It all started with planning an innocent trip to the local indoor kart track for lunch.

One of the loud mouth bosses at work couldn't keep his mouth shut about how slow he thinks I am. He won't race, so he offers up his best employee to race against me. This guy has some serious manhood issues.

But I can talk my fair share of trash too. Now we've got $100 on the line for tomorrow afternoon. His two bosses will be there, I brought a few guys, and now suddenly 7 people from the office are going. Should be the most unproductive day ever.

I've only run 3 races there so far. This other guy supposedly raced for a few hours when the whole company reserved the track recently. Fair enough.

I will post the results tomorrow...

I'm trying to figure out how we'll set up the race so nobody has anything to cry about.

They typically just throw you out there and keep track of best lap time and position.

But with other slower racers on the track, it can be a mess.

I'm thinking we'll do 2 races starting 1-2 and then 2-1. If I'm running 33-34sec lap times, I'll catch the last place guy in probably 5 laps. So I've got to do the dirty deeds right off the start and pass him and get some distance between us.

I really wish I was capable of having fun with stuff like this. I take it too damn seriously.

I hope he isn't much ligher than you. With similar skillz the smaller driver will destroy all at a Kart track.

After seeing your results from the last time----
You'll kick ass.

The objective here ist to shutup the loudmouth.

This works well for me when a C5/6er looks down at the C4.
How about 5 laps on the big track, either car for a grand?

At the real kart races, you have to bolt on lead.

you haven't met CC, have you?

That would be a real trick... trust me.

Statistically speaking, I don't think it's possible.

Is he going to ask for a weigh in before?

If so, will it be like PINKS only it's ballast instead of car length?

LOL! I told him to bring a pen and a ream of paper so his driver can write down all his excuses.

This is the same guy that drives a Boxster, and a new Mustang GT before that, and always drones on about how slow my vette is, as if I ever claimed it was fast. I didn't say much other than invite him to the dragstrip and road course over and over again. But I think his wife/warden wouldn't give him the keys.

Its always the guys with the least room to talk that talk the most.

Geez. Now after all that they want to postpone it 2 weeks. Some excuses about meetings, travel, etc. Why not tomorrow?

Sorry guys. If this cock-for-brains ever shows, I'll keep you guys posted. I'm going today regardless.

He's asking me for my laptimes, but he's telling me his ringer laps in under 30 seconds. I know this is BS because the track record is a 32.4. This coming from the same guy that thinks his stock Mustang GT runs 12s.

Forget the karts... you should push him to run his mustang against your Vette.

That happened up here in NY. Except the kid with the Vette showed up with a 150 shot of Nitrous two days later. $1000 richer, he was able to keep the Nitrous, and the other guys dignity. (This wasn't me might i add).

Just my $0.02

Good Luck in any event. Your a hard *SS Central, I know you'll take him!!

He doesn't have the Mustang anymore. Just a boxster. Which is probably about as fast. I like racing anything, anywhere and I don't gloat about being any faster than my timeslips show, but I don't enjoy people wasting my time.

I sincerely want to see these types of people show up at the track, hoping they'll lose the ego and actually learn something and maybe become a part of the hobby.

Because they can never be proven wrong. That's why I only state the obvious - I'm 100% right in all conversations

I've had people tell me they're going to come to the track for years and kick my ass. Strange that they've never showed. Yet still, every time I see them, it's "let me know when you're going next, I'll come." Now I tune them out like white noise.

I probably should.

I went today anyways for a little practice. It's interesting how much the track temperature and tire temps effect even those little karts.

Yea, Big Time.

Same thing with a racecar on slicks, like practicing at Laguna at 8:30 a.m. (any day of the year, the track's ice cold) and qualifying after lunch when the track's at 100.
