Oh man, what a flashback! I was on my way back from Lowes, and it's perfect convertible weather. So there I was, just cruising along enjoying the ride with a smile on my face. Then the Beatles "Twist and Shout" started playing on the radio. I immediately turned the volume up to just below the threshold of pain ...
I immediately had a flashback. My very first car was a brandy-new red '67 Corvette convertible and there I was, a young stud again, cruising and turning the volume up to Twist and Shout. I actually laughed out loud. I'm sure the people around me thought I was nuts. |

I am beside myself imagining what it would've been like to have a brand-new '67 Vette convertible for a first car *sniff*

My second Corvette was a 67 coupe and I still have it.
Seems like there's mostly Led Zepplin coming out of the C4 speakers these days. |

Gee... if nothing else... you're old.
I get those moments from time to time, but for me, it's tragic music like Duran Duran. |

The Eagles are great! Just good music.
I, like Andy am also a child of the 80's. And as much as I love the crap I listened to (Ratt, Dokken, Iron Maiden, and all the MTV pop stuff) I feel like the 70's got much better music than we did. A buddy of mine who is 50 has turned me on to some good shit. Robin Trower, Ten Years After, Tull... |

Then I wake up and move over for the 260hp Camry that I'm getting in the way of. |

BTW, I was a poor white boy who grew up in central Wisconsin. However, I earned a full scholarship including stipend for college, so my mother said she would buy me the car of my choice ... took me all of two milliseconds to blurt out CORVETTE !!!
The 'vette cost her a lot less than my tuition/books/room and board would have, so it was a win/win. Now if I had just kept that car ... |

Yea, should have kept it. I really upset my mother when I said "sure, I'm going to college but I'm working a year first so I can buy a Corvette". Bought a 63 Z06. Then I got a scholarship from Borg-Warner. Should have kept it. Sold it and bought a 62 Chev Panel Truck and a brand new Yamaha motocrosser. The week after I graduated, I bought a 67. Kept it. |

You really know how to hurt a guy. What drivetrain do you have? mine was the 350 hp 327 with a Muncie 4-speed and the 3.07 rear axle ratio. I wanted a high-speed road car. I find the rear axle ratio amusing as in '67 that was the "economy" ratio and my '94 has the same ratio and it's the "performance" version. |

Well, there's a bunch of us that got hurt by "should'a kept it". I should'a kept my 65 coupe, my 66 vert, my 76 C3 and really should'd kept the 63 Z06. But the one that really hurt: I had the chance to buy a 67 coupe, 400hp, 3 duce big block in '84 for $10k, NCRS car with sidepipes, a/c, shoulder belts and head rests, Anyway, the 67's got a 3:36 rear. 300 horse, Muncie and the rest is pretty much base. The one strange option is the origional owner ordered it with off road exhaust. When I got it, it had sidepipes which of course, I'm keeping. The car is currently totally apart and I'm planning to sart the restoration as soon as I switch houses. |

Yea, both were rare. The shoulder belts were the single ones like today's cars.
More than any of the Vettes I've sold, I've kicked myself in the ass for not buying this one. |
