It's warm here this morning temps in the high 60's low 70's and humid. There is about a 45% chance of rain today.

Ok powerball is up to $425 million. I may risk a dollar or two.

Góðan daginn!

It's not supposed to rain today, but it is gloomy with residual puddles and ick from last night's downpour, so the Vette sits in the garage again. The days are definitely getting shorter, so I'd better start taking more advantage of them.

Have a good day, Gurus!

I'm tired this morning. Long day yesterday, although had some fun last night. One of the projects the "Annapolis Home Brew Club" has been working on is a series of Bourbon Barrel Home Brewed beers. How this works is we picked up four recently retired 50 gallon oak bourbon casks and fill them up with beer. Let them age and then distribute to the original donors.

After a specific recipe has been selected, each brewer contributes 5 gallons of that recipe to the cask. This makes it easier since most of us really only brew 5-10 gallons at a time. Last night we gathered at my friend Ron's house to distribute the aged Belgian Tripel that has been siting in the cask since spring time. All that needs done now is to carbonate it and chill. This Belgian Tripel is a bit sweet for my taste since I'm really a hop head but I think the ABV comes in around 10% which is pretty healthy for any ale.

Cheers! Have a good day folks

Hope you didn't get too hopped up. That brew is only 9.5% ABV higher than the NA Marcus and I drink.

Morning guys...had another little shower last night, so it's muggy. Luckily it's not going to be hot today, looking at high 70's to low 80's.

I have a few jobs to do today. Going to take advantage of the cool air out in the shop.

Good morning all....Brad I read some things yesterday about what you need to know if you want to retire in Minnesota....
1. There are only 4 spices in Minnesota...salt, pepper, ketchup and Tabasco sauce.
2. All Halloween costumes must fit over parkas....
3. Everyone has more than one recipe for casseroles...
4. Sexy lingerie is anything flannel with less than 8 buttons.....hahaah.....

I also saw this on the bumper of a big 4wd Silverado with a cowboy in it.....PETA....People Eating Tasty Animals...I got a chuckle out of that one....

Not bad here today as I continue to work around the office and the help is out trudging through the fields....I could get used to this....

There was a huge thundercloud to the north of us last night that had so much lightning in it it was like a light show. It was a perfectly still very humid warm night. We took our lawn chairs and I with a cold N/A and sat out back and just watched natures awesomeness....very cool!

Gotta go.....be safe Guru's.....

Yet another reason that I am lost in space and time. I don't live in today's world. I can't stand many parts of today's world. I prefer the simpler times of yesteryear. So, that's where I live, surrounded by years past. I love it. I'm sure there are many at Hot August Nights that feel the same way.

Good Morning CGs!

I have the rugrats today while wifey is work. Leaving in a few minutes to take the kids' clothing that's too small to the local consignment shop. They do a nice job and we get a few extra bucks.

I tinkered with the car yesterday and adjusted the brake switches. Pretty simple task. I still need to wire in the tcc override switch, though, I didn't have time for that.

Folks are coming to visit tonight for a couple days so that should be nice. Looking forward to it.

Today is a back workout day as well. I've been doing a new-to-me workout style called the honest 8x8 workout - from an old bodybuilding trainer in the 70s. Not that I'm in to bodybuilding per se, but it's nice to mix things up and this is a calorie/fat cutting month for me.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I started early since rain is in the forecast. I had a full truckload of dirt to shovel into a wheel barrow, roll it over to back fill the new retaining wall, smooth it out and tamp it down, then repeat. I got it done just in time as it is all lightning and thunder outside now. Good news is this is the last of the three retaining walls that I had planned. Next is picking up another pallet of Emerald Zoysia on Friday.

What is the status of the GS?

No change...still starts rough then evens out...and the gas gauge goes bonkers when you fill it up and then starts to work when you have burned a gal or so and the sensor starts to come back on line.......Chevy by doing checks has said that the sensor is bad and need replaced.....and we are waiting for them to make up their minds how much they are going to share in that since the car is out of 3/36 and the sensors were dropped from the 5/100K powertrain in 2010...hmmmmm imagine that?

I can drive it for a long time the way it is...but it bugs me....I'm thinking of cutting access holes in the storage area behind the seats so I can get at the top of the fuel tanks and the sensors and fuel pumps without having to drop the tranny and the fuel tanks to get at the stupid things.....lots of research there will be before I go cutting up my GS....but I don't know why it can't be done. Getting the access panels to seal up will be the big trick...I need to get under it and see what all is up there that I would have to cut through.....You would think GM would have done something like that if it was possible...then again maybe not....

I did communicate with a guy on another forum about the rough start and he has a 13 GS with 700 miles that is doing the same thing as mine......so we are keeping in touch on it. Chevy says there is an injector that is leaking a bit when it sits and that is causing the rough start up.... Injectors are covered in the 5/100K warranty.....

A friend of mine has had some driveability issues with a 2008 Z06. They could not find the problem using the onboard computer so they have installed a temporary "Black Box" that provides more data than the factory onboard system.
I didn't know they had that capability, may be something you might inquire?
