Brand new to this, got asked a question what do I want to get for this?

Dont I have to recommend he wait for the auction to end and call me, or just tell him to bid?

Should I just tell him "money"?
Might take a little less (would be happier if I didnt though) but the auction just started and dont want to sell myself short.

I dont know how any of this works and want to get a good rating, I have a ton of other crap I want to sell.

Tell him to bid. Or if he makes you an offer you can't refuse, edit your auction to add a "buy it now" price and he can buy it that way.

Can I do that? I understand I have to have so many sales before I get the buy it now priviledge.
I want to move the motor but dont want pissed off people giving me bad feedback and hate to lower the price if hes just playing or tire kicking

I hate selling stuff..Kinda cool to have this in the garage..

Cooler having food in the fridge though.

You might be right about that, I haven't read through the rules in quite a while. I'd just let it ride then. After all, you've still got 6 days to go. That thing ought to bring a good price.

Thats what I thought.

Unfortunately, eBay has removed this auction-style listing. All bids or offers on this listing have been canceled.

Listings are removed for different reasons. For example:
- The way the item was listed may violate eBay policy.
- The removal may be part of a separate action taken by eBay that is unrelated to the listing itself.

We hope you understand that, due to privacy concerns, we're unable to discuss the details of why this listing was ended. However, please note that the removal of this listing should not suggest that this seller's standing in the eBay Community has been called into question.

this makes me think that the person who asked to buy it didn't like the answer Ron gave him, and made up some crap to get it pulled.

That is one guess... the other guess is that Ron cancelled it due to an offer he couldn't refuse.

Ron????

Thats the idea! Lots of bogus sellers out there ripping off buyers and ebay. I've seen dirt bags selling cell phones. Actually they are selling a picture of a cell phone, but you dont know that unless you read the description very closely.

Thats why your best protection is PayPal. The bad part for me is that both organizations have banned the sales of some gun parts and ammo components. I use other auctions and services for these items.......

it's more complex than that... they don't want transactions to exist that can make it too easy to fence stolen goods.

So you made $40 minus their cut then you had to pay them $50 more to relist. So today your out about $65 bucks after selling the console. Todays net profit is a negative number. No wonder your going broke and ebay keeps making money. I wonder if guru-bay is available. You could be the admin and maybe get a peice of the action.

Im getting pissed, actually. I sent Ebay a Q on getting the first fee reveresed, I just get referred to some other page. THis is BS. Im about to stick the thing in a storage and forget about it for a fwe years, it doesnt want to leave me lol.

I cannot find a cusotmer service number for Ebay?

I think with cars, it's different... I don't know why... I need to read the rules.

A lot of the issue with cars is that they are legally registered and recorded by states, parts are not tracked in the same manner. It's harder to sell a stolen car, versus stolen parts.

If they removed your listing you shouldn't be charged. As far as calling them, it's not the way they do it. You can email them or they have the "live online support". I wouldn't pay the first listing fee since they took it off.

I had trouble with them a while back. Somehow someone put a motorcycle up for sale on my account. I found out about it when someone else asked if they could come see it before bidding. I canceled the auction and sent EBay an email asking for the listing fee to be removed, they promptly ignored the email. They also ignored the second and third email. The only way to get any real help from them is through there live support. The email system is nothing but BS automated responses.

I had to email resolve at ebay.com hope I hear back.
Damn, $100 to list the motor, $105 for the car .This isnt going to be cheap. guess you gotta not mind paying relisting fees or price the stuff to be dumped.

Trying to figure out the paypal thing.

I skipped over it in signing up for ebay as it wasnt mandatory and Im leery of all that stuff anyway as far as giving info over the web, I must be old.

Catch is:
If you dont sign up for paypal though it says on your ad the buyer has no protection. Nice. SO, I have o feedback and figure I should to get some confident bidders so I do that. You cant go back to the original paypal window so I had to find a paypal site off google. Hope its the correct one, they have my info now and I still dont know how to use it, lol.

