Pics look awesome. You have so much more dedication than I do for a project like this!

BTW, I may have to notify the local authorities regarding their missing street sign

So is it a car or a truck?

Did the mexican flag and the cattle pusher show up yet in the mail?

The flag did, but he doesn't know how to mount it because the instructions were in Spanish.....

Looks good, Ron. Man I've always dug El Caminos and Rancheros. There's just something about them. I had a '58 Ranchero for years and let it go a few years back. Sometimes I wish I'd kept it and turned it into a vintage style, kick-ass gasser. I hope you'll post some launch videos when you get this bad-boy on the road.

THanks all. Looking back I liked it better in primer. Ratt rodding it to a point or going gasser style with some Hilborns stacks would have been a lot of fun. Rowdy and rude!! Seriously, if I get bored with it I may one day spray right over the paint LOL!
Maybe semi-gloss the hood black, put the car on the ground and do an old Smokey Yunick style theme would be badass..
Once it looks bad enough Ill park it on Central Coasters front lawn and tie a pig to the bumper.

Buddy has a 70 Ranchera that I know you could get for about 5k. Its in primer, runs great, lowered, perfect stance with Torque thrusts and 17s. Body lines on that one are unreal. Has the shaker/Mach type hoood and straight body too. Nice ride.

As far as getting some "run" vids you better believe it .
Im expecting solid 11s from it so know its going to get beat on and not just dusted off and stared at.
Initial startup is a must, too.

Had the paint done, car in 2 shops for a total of almost 6 yrs. Long story but at least its done and replaced the motor that came up MIA. All the rest of paint/pre (underside of the body, frame, etc) I did once the body was removed.

I found some pics of when I stripped the body myself back in 00 but it was SO rough under the bondo I could not find one good reference point to start with. It was hammered BAD and had been hit numerous times. Pulled the fron frame rails out too. Car is more square than GM ever could have had it now..
Think at one point some hick owned it. Rear wiring harness had it spliced for a hitch, had an extra gas door welded in the side of the bed, 2 CB antennaes and air shocks when I got it.

All I can say is never buy a car primered unless you reeealy know body work ..Too easy to hide a good bondo job. LOL.

Its a lot of work, headache and sacrifice. Would not recommend doing a frame off to anyone as most never see the road again, dont wanna be one of those guys. I know why you see freshly completed cars being sold...By the time its together they are relived and dont want to see the thing anymore.
If you have the money, time and place and get it done quick go for it then. This will be the one and only "framer" I do.
