Good Morning CGs!

The sun is out and the weather should be pleasant today. I tried to go to the parts store last night but got there at 5:45 and they close at 5:00. Darn it. I thought it was 6:00. Oh well. So I came home and cut the grass again (it grew ridiculously fast in the last 4 days). Looks good now. The new weed whacker will take some getting used to, I can't explain it but it's different. Spins much faster, easier to drop it in the grass and make a bald spot. Definitely good quality.

Wife and FIL are taking RR#1 to the county fair a few counties over. He buys chickens and whatnot for the yard and for soup. I'd never had fresh chicken soup until recently...and by fresh I mean kill the chicken Saturday morning and cook it Saturday afternoon. The difference in taste/flavor vs a store bought chicken is amazing. My FIL grew up in a farm area in Poland, so that's what he is used to. I've never killed a chicken and have no desire to do so.

Gotta run.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Slept in until 8 which is good for me....Brad is now shaking his head thinking....Rookies!....Maybe better weather today I have not looked but it seems a lot of other folks are having nice spring weather and we are still stuck in winter....I watched Clevland Indians play ball yesterday on TV in Clevland and the fans were all out in T-shirts....comon man....

Did not get to the clay bar yesterday as planned. I need to wash the car first and that is hard to do for me when its 40 degrees out. Will try it again today.

Have a good day off Guru's....

We got about 3.5" of rain yesterday, and predictions for almost that much more by tomorrow afternoon. Obviously not working outside, so I painted two of the garage walls yesterday and going to finish up the rest of it today. Then when the weather clears up I have some sod to finish up.

Howdy! Looks like we may finally get out in the garden to do some cleaning today, so I'd better keep the ibuprofen handy. And I should probably think about getting the mowers ready for action, since cutting the lawn will eventually be necessary. So think about it I will.

That instructor video is ridiculous - LOL!

Have a good day, Gurus!

Yeeehawwww! Woke up at 7:45, looked outside and there was this huge ball of light thing out there. I forget whatcha call it but when you go outside and stand in it, you get all warm and stuff.
Already started my day off better. Watched Joel Osteen, like him too, my other church program I like to watch got bumped for some reason. Made me some steak sliced in the skillet with scrambled eggs, mozarella sliced with salsa on top and some Kona coffee. Hopefully I'l get around and do some house cleaning later.
Matt - fresh food is always best. I have a hilarious story about my daddy being with my mamma at my grandmother's house, she sent him out in the yard to fetch a chicken and wring it's neck and bring it in for supper. He'd never done that and did it incorrectly. They all had a huge laugh at him and mammaw had to go finish the job. Him being from Rhode Island then moving to LA with my nanny I'm guessing he just never was exposed to southern living like that LOL. Ain't nothing like fresh deer tenderloins for supper after you've come in from the woods with it.

Morning 'yall...

Haven't been on in a few weeks...Trans problems in the 'vette and trying to work them out in between 12 hour days.

78 degrees right now and I'm working in the garage today with my other pastime and helping the little one with her science fair project.

You folks have a great day no matter what you're doin'...

I'm going behind people and fixin stuff. The stereo installer left out some screws around trim items. The antenna started rattling after the muffler guy attached the muffler to its mount. Not that he did anything wrong. The vibration from the muffler made the antenna rattle I fixed it with a screw drilled into the antenna mount assembly. I worked on the boat yesterday and noticed the tilt trim switch felt a little odd at the throttle. Went out this morning and my battery was dead and my motor fully lowered. The tilt must have run until it killed the battery. Now the solenoid, tilt/trim motor and switch might all be screwed.

I have more than a full days work around here. Nothing new about that. Tomorrow, blood work first thing in the AM, then a full day of weed control related stuff. Tuesday is a delivery day. I was hoping to take the boat out Wednesday. Doesn't look like that's gonna happen. A guy i know stopped by for a few minutes. I told him I'm never bored. It's true.

I'm tuckered out, but the garden is clean. I even whacked some shrubbery to the ground, as it was getting gnarly-looking. Instead of the usual mess of twigs and branches, I tied the whole thing up with twine before I cut it down, then tightened the bundle up a bit afterward.

Tommy, I learned some time ago that it is important to know someone who has a boat.

I spent the afternoon with a big wad of clay and a spray bottle and then some C-Magic wax and I am tuckered out....but the car looks like a million bucks. Pics in the morning but hard to capture the essence on film....Our church is having their big car show next weekend and I will stop by for a bit and meet folks but I will be on my way through to K.C. I heard a lot of cars come out for this.
What a great church.....!

Now I am going to go drive old Quicksilver out and get some KFC....with no bones....I got coupons....

The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married for the fourth time. The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband's occupation. "He's a funeral director," she answered.

"Interesting," the newsman thought.

He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she had first married a banker when she was in her 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, and a preacher when in her 60's, and now - in her 80's - a funeral director.

The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.

(Wait for it)

She smiled and explained,

"I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go."

Not much motivation today either, just like yesterday. Made some chili, planted some stuff I had, went to Lowe's. Good grief stay away from there on a Sunday afternoon! Talk about a crowd! And here, they ordered way too much nursery stuff so EVERYTHING in there was half off unless it was a tree or vegetable. Wish I had a couple hundred dollars. I did bring home a pretty hanging basket of geraniums - red ones and some mint. got my new little Dyson cordless out and went all over the house with it. Retails for $300 and I got it for $100. Love that thing. Dusted some, had a beer or two, a friend came over for a bit and that's been all for the day. Didn't get half done what I intended to do.

Got home from KC a little while ago. The convention was about like they were the last time I went. It was good to see some of the guys I hadn't seen in a few years. After the last meeting we had lunch with the one daughter and family, then over to see the other before we headed home. Stopped a little over half way home and visited Rosie's folks for a few minutes, then trucked on home. Just a little over 6 hours including the two stops (folks and to get gas). I found a "rabbit" and let him pass me. He was going around 73-77mph, so I let him get out there about 3/8 of a mile and then I paced him from there. I had the Escort fired up and the one time she went off I was down to 70 long before I met the cop. Not sure if the other guy had an "escort" but he never got pulled over and we made great time.

Good joke Brad. Marcus, I really enjoy claying and detailing, it's very relaxing for me. Tommy, If I can get two done I feel like it's a full day.....5??? You otter know better. Letty, you're right, fresh deer, pheasant or quail is just great eatin'.
