I want another Corvette pretty bad... but I don't want to get rid of my 94. Back in 2001 when I got my 94 I was really shopping for a C3, and I still have a hard-on for a nice looking C3 even a rubber bumper late C3 is cool to me since this is the time frame I got my drivers license and always thought the mid 70 Corvette was a "real" Corvette.

However,.... I do love the newer C5 and C6 cars and both are coming within reach to buy. I'm a man of modest income based on the fact that I'm house poor and will need to borrow money no matter what car I eventually decide on.

Just curious if you guys are as wishy-washy as I am about your next Corvette?

I know that if I buy another C3 in my life it'll be a '73. I love the rubber front bumper mixed with the chrome rear bumper of the early GREATS. I'd either put a modern 6.2L LS into it or go with an L88 clone engine.

I know for sure though that my next new car will be a C6...or C7, depending on when I can buy a new car.

Last year I had almost convinced myself that a C5 (with aftermarket seat heaters) or a 3LT C6 would make a practical daily driver, if equipped with winter tires. Then I spun a rod bearing and those thoughts had to be set aside for the time being. But why not go for it? They're a blast to drive, huge bang for the buck and pretty economical to boot.

I've always said if I were to add another vette to the stable it would be a C2.

Only other I would think about is a 95 ZR1 or a C6Z once they get into the teens.

LOL Brad... that very car is on my "Watch" list. It is on its second or third re-list. I'd be all over that for 16K and it matches my 94.... BUT

I'm fickle!

If I get a new corvette, I need to get a new wife to go along with it. Maybe not such a bad thing?

The only thing I'm positive about is: Don't sell the one you have to get another.
I've had 7 of them, still have #5 and #7.
And I miss the ones I sold.

When I get the next one, I'm keeping these 2.

I think it's a kind of insanity.
I'm a man of modest means too. I can only justify one Corvette.

Sometimes I think of what I have in my current vette and think I'd be nuts to get rid of it. Other times, I think I've spent enough, and a later C4 would be nice. Then, I think, a C5 is newer, not that expensive with lots of gains. But then I think, having an older Corvette is cool. And then I think...

You get the picture.

Thank God I'm not alone. Just today I looked at least five C5 Z06 online! But I just can't really justify it yet.

I still like to window shop. Very, very dangerous. Keeps your mind in the above mentioned loop. Keep in mind that between my wife and I, we own 7 vehicles. A box truck, 2 pick ups, a Yukon, 2 911s and 2 vettes. Like I need another vehicle. Plus there's a 20' boat. I could drive something different every day of the week. Lots of days I don't even leave the house. My insurance company loves me.

If you can't find the passion in it, then you are not ready.

I will put it this way:

When I bought my Vette, I wasn't really wanting to be in the market. I was enjoying not having a car payment, and my 94 Prelude VTEC was running great.

But in early June 2000, the Lude was in a small accident, and the repairs left me cold... mostly because the claims adjuster from Travlers was a damned moron.

I was very concerned about front end damage, considering the alignment required.

But I wasn't comfortable with the Lude anymore, and so I went shopping...

I am in the same boat now, the Vette is paid off, and I have no real desire for a debt. I find the lack of debt a bigger high than the desire for a new car (which = a long term financial committment I (we) don't want or need).

Don't get me wrong, I have my list, but at this time, the list will be there... and I still have the luxury of owning a Vette.

Now... what would I do if my 92 suddenly came to a tragic end? I would more than likely go late C5 coupe.

Sarah can't wait until we can afford to get me a new C6. I think she knows how passionate I am about Corvettes and getting a new one. He have such little debt anyway that a financial commitment for a new car this early in our lives is perfectly acceptable. She got her Saab last summer and I hope in the next couple years we can go get me my C6.

I'm in the two Corvettes category. My '74 and '95 are nice until something needs fixed on both.