This crap better sell is all I gotta say.
Looks like next to no customer service with Ebay, take your chances. Seems safer selling smaller stuff.

I am waiting for them to bounce the ad for the car as they dont let you edit out your original text (it also says accept cash). If that happens Ill bury this thing in the desert somewhere, it just wasnt meant to sell lol.

You won't really see the bidding action until the last day (usually the very end). That's how it works 90% of the time.

Darn it. I was willing to bid a george washington for that shiny car, hoping the ebay newb hadn't put up a reserve, but alas it was already a couple bills above that. Maybe next time

Good luck.

Matthew

PS - you do have to be careful, too, like stated. I have bought a lot of crap off ebay that I didn't need, yet I've gotten some great deals on other stuff. It's hard not to impulse buy, sometimes. And since you can't hold the stuff in your hand, it's hard to judge the quality.

Ron, you need to revise your lt5 item description to include; ZR-1 ZR1 engine corvette

You should be able to add a secondary description line. The original description line cannot be modified once the item is submitted.

I'm suggesting this because today I searched for "zr1 engine" and yours did not appear. But all the other engines available were included. Having a good description is critical to reaching the majority of buyers.

Just my two cents bro!

Auctions with no reserve cost less to run and bring higher bids. The downside is you probably still won't like what it sells for, but it will sell. At some point you have to put a value on your time, frustration, and interest bearing debt. If you have 20K in debt, that car is costing you a few hundred for every month you keep it, plus the value is dropping.

People get around the no reserve auctions if they don't like the high bid by removing the auction or winning their own auction with a different account.

12.9k isnt the market, any Z is worth 15 in parts alone..Heck theres guys getting more for LT4s!
I just think this economy is so dang bad noones spending money at all. There was a 91 Z with 20k miles that bid for the same thing. The only guys buying these are the ones that own them and wont pay any more than that so a buck can be made taking them apart. Younger generation has no interest in C4s or american cars for that matter. Its a neat car but its yesterdays news. Its a dinosaur of sorts.

Another reason is theres not nough info about these cars and WAY to much bad info.

Had a guy dead set on picking evertything up a week prior to auction, full price. Some dork from his car club told him the wheels on C4s come off if you road course them due to some design defect and C5s wont. Scared the guy off.
Wonder how those things completed the endurance tests...

Still wanting to sell it because of need but kind of relived it didnt sell, boy am I a scik one. lol

I'll give you 12,901!

Too bad it didn't sell. I know you didn't want it to deep down, but eventually it's gonna have to go.

Good luck with future sales!

Sounds like you just gave a bunch of reasons why the market value is less than you want to get. When I sold my truck I calculated how much it cost me every month from loan interest and insurance, and then I looked at the actual purchase price of similars vs what I wanted to get for it, and It was only going to take 6 months or so before I lost that several thousand dollars of difference.

In other words, if the debt+ins+depreciation costs you $500/mo, then selling it now for 14K is going to make you exactly as much money as selling it 6 months from now at 17K, minus the aggravation. It would also be equal to you waiting 12 months and getting 20K for it. If you'd be happy with that, then you should be equally happy with selling it quick for less, since it adds up the same.

If it was an appreciating asset, and you weren't in debt, and you were actually enjoying the car, it'd be a different story.

Point taken from the viewpoint of sale price=value but thats like saying the 20k mil 91 on there is only worth 12 because the bidding didnt go any higher. There is no way, lol. Even one reasonable offer it would be gone.

Its a different crowd trying to buy these which makes it difficult to sell.

THe responses (and hate mail/pms) Ive had on forums, Craigslist and the 'bay are all by the exact same people who do nothing but lowball and part these out . Its almost enteraining. Its like your boss tryig to convince you your engineering degree is only worth $12/ hr because he is cheap and could use a good laugh.
