Good morning gang.

Welcome to Friday. Good news they got one of the terrorists.
Bad news two police officer dead.

Well I'm hoping the rain is done. We had about 2 1/4 inches of rain over night.

Word of the Day Friday, April 19, 2013.

cornice\ KAWR-nis \, noun;

1. a mass of snow, ice, etc., projecting over a mountain ridge.

2. Architecture. a. any prominent, continuous, horizontally projecting feature surmounting a wall or other construction, or dividing it horizontally for compositional purposes. b. the uppermost member of a classical entablature, consisting of a bed molding, a corona, and a cymatium, with rows of dentils, modillions, etc., often placed between the bed molding and the corona.

3. any of various other ornamental horizontal moldings or bands, as for concealing hooks or rods from which curtains are hung or for supporting picture hooks.

verb:

1. to furnish or finish with a cornice.

Origin:

Cornice came to English from the Middle French corniche or from the Italian, largely popularized by the writings of Dante. The noun form entered the language two hundred years before the verb form in the mid-1500s.

Good morning.

Don't know why for sure but I woke up this morning feeling stressed. Well, I know why but I don't understand why? There are only two people in my life that create stress on a regular basis and they are masters at their craft.

The new A/C is in. Full day job. Started at 08:00 AM and ended around 05:00PM. My buddy with his gf helper, did a really good job. He did a meticulous install and gave me case of filters to boot. A/C functions well and I should be able to keep my cool throughout the upcoming summer. Did I ever mention how hot and humid it gets here in South Florida? Got my 90 back yesterday. Climate control system operates as it should and I have a new Clarion AM/FM/CD with 4" speakers in the front and 6 1/2" in the rear. Sounds pretty good. It's not a real expensive audiophile set up. Pretty much a basic set up. Cost me $450 out the door. They used the Bose speaker cases and the install looks clean. At least I'll be able to listen to something other than the drone of the tires and exhaust system. Guess I can take the cassettes out of the center console and put them away and grab a half dozen quality CD's that are roadworthy and put them in their place. Well; Let the day begin. There are things that need to be done.

Great to see a hasty response to this terrible situation. It's a clear message that we as a country, will find you, will hunt you down to the ends of the Earth, and prosecute you or elimintate the threat. Beantowners have patriotic blood in their veins. They or the nation will not sit idly by and let this type of atrocity go unpunished. No doubt the network goes deeper. At least now there is a trail to follow. Morning.............

I put together a list of things to check for newbie race track drivers to look at before they come to the track and have to go thru the tech line.

Which reminds me that I need to get the 92 ready for the track tomorrow.............I'm gonna check the oil, maybe the tire pressure.
That's what's planned for the day.

I'll probably stare at that claybar too.

Howdy! I decided to work from home instead of attempting another slush/ice/snow/yuk commute, and I've been busier than a one-armed paper hanger all morning. A lot of folks seemed to stay home, and several of them decided to call me help with various problems.

Have a good day, yawlz!

Here in the mile high city things are once again looking good, nice weather for the week-end - well temps in the 50's are better than the 20's and no snow predicted until Monday, I wonder if we'll make it. Maybe spring is coming. Got a big birthday for the grandson today he's turning - 18

When them dang blam wallmounts came out over a decade ago they were expensive. I think I paid around $400 for mine. TVs were heavier and thicker then too. The damned mount I have is like surgical steel and thick as hell. You could lay a bed on that sucker and it wouldn't fall as long as you tied it into 2x4 wood studs. I can't say it wasn't well built. Our mount will outlive me. Guess I got my money's worth.

Why???

That red 928 in the video getting you excited???

At this point, all I could do is forward it in an email. Our new Chief of Tech was asked to put this together (which is really great since now, he's doing the work). It's currently in 2007 MS Word and I can't copy & paste it.

It deals in what you have to do prior to coming to the track to get thru technical inspection.

I already know. Actually a pre-track tech covers everything you need to cover in a good overall maintenance check for street vehicles. Better than a plain ol' fluid, battery, belts, tire pressure check we're all so used to.

There's a few things added that people need to check to meet the rules (like a loose battery ) but yea.

You outa see a pre-race checklist for a real racecar, it's ahhhhh, long.

I just watched a news conference in Watertown.

These are EXACT QUOTES from reporters, the first 3 questions:

1st Reporter:
Did he get away?

2ond Reporter:
Do you have any second thoughts on how handled this?

3rd Reporter
Did he get away or do you know where he is?

Of course the Police Chief answered them as a professional.

These reporters must be taking notes with crayons.

I would have loved to answered:

1. Yea, he got away, we'll never catch him now.

2. Yea, we should have called in air strikes.

3. Of course we know where he is, but we're searching another area cause my guys need the overtime.

Yea, that's great.

They really should give reporters prescription drugs.

Wanta bet that a reporter at the next news conference asks "How does it feel?".
