Yikes where did that month go....let the dog out early and it has rained in the night and it smelled like Spring. I am ready for the better weather but here comes the work.

Today we will travel to another town to watch a young nephew play basketball. The uncles and aunts all came to our kids games on occasion so we will return the favors.

Watched the race yesterday night but was having a hard time figuring where the Corvettes are running....a little help from the Stig would be welcome....

Have a great day Guruworld.......

Good Morning CGs!

So the Xterra threw a code the other day while I was driving to work, P0430 / catalyst efficiency below threshold. I was thinking it might be an o2 sensor, but the most common cause it a bad driver's side cat. I did read, though, that if the o2 sensor got clogged it couldn't vent and that could throw the code. It was the first snow and I was driving through a bunch of nasty slush and what and I'm hoping that's what tripped it. I've driven 75 miles since I cleared it, so I hope it doesn't come back.

Stopped by my buddy's shop last night and he was installing a remote start / alarm. Got to chatting about wiring and he taught me the correct way to solder two wires. I have never been taught, always just twisted the wires together and pasted it on. He said that's the worst thing you can do. So he showed me how to correctly twist the wires together and heat the wire, then let the solder flow in. When you do it correctly, you can actually see the solder get sucked in and twist around the wires themselves. Pretty cool. Over 10 years I've been soldering incorrectly and never knew. I love learning new stuff like that.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

From what I've read, that isn't the only thing you've been doing wrong over the last 10 years.

Morning CG'ers;

Cloudy and 59 degrees this morning and I aim to get outside today, unlike yesterday; What a time for it to rain....my "hobby time" is so little these days.

Now that the rain has let up on our "coast", it's time to get out there and tighten windows on the 'vette....I noticed it was starting to rattle on the passengers side the other night, so I thought I'd pull both panels and tighten both.

Have a good day everyone!

Gloomy and ugly here, supposed to rain some. I hate gloomy days - depresses me. I need to go to the grocery store for a few small things, visit the one in the nursing home in a little bit and I guess DNBFS today. Took a run to Shannon, Mississippi yesterday after a truck finally. Got one from a salvage lot with very light front damage. Only needs a bumper, fender and grill and he had one of those he gave me and the lip on the hood needs fixed. About $500 in parts and paint. Shop owner here is getting my totaled truck for labor. The salvage return on mine was $538. I now have a 2000 Z71 ext cab SLT pewter colored inside and out with leather captain's chairs, center console, overhead console thing, bedliner, etc. heated seats, all power, 4WD with 5.3 V8, and 144k miles. He had it listed for 5500 and I paid him 4500 for it. Drove it home and it ran great and I had NO trouble passing anyone

Greetings! I was in top form, slept well past 10. I'v been informed that it is warm enough that I could take the Christmas lights down if the mood strikes. I have a feeling that the mood had better strike. The conditions won't last, as the forecast has the words "significant" and "ice" in it.

Have a good day, all!

I managed to get the Christmas lights down while I was being pelted with ice. I also discovered why we were having some problems with them - some critter gnawed clean through an extension cord. I imagine at some point I'll find a carcass with its hair standing on end. Meanwhile, I salted the driveway and sidewalk, hopefully that will make them a bit less like a skating rink.

Apparently I should have been spending my time collecting chairs.

Instead I established a life, got a good job, bought a house, worked on my corvette, worked out, started a family, and raised my kids. I sure fucked all that up.
