How many do we have? I only know of two, and only one posts much.

I just wanna know who to bug when my case of Z Fever starts to get worse.

I almost bought a neglected one that I found in Colorado just before I bought my Ruby. A fellow from CF named -=JEFF=- ended up buying it and did a nice job bringing it back to life. I don't regret my decision, but ever since it was almost a possibility, I have had a little voice in the back of my head.

Then I got to drive 81c3's car a few months ago.

I started thinking I wanted a C5Z because I was going to put some real miles on a Vette with my Amigo being my other vehicle.

But since the Lincoln is such a nice DD, I can save the miles on the Vette for nice days and special occasions.

Even after owning my ruby for nearly two years, I get a little rush when I see another C4 that I simply don't get when I spot a C5.

Anyway, recent events have me thinking about ZR-1s again.

They're not that expensive. If business keeps up the way it has been, I can pull it off next spring or summer. I want a driver, not a queen. So a tick under $20k pays for admission.

Plenty of them for sale.

You need a dash between the R and the 1 in order for them to not be expensive ;-)

well chris i went to get a 90 zr1 last year. idrove to fairfield ohio to look at it. after driving it and looking it over. i decided not to get it.
the blose was screwed up- the transmission had a noise in it i didnt like and there was a oil leak on the right front cylinder head.
decided not to get it. the guy also had a 40th sitting there and i came home with it.
i love the car-its classy and low maintenance.
wow jeff youve done a great job of rehabbing that one. it looks great.

That looks SWEET Jeff!!! Awesome!

I am sure you can find a nice ZR-1 driver for under $20k.

Hell, under $15k.

the ones worth any money are the 30 mile trailer queens, and they are still a loss for the original purchaser! Those are selling in the $65k area... figure they bought it new 20 years ago, that means they paid a markup from hell - $20k+ - toss in inflation... and they have lost their shirts. And never got to enjoy the car. How tragic.

so far yes, now that most is sorted out

Wheels I cannot wait for either, but the $$ for tires is just not there, plus I REALLY Want to Powder coat the center of the wheels first.. nothing but time though

Next Friday I am tackling the front end and installing my front coilovers

Yeah crash, I would have passed on that one too.

I'll be looking for a reasonably clean 60k mile car with no engine issues. The radio won't concern me. Wouldn't use it in a Z.

Hey Chris, I have been considering selling my 92 Z. I want to maybe get into a 67 Nova or Chevelle or something like that. I just miss the lumpy cam sound and pulling 2nd gear with a 4:10 rear..... You could put this car in your garage for $22k with all the take off parts included. It has some nice mods and needs nothing.

Would be hard for me to do better than that, John. I know how you keep your cars. We'll see how the money flows over the next several months, unless you find another buyer.

You'll have to get another someday though. I know it. How would you handle seeing that car dirty?

My wife is off Tuesday/Wednesday next week. Maybe we can get together.

It would surely have to written in a binding, everlasting contract upon sale that the Z never accumulate dirt on, in or near the car!! I'm only considering it at this point, so I'm in no hurry to sell it. If I do get real serious about it, you can have first crack at it.

Call me when you get around to it. I'm working up towards Westcliffe, so no phone service in the morning. I usually work 1/2 a day everyday, if possible

Ouch!

Actually, the ZR-1 is a pretty fast car right out of the box! Mine has all new Accel injectors and coils in it as well as Stainless Works headers, no cats, B&B "cat back", and a Haibeck prom tune, so its a tad faster than when it was born.

Sorry, John, didn't mean your car in particular. Just a little sarcasm is all. After all, I have an L98 You've got a great looking Z and I bet it's fast the way Chris drools all over it. I'd love to see it in person one day.
