Nice, easy project for a change! Got the 'grill' material from home depot: aka-gutter covers! Picked up the led lights from Auto Zone...

That looks awesome, even being so subtle.
I did that to mine too...I really like the results, and it adds a 'new' look to it. |

Another easy way to get those vents to light up is to soak the motor in gasoline and start it up.

I would like to try this. How is it secured to the inside of the panel ?

nothing really passes through, except air. The radiator stops everything...
I like the look. I would do mine with green LEDs |

I cut a single piece, folded it so that it would fit inside the panel openings nice and tight. Then, I used gorilla glue along the edge that is in contact with the inside of the panel, and it's in there nice and tight. As Bogus stated, nothing passes through there but air, and I don't think the inserts would decrease the air flow that much anyway. The lights are secured by double sided tape. All together, material costs were less than 10 bucks! My kinda project! |

Thanks Andy! I thought about installing red ones in there! Also thought about wiring them to the turn signals, but it just wouldn't be as cool, IMO! I'd have to sit in the garage with the blinkers or emergency flashers on to admire the lights! |
