Good morning gang.

Not much happening here. should be nice later today with temps in the mid 30's.

Word of the day is stour.

Today is NATIONAL BUTTERCRUNCH DAY

National Buttercrunch Day is celebrated annually on January 20th.

This unofficial national food holiday celebrates this toffee candy. Buttercrunch is a combination of toffee, covered with chocolate. It has a crunchy texture and a caramel flavor. Variations on the recipe include toasted almond sprinkles.

Making buttercrunch calls for a good candy thermometer and some cooking experience. Creating the toffee involves caramelizing sugar at high temperatures, which requires precision, timing and the right tools and safety techniques for a successful outcome. Buttercrunch can be served on top of ice cream, or on it’s own. Buttercrunch flavored cookies or cakes are other ways to enjoy the sweet treat.

NATIONAL DISC JOCKEY DAY

National Disc Jockey Day is celebrated annually on January 20th.

According to Wikipedia, a disc jockey (abbreviated D.J., DJ or deejay) is a person who mixes recorded music for an audience; in a club event or rave, this is an audience of dancers. Originally, “disc” (uncommonly spelled “disque” or commonly “disk” in American English) referred to phonograph records, not the later compact discs. Today, the term includes all forms of music playback, no matter which medium is used.

The title “DJ” is also commonly used by DJs in front of their real names or adopted pseudonyms as a title to denote their profession and the music they play.

Waküpe mayukapüy!

The alarm clock was a most unwelcome sound - doesn't take long to get used to it being silent. Looks like our mild streak will continue for a while - I even turned off the seat heater in the truck.

Have a good day, Gurus!

Hi-ho, hi-ho. It's off to _________ nowhere I go. Hangin at the house doing some stuff I should have done yesterday. We moved three big, heavy, pieces of furniture for Sue's accountant and her husband from our neighbors' home to theirs. Moving furniture ranks right up there with painting and plumbing as far as fun things to do in my book. I'm cleaning house a little today and hope to work a some on the reorganization 2015 project. No time table on that, just something I want to get done this year. Everything stored and in it's place kinda thing.
Sue saw her pain management doctor yesterday. (She really needs one). The middle knuckles on most of her fingers have been swelling and growing. Some unpronounceable form of arthritis. She got banged up bad in an accident way back in 89 too. Between her profession and the accident she's in lots of pain from various forms of arthritis. She works hard to keep her mind of the pain. Distraction. I think many of us are familiar with that. She's been talking about retiring. She can talk the talk but I think she is incapable of walking the walk. She is hardly one to sit still. That's better than just sitting around. That's the worst thing you can do with arthritis. Soon it will be off the shower and the warm healing waters that help loosen up the joints. Then it's back to the grindstone. Another day beckons our attention. Look how much progress we're making.

Things you should know. The tickets aren't cheap. You can buy them at the gate. There is plenty of food and beverage available onsite. Chairs are nice but grandstands and mounds are available for viewing track action. Maybe bring a towel to sit on. Don't forget your camera. Andy, Tamiza and Ken I believe are going to the Corvette Corral. Parking will be brutal so it might be best to park offsite and take the free shuttle in. Wear comfortable shoes, bring sunscreen and a hat and be prepared to walk .... and walk ..... and walk. Temps can range from the 40's in the morning to the 70's mid day. Not sure if I'm going yet but I might. We'll see. It's a 3 hour drive for me. If I go I go from Thursday to Saturday afternoon. I watch pre races, practice sessions and about 6 hours of the main event before I head home and catch the end on the internet and in the comfort of my home.

Morning guys....another busy day. MS class done for the day. It's mild outside, was 38 when I came to school and we had a nice rain shower. It's brightened up since it dropped the rain, but still cloudy. I'm taking off early to go to the first round game of the league tourney. We play at 5pm, but the game location is almost two hours away.

As far as Michael "the Pussy" More, maybe we ought to allow a sniper to use him for practice.....Actually maybe we ought to just turn the "Cowards" loose on him face to face.

TURNED INTO A NICE DAY AFTER ALL.

TURNPIKE DRIVING WAS BORING, EXCEPT WHEN I MERGED FROM BEHIND ONE OF THOSE CONCRETE BARRIERS AND NEARLY RAN OVER A PICKUP TRUCK. WE WERE BOTH SURPRISED TO SEE EACH OTHER :-0 DAMN THINGS ARE JUST ABOUT CORVETTE HIGH.

HAD A WIENER SCHNITZEL FOR LUNCH, YUM! DON'T KNOW WHY THERE ARE NOT MORE GERMAN RESTAURANTS.

Hey Tommy, Don't forget dinner at he Watering Hole. On me as per tradition. We might change the time or day though because I want to be at the track to participate in the parade laps.

Marcus, looking forward to meeting you at the track. Definitely be prepared to walk. You have to do a lap around the track. Green Park is, how do I say this, interesting. If you or anyone with you is easily offended, might avoid that area. But that is where they have the most fun.

Because eating veal is inhumane, didn't you know that? It even says so right on the menu at the German place by us. The pork schnitzel and everything else is fantastic, though. I really wish they had real veal, though. Libs.
