Trying to get me gathered up still sleepy but the daylight through the curtain pierced in through the crack and woke me up....
I'll make myself some biscuits and gravy in a bit and get around and head to the nursing home to see the cousin then see what else the day brings....
Happy Sunday all

Good Morning CGs!

First off happy belated anniversary to Tom, I missed it yesterday.

Today we are having a little BBQ at the house. Pretty much everything is cleaned up except I have to mop the floor. Picked up my sister/BIL/niece yesterday afternoon at the airport. We took a big family trip over to the Mongolian BBQ so we could all get some grub. 10 people total. Restaurant like that is good because my sister can pick out specific items that don't affect her food allergies.

Weather should be very nice today and we have a small bouncer ordered for the kids. Looking forward to having a good time.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys...slept in a little. Got things to do in the shop to finish up that cabinet install from yesterday. I know it's Sunday and it should be a day of rest, but, time is running short for me. I'm not really ready for school to start.

Thanks for the well wishes on our anniversary yesterday.

CONGRATS TO TOM & ROSIE! YOU'RE GAINING ON US.

LETTY: TALK IS CHEAP, UNLESS YOU'RE TALKING TO A LAWYER. (BUT YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT :-) CHARACTER IS REVELED BY ACTS NOT WORDS.

WOKE TO THUNDER AND A BRIEF SHOWER THIS MORNING. YESTERDAYS STEAM BATH WAS CUT SHORT BY A LITTLE SHOWER ABOUT 2:00 THAT COOLED THINGS OFF AND WE HAD A NICE BREEZE THE REST OF THE DAY. MADE THE GRASS TOO WET TO CUT. I MANAGED TO CONTROL MY GRIEF AND DISAPPOINTMENT WITH THE AID OF A ST PAULI DARK OR TWO.

Hidey-ho! We're supposed to go to a friend's for a BBQ later, so naturally the forecast includes "heavy rain". The weather geniuses haven't been particularly accurate this summer, so we'll see. Meanwhile, most of my female teachers were battle-axes - I'd still be having nightmares if any of them had, uh, um, ah, ya know. Her on the other hand.....

Enjoy your Sunday, Gurus!

When I was a cop 20 years ago we had a DA that we would find at a rural park with young boys. She wasn't arrested but was forced to resign. Years later she was finally caught in a parking lot of Pizza Hut with a student by the news media having sex with another male student. She was a hot knockout blond. Punishment lost teaching credential
1 year probation
this was ten years ago

As a teacher now I cant see the thrill.

Wow....1.3 inches of rain last night and add that to the .75 inches the night before and it was what we call a million dollar rain for the dryland crops out here.

Our new sump system got a work out when we discovered the roofers left a drain spout unhooked at the top of the downspout so water was flooding the area....yes I was out in the rain on a ladder trying to get it hooked up....the good news is we have a dry basement this morning....Yeah!

Good to see PeteK on the thread this morning...welcome back.

I come from a generation were all women teachers were issued a wooden ruler and it was placed in their hands the first day of teaching and never was out of their hands for as long as they taught.....Mr.Marcus what is the problem back here...whack...and who else is in on this...whack whack whack.....schools were so much better when the kids were scared......

Sun shining now and I just made it back in the GS last night before the rain started....but still will do some clean up on it....Have a good day Guru's.....

Each of my elementary school teachers had a signature move - ruler across the knuckles, grab your ears and shake your head, big knobby ring whacked on the back of your head, etc. It always got your attention - LOL!

Back in my day you never heard of anything like this, mainly because the boys back them kinda enjoyed it. Of course a 35 y/o would have been considered an old lady.

In my days of elementary school, we lived in fear of "The Galloway Grip". It was basically the Vulcan Neck Pinch before Star Trek.

I guess you'd have to have been there....I've never been in a position where anything like that could have occurred.

Like the rest of you guys, none of my teachers looked like that.

Got quite a bit done today, more to do yet tomorrow. Got the pickup washed, I'm hoping that it will induce some rain. We were under a severe thunderstorm warning last night, but all we got were the 70mph winds and about 10 drops of rain. It did keep temps down today, only made it into the mid 80's.

About time to go for my bike ride.

I remember Mr. Greenough the shop teacher had a handmade paddle with holes drilled in it so air pressure would not slow his arm down. He would tell some dumbass kid who was doing something very stupid and had been told several to cut it out to bend over the work bench while he'd whack the kid on the ass...

Can you even emagine the furor that would ensue if that happened now....?

Yeah the Vulcan death grip was a big part of the teachers arsenal back in the day.....
