I have nothing to complain about but complaining is part of me. When something really drastic happens is when I realize what I was complaining about is so small an meaningless. So put on a big smile. Say to yourself I sure am one lucky sonofabitch. Because in the overall scheme of things, you are.

Good Morning CGs!

Concert was a pretty good time yesterday. Somehow I ended up playing babysitter to drunk people in my group, though, so that kind of soured things a bit. I couldn't just stand there and enjoy the music. No more concerts for me like that. Waste of my time and money. Pissed me off that even after all my prodding our group left late and we got there late and missed the opening act. Wasn't too pleased about that. Never can count on other people to be on the same page as you.

Looking forward to a few days off. I'm gonna try to stop by Rick's today and see how he's feeling. He should get his stitches out tomorrow from the first surgery.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys...I'd say congrats are om order, Tommy. I've never been much of a drinker (or never smoked either), a beer occasionally. It takes a lot to do that.

Hey Ron, long time since you've been around. What's up?

Greetings! Nice sunny day out there - hopefully it will dry out last night's rain early so I can get my lawn mowing over with.

Congrats, Tommy, on a great milestone! Hope you are feeling better today. And good to see you, Ron!

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

I knew some people like that. Especially one guy, people would say "Oh, Jimmy, he's always late, that's just the way he is."

So, 5 of us were headed out in a motorhome to the Indy 500, I told Jimmy "We're leaving at 8, you show up at 8:05 and we'll be gone".
He said, "Man, I'm always late."
I said "Then drive 9 1/2 hours yourself, Princess."

I hate tardiness. I'm always on time. My motto is "early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable"

I guess the only good thing is I'm not nursing a hangover like the other people from the group I drove home so I only had a beer at the concert.

Marcus, I saw the car on ebay.

Brad, I'm feeling a little better. I can only hope the tide has turned. Feeling better but not great. Going over to a friends housse for a couple of hours. I told my wife we'd go in two cars. I know she'll want to stay.

Looked at a few C6s last night on autotrader and ebay. I need one of those like I need a hole in the head. But I looked anyway. I like the electron blue. I've looked in the past as well but my income doesn't justify the outgo. Some clown on autotrader has a 2008 with a whopping 8 miles on it. That's great. Depreciation is ridiculous. They're still tring to sell it high. You can buy a new model for what they're asking. I don't get it. Buy it and drive it for gawds sake.

Hum..I'm gone for 4 months and the neighborhood has gone to hell! my neighbor traded his Vette in on a 2012 Taurus twin turbo V6. Very impressive!.. Another neighbor gets rid of his Vette for a BMW 328i Xdrive something or other loaded with tech stuff. Damn I have returned to an anti vette enivornment. Even the purist one street over has unloaded his prized 67 327 convert for a C class MB. German conspiracy, bad well water? the vette experience has turned into a passing fancy. Need to take the Rosetta Stone course in German now. Holy Shit! What next? Socialism replacing Democracy? hum...... Holy shit I'm becoming a visionary, I;m the only Vette owner in the hood.

Now there is a car that needs a home Bill...consider it a rescue mission.....Ahh Ron don't worry about it, they wern't true believers only posers...anyway more Corvettes for the rest of us.

If you have every had the thought of moving up to another generation I can think of no better time. 1. there are a ton of C5 and C6's out there. I started looking at 08's because of the LS3. 2. Its a buyers market. 3. Some folks are waiting for the C7 freeing up some market space.

The 08's had some changes made to the steering and other stuff along with the LS3. If you have never had an LS engine it is an amazing piece of work. Be patient and if on EBay don't worry about the bidding just call them and work a deal.

.......and don't forget the 13's are out so everything just slid down a year. Make sure the price reflects that...

By 9:30 i had the C2 frame wiped down with prepsol and spot primed, it's ready to shoot.

Got the new paint gun set up and tested. Welded up a stand to hold the gun (to pour paint into it).

Now, I just have to wait for all the neighbors to got to work.

But it may be breezy tomorrow morning and Tuesday.

Tear duct sealed up last night, which is a BAD thing, face it swelled up again. Look like I've been in a prize fight

I'll probably have to incise it later

Back to Corvettes
If you're serious about a C6, look into cars coming off lease.

Also a lot come on the market when the warranty expires.

I went to the party for 2 1/2 hours and ran into some people I used to work with many moons ago. They were happy to see me and here I had retired. The general response is "Good for you!" Three and a half years already. Some of you guys remember when I was thinking about it. Best thing I ever did. They know I do some work at the house and the nursery. They all say. It's good to keep busy. And they are right. Nothing will kill you quicker than doing nothing. Except maybe doing a hill climb in a ZR1 without any guardrails. That'll kill ya. Or messing with the home electric without killing the juice, or cutting trees in the power lines, or staying outside in a lightning storm, or getting caught in a rip current,or getting under a car without jack stands in place, that kind of stuff.

Aw-oh. I drifted away from what I was gonna tell you. Wifey said if I'm not doing any better by the time she gets home she's gonna bring me to the Dr.

I said, no you won't
She said, yes I will

I said, no you won't
She said, yes I will

I said, no you won't
She said, yes I will

I said, no you won't
She said, yes I will

I guess I'm just gonna have to fake it.

Oh I feel great. Lets dance

You never ask me to dance.

I feel so great I feel like dancing.

Something is seriously wrong with you.

Matt
You know how your wife is always bugging you about working on the car? Well here's one with a warranty. Put away the tools and testers. Think of it as an investment. What about the many thosands of dollars you can save in parts.
