Good Morning CGs!

Well, looking forward to the high of 45* today

Tried to go out and do a little clean-up grinding on the intake manifold last night. I figured if I worked for about and hour I'd be done with everything. Well, I got about 10 minutes in to things, and the damn little spindle that the sanding roll wraps on snapped in half. Oh well, it was a cheap POS, but I wish it would have lasted another hour. Oh well. I might stop by HD today and see if they have anything. The last one was from HF and came with 10 sanding rolls for like 3 or 4 bucks, can't complain too much. I also need to get an inexpensive air ratchet and still looking for an engine leveler. Once I have all that, I should be good to go.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I'll be getting ready to leave soon. Looks like a dreary overcast day with a good potential for rain. That'll make my 4 hour drive that much more interesting. Guess I'll spritz the windshield with some Rain-X before I go. My mother (83) will be keeping me busy. She wears me out whenever I go for a visit. It's been a few months since I've seen her. We talk on the phone from time to time. She likes me to stop in for a face to face visit for a few days. We'll be going to the Hungarian Club dinner/dance. They have performers, sometimes from the old country. You should see the peoples' eyes light up as they jump to the dance floor to swing and sway to their favorite songs of a by-gone era. They BYOB and have a blast. For me, I don't drink and don't care to dance but I do like to eat.

Have a wonderful day. Make it memorable.

Good Morning Gurus!

I went to Art Goldberg's funeral last night and it was very emotional for everyone present including myself. I thought these things (funerals) would get easier the more I attend, but it seems like it only gets worse. For me, thoughts creep into my mind about how I will feel to be the son up there delivering a eulogy for my own father and it just brings up so many emotions. My dad is still here with me, and I want to make that time as good as I can. Additionally, we meet people all the time, some we get to know a little, but we can know someone for years and not even begin to know them on a personal level. Art's funeral opened up so much to me. He had such a fruitful and colorful life it is beyond description. His association with our Corvette Club, although huge to us in CCA, was only dot on the timeline of this man's life. His wife and children are so very lucky to have lived and loved this man.

With that said, I hope all of you have a wonderful day and wish you a happy weekend.

Remember... Funerals are a celebration of life. In order to die you have to have lived. Live each day well.

I'm supprised, my HF leveler hasn't broken, $25, the heaviest thing I've had on it was a SBC long block.

Also, supprised, my Campbell Hausfield 3/8ths air ratchet works well, bought it on a closeout for $20 just for the hell of it. At least with a ratchet, you're not looking for the "impact" part of the tool.
Noticed one in Sears the other day for $30 and a Chicago Pnuematic for $64.

Happy Friday to all. Today we get an extended lunch hour because the kids did such a good job supporting our b-ball teams at the sub-state tourney.

I've been working on some house plans here. It's going to be a spec house. I'm going to be in on it, but I don't have to put up any money...just time and work...sweat equity so to speak. We have a new doctor coming to town and there really aren't any houses fit for a doctor.

Not much planned for the weekend, a little work in the shop.

I have an air ratchet and impact from HF, they work good enough for what I use them for.

Big night tonight! Getting 55 out of storage and fire it up. Its been on blocks since Oct. Battery has been on a trickle charger all winter. Last year when I fired it up baby mice came flying out the tailpipe. Cool! This year I put a rubber ball in both exhaust outlets.

Good morning, Gurus!

Looks to be another beautiful day in the neighborhood!

I'm trying to enjoy my current light work schedule cuz once April hits, I'll be busy busy!

Have a great trip, Tommy!

I think funerals and memorials, while sad of course, do offer us the glimpse into more of the whole person. As you said Don, his CCA work was just one piece, it's amazing how much more you learn about a person at the end, and I wonder how I didn't know more about the person when they were alive? But am still glad to know them through the memories of others, after all, it's the memories that last.

I had all kinds of huge plans for today, clean house, rake yard, run errands, get stuff from Wal Mart, then I made the mistake of checking on the vette.

Quite a few years ago, I took some motorsport college classes for transmission overhauling. Every time the teacher explained something he would say "now don't fuck this up, or the trans will burn up". It pretty much applied to evry piece inside. No pressure....

Well, the antibiotics are helping the infection and bronchitis, but now she has cold symptoms - runny nose, tired, coughing. She's falling apart! Maybe it's time to trade her in for a newer model
