Good Morning CGs!

Friday already? That's great. Seems like this month is flying by pretty quickly.

Talked to Turn One and got the same answer as the 13th when I called...Oh yeah, it's scheduled to go on the dyno next week. Wait, huh? Didn't you just tell me....oh well. Call the engine shop yesterday as well. Apparently there was a problem with the pistons that were sent to them. I don't know what the problem was, but they had to send them back. Such is the world of high performance engine building, I guess. Should have it back in the next 2 weeks or so.

Before I get that all back, I need to finish refurbing the alternator and then I have to rebuild my stock L98 motor mounts (anyone want a thread on that?).

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Happy Friday! Figured I'd better check in before the bedlam begins. Mojo to those out east, hope the storm isn't as bad as predicted.

Matt, sounds like you're well-stocked with projects ;-)

Have a great day, yawlz!

Morning guys...made it to KC last night. The roads were OK even though when we did see quite a bit of snow on the ground. Was snowing a bit as we came through Topeka and the roads were wet. Cold this morning.

Not sure what is going on today, just rolling with the punches.

SEMI CLOUDY, BREEZY, AND COLD IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING. THE CHEROKEES THINK IT'S A BIG IMPROVEMENT.

Had relatively minor hand surgery yesterday morning. It is extraordinary to me how dependant we are on all ten fingers.

Now battening down the hatches. The storm is expected to hit sometime between 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM this evening. The current snowfall range is 24 to 37 inches. What concerns me most is the likely power outages—we do not yet have a backup generator in place. I also can't get my left index finger wet, which substantially diminishes my utility in the snow removal area.

Dear Mid-Atlantic of these United States of America. 'Don't panic. It's just frozen rain'
Maine police post open letter on Facebook

In an open letter posted on Facebook, the Bangor Police Department is offering some snow advice to the mid-Atlantic region.

Some areas could see two feet of snow and blizzard conditions from the snow.

As is typical from the Bangor Police Department, the post was humorous.

Dear Mid-Atlantic of these United States of America.I think we all knew it could happen. Every year when you pack up...
Posted by Bangor Maine Police Department on Thursday, January 21, 2016

"DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT buy all the bread on the shelves. As a lifelong Mainer, I recommend cereal. No better reason has ever been invented to eat Golden Crisp, Honeycomb or Captain Crunch (don't get the peanut butter flavored. That stuff sucks)," the post said.

Police also offered some good advice most Mainers live by during a storm.

"Toilets flush without electricity. If you fill your tub with water, you can use it for all kinds of things, including flushing the toilet. Also, to wash cereal bowls. Fill your car up with gas. If you get stuck somewhere and have to run the car, make sure you clean out around the tail pipe and do not fall asleep with the car running."

The police department finished the letter with some words of encouragement and sarcasm.

"Most of all, take care of each other. Be nice and invite neighbors to hole up at one location. Hide expensive things, but help them. (that's the cop talking). The men and women of the Bangor Police Department are rooting for you. You got this."

The post has been shared more than 20,000 times and received nearly 30,000 likes.

Mojo for a speedy recovery, John. It never fails, if I have to bandage up a finger for some reason, it always seems like that is the finger I can'd do without.

Thank you. It's the left index finger, which it now seems I use almost all the time as a fulcrum against which to do something with the right hand.

Interestingly, in the pre-op for this surgery, my surgeon asked about my hobbies.

I posted tis earlier over on facebook but wanted to share it here as well.

I had an incredible experience today. I was at my uncle's funeral, and it was with military honors. Immediately after the flag was presented to my cousin and we were dismissed, out of nowhere a bald eagle flew over. The timing was perfect and everyone saw it. I didn't even know there were eagles in Grove City, PA.

Yep, we have them—not many, but I have pictures somewhere. Grove City seems a likely place.
