Good Morning CGs!

I got to tinker with the car yesterday and successfully pissed off the wife in the process. How is that my fault? I told her 3 days ago I'm gonna work on my car. So she says to me, why don't you go outside and work on your car. I go outside and work on my car. Next question, "aren't you done working on your car" Arrrggghhhh. I feel like Charlie Brown. Someone kill me now. But I did clean the IAC and adjust the idle, so that was good. Seemed smoother after that. When I was done, I decided to go seafoam it finally since the can's been sitting there 4 months. I videotaped it, too. I'll post it up later once I get it all put together.

Everyone must have had Monday depression yesterday, because chat was like a ghost town. Let's have some more activity today, ok????

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Last work day for a week - we head out around 9 tomorrow morning for Colorado. I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to forget to pack.

Have a great day, all!

Didn't do much yesterday, Washed the pickup after the excursion at the river (it needed it pretty badly) and played Men's night golf last night.....well I should say that I went out and swung the clubs, I played like cr@p. Our team shot -3, no help from me. That didn't finish in the money, but last night was steak night and the steak was good. Not much planned for today either.

Matt, tell the wife you will never get done working on the car, so just get used to it. Nothing new in GA today, just another hot day for today.

Today I need to start prepping stuff for a family visit - they are flying into ATL tomorrow and we are taking them tent camping in FL next week. (Dont ask - it seemed like a good idea when we booked it...)

So I need to get all the tents and air mattresses checked out and try to do my day job too. At least it's easy to have a conference call in one ear (bluetooth) and mess with camping gear at the same time.

The wonders of modern technology!

Back at the shop today after 2 days of travel and 3 days of fishing Lake Erie. Great trip, but I've never fished a lake like that before. It beat me to death. I'm used to nice calm TN lakes. But it was a great adventure. We fished 2 different spots out of Painsville. Can't remember the names. I went with my retired Uncle that fishes up there everyday.
Already planning my next one. It will be Fly fishing, but not sure where yet.

Lake Erie is really a strange lake. It can be calm as glass one minute and have 6-8 ft swells the next. Plus it is very, very choppy. Did you catch some nice Walleye? They are definitely good eating.

Equipoise

The pose one assumes when their hood is open and the engine bay shows it is more than adequately equipped.

Well, made breakfast for the both of us this morning then I got in a nice little workout. Just got back from wally world and autozone, picked up some oil change supplies and a set of rear pads for the xterra. Gonna try to fix the weedwhacker and then cut the grass. It's humid as heck today, so I'm trying to get my pool in shape, as well. Lots to do!

Today SUCKED!

I get up at 4am, load the bike and leave by 5am to go to Fresno.

Gas up, all is well....

Start driving and I get some 60 miles from home, in the Castaic pass, in the middle of NOWHERE (no call boxes, no off ramps - NOWHERE) and the bike dies.

For no reason, just looses power. Thus the morning goes....

It's 6:30am, I'm trying toexplain to a ditz AAA operator where I am (that would be NOWHERE).

Tow truck shows up, we get all loaded and start back.

Get the bike to my mechanic - it's running on 1 cylinder (this is NOT good when all you have is 2 cylinders)...

Turns out it burned an exhaust valve.....

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that sucks about the bike I'm always worried the vette will suffer a similar fate in the middle of nowhere, hence I only drive around town.

Ouch... Sorry to hear about your troubles on the road. Always a worry on a trip like that. Is it an expensive fix? Sounds like it.

I'm hoping it comes in under $500.

I've got a good wrench guy, he's always been more than fair on pricing.

He's going to see if the head needs to be machined, if so it's going to be down for a week or 2 - if not I'll get it back maybe on the weekend.

Either way, he's going to knock off the carbon buildup on both sides, do a tuneup and whatever else it needs (figured why not while it's all apart)....

At least my other bike is running great, so it's not a terrible thing....

Although, my wrench is selling his LT (in showroom condition) for $13,500.....

So, anyone want to loan me some $$$$$????????

Matt, are you really worried about the Vette, or is it that odd looking ankle bracelet that keeps you in town?

Took mom to the doctors yesterday.

They remove a cyst on her eye with a laser.
Seems they sometimes form after cataract surgery.
Nice of them to tell her, she was worried her congenital failure was worse after failing her driver's eye exam.

They need to do the other one next week.
They only do one at a time.
Which makes sense, again nice of them to tell us.

Our division had a Barbecue today.

FREE FOOD whoohoo!
