Good morning gang.

We had a nice weekend. Was cool but the sun was out. Today should be mostly sunny with showers tonight and highs in the mid 60's.

Let's get today started.

Word of the Day Monday, September 15, 2014

flapdoodle\ FLAP-dood-l \, noun;

1. Informal . nonsense; bosh.

Origin:

Flapdoodle came to English in the 1800s and is of uncertain origin.

Today is National Linguine Day

Celebrated annually on September 15th, National Linguine Day is a favorite of young and old alike. This long, flat, narrow type of pasta most commonly used in seafood or pesto dishes.

National Creme de Menthe Day

National Creme de Menthe Day is celebrated annually on September 15th.

Crème de menthe (French for mint cream) is a sweet, mint-flavored alcoholic beverage. Its flavor is primarily derived from Corsican mint. It is available commercially in a colorless (called “white”) and a green version (which obtains its color from the mint leaves or from the addition of coloring, if extract and not the leaves are used to make the liqueur). Both varieties have similar flavors and are interchangeable in recipes, except where the color is important.
Crème de menthe is used as an ingredient in several cocktails, such as the Grasshopper and the Stinger, and is also served as an after-dinner drink and can be used in food recipes as a flavoring.
The traditional formula involves steeping dried peppermint or Corsican mint leaves in grain alcohol for several weeks (creating a naturally green color), followed by filtration and the addition of sugar.
A simple recipe is to mix the crème de menthe with ice cream which creates a mint-like shake. Toppings are also sometimes used, such as nuts or pecans.

National Double Cheeseburger Day

One of America’s favorites, National Double Cheeseburger Day is celebrated annual on September 15th.

Howdy! It is a balmy 50 and raining. It would be nice if it:

a). Quits raining, and
b). Warms up

before I leave for the golf tournament at 10, otherwise it will be a miserable day. Well, since I haven't played for a few weeks, it'll probably be miserable anyway. But it probably beats working.

Have a good day, Gurus!

GMCG's Work lined up for weeks again. Catch up, fall behind. Catch up, fall behind. It's a vicious cycle. I should be all caught up by the time we go on the cruise. Then I'll fall behind again.

Was due to be overcast here today but no chance of rain, however it's overcast and it's raining. Was beautiful yesterday at around 77 and sunny with a slight breeze. Took the laptop down to the local small lake, put myself under a tree to work on a side job for a while. Across the water in the amphitheater someone started with a banjo, then a different band playing classic rock, then by the time I was done they were onto other stuff I didn't recognize and I came on home. In the middle of a pet calendar. Winners are voted for online and the proceeds go to the local humane society. The local paper puts it on - they sell the calendars for about $5 each which pays for printing and pays me to make them. I think there's going to be around $9k donated so far.
Happy Monday everyone... I'm off to the neurologist in a couple hours...

IT'S A DRIPPY MORNING IN THE NATIONS, NO MEANINGFUL AMOUNT OF RAIN, JUST ENOUGH TO BE MESSY. POISONED THE WASPS, BUT I'LL HAVE TO WAIT TILL IT DRYS OUT TO MOW THE COW PEN.
LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER FIRST CLASS NAP DAY.

Good Morning CGs!

Last night I got home and starting mowing the grass. Got the front done and the edges all trimmed before it started getting dark. I figured I would do the back this morning. Weather said rain from 10-4 pm. Woke up at 6:30 and heard it drizzling outside I just can't figure out how it was raining if the weatherman said AFTER 10 am. Oh well, it will get mowed later. Still doesn't look half as bad as my other neighbors' yards so I'm ok there.

Hope everyone has a great day!

So, in the final analysis, if given the choice, which do you prefer to install over the other, a ceiling fan or a shower door?
