Well, not so simple. This is the last 2 summers. I HATE housework. I had to add 5/8 plywood totally around the bottom floor to even things up. Put on housewrap, new windows, 1/2 inch styrofoam insulation and (heavy) cementboard siding. I also had to build new stairs and put in new redwood railing. Put in a dry creek to start the landscaping.
All of this was done with no help except that I had a friend help me lift in the 2 sliding glass doors. Putting in 5ft. by 5ft windows by yourself is fun. And putting a 6ft stepladder on top of an 8ft scaffold to reach the peaks got a little hairy.
Did I mention thet I HATE housework?

Yea, Tommy, Lowes, it was less expensive than the Tyvek brand by a good bit. The siding came from HD.

With the housewrap, extra insulation and windows, my heating costs dropped 60%.

Does anyone actually enjoy housework?

The best part of home improvement is being done with it. Nice work! I'm not sure if it makes me feel motivated or just useless.

Ah sir, that is the probem, don't ya know.

I can't make the payments and make payments on an addition and drive racecars.

So, the house will be for sale.

I want a 6 car on an acre with any kind of house attached with no house payments.

Thanks, Jim. The "pros" who origionally built the house did things like installing the sliding glass doors with 6 nails.

Shoulda had you here to try and match the texture on all the interior repairs.
