Good morning gang.

Not much happening here today. Should be mostly cloudy with showers on and off today.

Word of the Day Tuesday, August 05, 2014

bugbear\ BUHG-bair \, noun;

1. any source, real or imaginary, of needless fright or fear.

2. a persistent problem or source of annoyance.

3. Folklore. a goblin that eats up naughty children.

Today is NATIONAL OYSTER DAY
Did you know there are over 100 different species of oysters? They’re typically named after the body of water in which they’re grown because they take on the characteristics of the water they live in.

Here are some other interesting oyster facts:

◦The largest oyster-producing body of water in the world is located in Chesapeake Bay on the east coast of the U.S.
◦Almost two billion pounds of oysters are eaten each year.
◦In the U.S., east coast oysters tend to be smaller, milder and saltier. West coast oysters are creamy and sweet.
◦Only one out of every 10,000 oysters will produce a pearl.
NATIONAL OYSTER DAY is an “unofficial” national holiday.

Good Morning CGs!

Well the concrete guy didn't show up yesterday for the inspection / final estimate. Kind of bummed that he was a no-show, but I know he is doing this as a side job for me and I've gotten good recommendations to use him so I guess that's how it is some days. I need to hire TB to do the job, I just have to supply him with a 6 pack of new t-shirts so he doesn't keep leaving to go home

Lots of rain overnight and this morning. Supposed to clear up and then be decent the rest of the week. We'll see.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Greetings! Looks like it will be a great afternoon for golf league. If I had my druthers, I'd be out there now. We took my MIL over to the hospital last night so she could stay with her husband, as the end is near for him. So whatever my day brings, it will be better than hers.

Have a good day, Gurus!

Morning guys....And shorts and a shower, too Matt. Sheetrock won't be here until this afternoon, so I'm headed to school to put in my "flex day". This evening, I'm hoping to go out with the plumber to install that dishwasher we started three weeks ago, but got tied up with a problem and couldn't do it then.

Brad, I know what your family is going through, my condolences.

Better get to it....later guys.

No mention of Mountain oysters I see...Montana mountain oysters tend to be saltier and a little tough while Nebraska mountain oysters tend to more tender and sweeter......

The roofers will be here today...so the hot salsa music will be playing as the crew gets started tearing off the old and putting on the new....the crew was here to stock the roofs the other day....tough work and its a big job.

I will be in office today and let the help do the field work. We are down to water scheduling as everything else is done for the crop. Most of the corn is milk stage or roasting ear stage but it does not taste anything like sweet corn....

Corn prices are in the tank coming in around 3.50 per bushel right now....this is compared to the last few years where we saw as high as 7 dollars a bushel. It's supply and demand too much corn lower prices....

Ok....have a good day Guru's.....use that ethanol fuel and plenty of corn sweetners to help the poor farmers out...

GMCG's

I was up before the dawn. One of the mutts gave me a poke to the chest at 05:10. Wanted out. Slept till 06:00 after I climbed back into bed. Had an early morning delivery in Key Largo and had to bring back a truck full with buckets of gravel. Heavy load to say the least. Got home a little after 09:30. Haven't planned the rest of my day yet but I'll be working on that shortly. While I was gone the dogs went nuts. Dog toys torn to shreds, rugs pushed this way and that from running full speed through the house, a puddle of piss, a dollop of shit and the love seat moved about a foot from where we left it. I can only imagine what the pups do when I'm gone. These dogs act more like children than children. ........... I'll bet BillH is a big Babs fan. Let me play a little something for him.

Yes, they still say stuff like that - or at least around where I live - it's not mean racist either - and, me having a black friend you should hear the stuff she says!
In addition, some of it is age groups - and the households you grew up in.
Took a vacation a while back with my black gal pal and another black friend and they really hammered me with the whitey stuff lol...
On a serious note sort of - ethnicity is nothing to be ashamed of, you will sound different if you are black or asian, or latino, you can't help it. It's how you're made. Once in a while, there are exceptions to that. We have a news anchor here that is very much black, but if you aren't looking you will swear he is white. I have a white cousin that you'd swear shew was, well... nevermind - she's a lot of things.... lol....
hot day here today and humid, look out Thursday, starting then we'll have another forty days and nights of rain again.
Customer just dropped by some fresh still warm glazed donut...

Doggies were acting a little funny inside the garage. That's because they cornered a rat. Great. Trap time tonight. It's just a little old field rat. I hate rats inside the house. Nuff said. At least it's in the garage. Can't do much damage in there. At least I don't think he can. Gotta get him out . GET OUT OF MY HOUSE.
