Good Morning CGs!

So here I sit at 3:30 am, unable to sleep. I did go to bed at a reasonable hour, around 10:15 pm. I slept until about 2:30 at which point my body decided it was done sleeping. After laying in bed for an hour unable to fall back asleep, I decided it wasn't worth it

I have my follow up appointment today at 9:10 with the ENT. Not sure what he will say/do. I am supposed to redo my hearing test to see if there is any improvement. I think there is some since the last time they did it, but still not great. No real pain still, just some sensitive to the touch a bit and the swelling. We'll see what he has to say.

Drove the Vette yesterday to have lunch and run around a bit. Driving home I heard the PS pump starting to moan a little bit. Not a good sign since I just rebuilt/replaced the entire Gdamn system. Checked the reservoir and it was just below the "cold" line. I topped it off for now. I saw some evidence of a minor leak. It appears to be from the reservoir/line connections, but I can't be sure yet. It was too hot to really inspect too closely.

I guess if it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any at all.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Greetings! This morning it was raining with reckless abandon, and probably several other types of abandon. I may have passed an ark on the freeway. Golf tonight looks doubtful.

Ear and steering mojo, Matt!

Have a good day, all!

Morning guys....Warm here this morning and humid. Never really cooled down last night.Looking for a high about 90.

Matt, I have a friend, who is a Corvette mechanic, that swears by Lucas power steering fluid/stop leak. Says it will fix those exact issues you are encountering. Just suck the existing fluid out of the res with a turkey baster and pour in the Lucas. Jack up the front end and go lock to lock a few times. I use the Lucas stuff in all of my systems, truck, Caddy and Corvette.

I need to go get a stain sample from the people I'm building the bedroom furniture. So I can get them stained and finished. I finished up the drawers yesterday. And got the installed.

The Silverado was putting down a 4 inch puddle every night, I happened to use Prestone with stop leak.
Probably leaking from the rack.
It stopped leaking then, started again, topped the reservoir off again and it's been 2 years without the leak.

Morning, gang. Yes, I am still around. Time for an update.

As you will recall, we found out my nephew has cancer. Well his response to the chemo has been nothing short of miraculous. They are evaluating him to see if they want to proceed with a 3rd round of chemo and / or surgery. Best case neither would be needed. Waiting to see.

About 2 1/2 weeks ago, I had a visit to the hospital to blow up a huge kidney stone. All went well and I am still functioning.

Several says after getting out of the hospital, I was taking the little blind woman to work and totaled the Impala. Nobody was hurt. We are assuming the car is going to be totaled, high book is about $5600 and the estimate is $8300. Time for some car shopping. Meanwhile, the 'vette has been fun driving.

Later.

Glad to hear about your nephew, Ken. Hope the insurance takes care of you with the car.

Thanks for the suggestions on the PS. I'm going to do some diagnosis before anything else.

Doctor said my hearing is back within range according to the test. I told him it's not. He said it could be nerve damage or deterioration that may or may not improve with time. He said my left ear may have about 5-7℅ lower range than the right ear. He said comparing the bad one to the good one might be why it seems so off. Basically....there's no good answer to why the hearing in the left ear sounds muffled.

I hope the good news with your nephew's cancer continues Ken. That's some nasty stuff and I know it's really tough to deal with.

The holiday was pretty good for me.

I drove over to BlackHarleyMans place to take a look at his 91 coupe which was idling really low and missing occasionally.... turned out to be simple stuff to fix. A plug wire boot was arcing and the idle screw on the TB had backed off causing the IAC to run wide open....

Later that day I got to drive his 96 GS roadster to a local car show.... that car is so much fun. Lots of power, super loud exhaust system, immaculate paint and interior..... All the money and time he has spent restoring/modifying that GS was worth it. Such a cool car now. Fair amount of traffic on the way there and I was scared to death of someone crashing into it (with a 10K paint job you worry about that stuff) but once you get over that it's an enjoyable experience.... almost made me want to build another C4.

I also helped a few people who were racing this weekend with tune up and suspension advice. I though about going to the Yellow Bullet Nationals but since our Outlaw 10.5 car wasn't ready for the race, I decided to just stay home and field phone calls.

I still need to adjust the valves on my 84 and get it ready for our race this Saturday. I devote so little time to working on it, it's no wonder we have has such little progress to show with it but after the results at the last race, I'm pretty hopeful that I've finally figured the car out and it's running like it should have all along.

Somehow my 72 managed to get some pretty nasty scratches in the paint (drivers front fender arch)... of course nobody in the house knows anything about that - according to them no ones even been in the garage.... it's all the way to the primer so, definitely not going to buff out.... maybe after some waxing it'll be less noticeable. So much for my plan of keeping the original paint in good shape for as long as possible.

Take it easy
Will

Tommy, they had some Oreos after the donation, in the 'canteen' where you have to sit for at least 15 minutes after the donation. I had some of those, plus some Cheez-Its and some pretzels, along with two cans of juice and two bottles of water.
