Hi guys. Brut is a personal friend of mine that I get to see a few times a year when I make it to Louisville with my Fiancee to see her family. He asked me to join, and post a thread to show you all my black '77 Vette. Basically I like to make my own parts and come up with fun and radical ideas to make my car my own. It's nowhere near stock anymore, and I have plenty of fun stuff planned for it.

Oh, I visit the local Hooters every Thursday during the summer for bikini car washes, and so long as you guys don't mind I'll post a few of my favorite pics too. LOL.

Here's my car...feel free to ask questions as it would take me FOREVER to go over and list everything I have done to this car.

The new engine is still being built. It's almost finished minus a cam. It's a 400 bored +.020, making it a 405. I did a roller retrofit so it's a roller 405, and with the aluminum Vortec heads I'm getting a 10.15:1 static CR. Aggressive cam, hoping it'll make 450+ HP and close to 500 TQ.

Welcome to the Forum!!

Sweet Car!!

I am very impressed with the work you have done so far. What's nice about everything you have done is that it is tasteful.

Where is that accessory belt system from, that looks awesome??

Love the L88 hood and sidepipes on the later C3, and the spoiler

When I was a kid I built a model that looked just like it.

Thanks for the compliments.

The serpentine stuff is stock GM F-body brackets and some accessories. I deleted the A/C and smog with delete pulleys and have upgraded to a CS130 alternator. in fact, when my engine is finished it'll have dual chrome CS130 alternators for a unique and symmetrical look and plenty of power. The power steering pump sits out at a greater angle so you can actually get to the filler neck. The brackets bolt right up to the block and heads, and you have to use a long reverse flow water pump. In this regard it's limiting because this means electric fan because there is no room for the mechanical and it'll be spinning the wrong way.

I can help anyone interested in finding the right brackets, accessories, pulleys, and such. It's a really cool swap and looks great on a fresh engine like the one I did for Curt.

Very nice work on all accounts. I like customization like that. Practical and not tacky in the least bit!

As far as the Hooter's car washes, guys get mad if you *don't* post pics, so be prepared....lol.

"A Few Extra Brake Lights - Can anyone spot them all?"
I see the 4 in the back, led bar across top halo, two in the side vents.

Great job overall!

Durango_boy very very nice mods on your 77! Cudo's! I keep up with your mods on another forum too and have tried to replicate a few of your mods on my 76. For those that don't know his work and his knowledge...he will be has to be a big asset here as well. I was trying to find information on installing some LED bulbs in my rear markers and it took me to the Corvette Forum and one of your inspiring threads. Great work!

Yep, thanks, and it's actually interesting how many people talk to me in traffic about how mice it is to be able to see my brake lights while driving on one of my rear quarters where they normally would not see my taillights.

Thanks so much, I'll just try to be a good forum member and help who I can.

Here's a 'sneak peak' of my marker lights as they will be when I'm finished. Basically I wanted 1157 bulbs in my markers so I could piggy back them off of the driving and signal lights so they do what the front and rear lights do. The housing was too small for a standard 1157 socket so I improvised. I ended up with a very visible LED 1157 solution. I have amber for the front two and red for the rear two.

I'll start a thread when I get them finished and installed. Very easy to see and very bright when they blink with the signals and hazards.

Very cool. Anyone can bolt parts on, but I love seeing the custom work, no matter how big or small.

I came across those ford focus fans also when looking for a dual fan set. Do you have the measurements on it? I may have to check at the junkyard, but I believe it was close to the size of the core on my truck.

I'll try and get the fan shroud measurement for you if you can get me the measurement of the core on your truck. I put a set of fans from a Chrysler car in my Dodge truck and they worked great. I actually bought two sets, one for the Vette...and then it was too wide for the Vette. Fit great in my truck though.

Basically I have a new fan set in my garage that isn't being used and I'd like to sell it to someone that can use it.

The set of Chrysler fans I have is too big for a C3 without heavy shroud modifications. The Focus fans were JUST the same size as the core of the radiator when you consider the upper A-arms as obstacles.

The later model Ford Taurus fans are a fantastic electric fan upgrade for the C3 as well because of the perfectly sized shroud, 17" fan, and super high speed fan motor. It's a little easier to install because of the one motor, and they are cheap on Ebay and from salvage yards.

I can help someone find that one if they need one. Here's a quick paper I threw together for the install of the Focus fans.

http://photos.imageevent.com/durango_ ... Focus%20Fan%20Install.pdf

The Chrysler fan set would be ideal for someone with a truck or large car.
