Was on my way to Ohio, just outside of Nashville the car stuttered, then in the rearview mirror I saw pale blue smoke, then white smoke, then the engine shutdown.... My mechanic said it appears the fuel regulator malfunctioned and sprayed fuel into the engine and everywhere else...

Two questions; 1, is this a problem that is easy to fix, and 2, how much would you ask for a 93 40th anniversary (275k on the clock)in decent condition?

sounds like with 275k you got some use out of it.. nothing lasts forever.

a regulator is around $50

on an LT1 it's easy to get to

this is an F-body
a Corvette is similar

Stormy, Stormy, Stormy

I don't believe it's an expensive fix. With 275K on the clock there won't be people knocking down your door to buy it. You could get a pos daily driver and work the 93 into a weekend warrior. You know you'd miss it. But I can understand the recent let downs are working on your nerves a little. You know with the C4's it's always something. Why don't you just fix it and go give it a good spanking.

perhaps TommyT, but I test drove a new Camaro SS 6 speed today (cause my car is still in the shop), and I believe it would definitely take my mind off of my constantly needing repair C4.....

Update.... the mechanic said the fuel regulator dumped fuel into the engine which mixed with the oil and even got into the exhaust system.... He was able to drain it, dry out the fuel (especially in the exhaust pipes), refill with oil and started it up after letting it sit for a day or so.... He said there was no engine damage and that I was lucky.... so that's the long and short of it....

I sold him the car, used the money for the downpayment on a 2010 Camaro 2SS 6 speed... its been great getting to know you guys.... take care...

VEEEERRRRRRY SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!

I Love the new Camaro - In stock trim the new Camaros were running 13.50s at the track all day Sunday. Some were high 13s some were a little lower. Pretty good for off the shelf product.

I agree, congrats.
Don't breath in the new car smell though. Plasticizer migration is what that is, and it is a carcinogen. Crack the windows as much as you can for a few miles before firing up the air conditioner.

Everything we love causes cancer!! enjoy the carcinogenic aroma as much as you like! You have to die somehow! It may as well be with a smile on your face.

If you saw the confidential files I have seen, you would rather drink gasoline, and gargle nuclear waste. Plasticizer migration is bad shit.

I still feel sick every time I drive for a long while in my wife's car (2008 Rogue). Been that way since day one. She thinks I'm imagining things, but I swear I get light headed from that plastic smell.

here is the info on the car and a few more pics....

2010 Camaro 2SS, Inferno Orange Metallic, manual 6 speed, two toned orange and grey interior, and the RS package which includes sunroof, HID headlights, bluetooth, usb, and mp3 connectors. It is 1 of 341 cars with that combination of features. There were 4300 camaros produced and painted inferno orange metallic. There you have it....

my impressions so far.... this car is faster, quieter, and handles better than my vette. I attribute that to the advances in technology between 1993 and 2010... One review said the Camaro is like a nimble tank, and I suppose it is because it is definitely wider than my vette was, yet it doesn't feel overly large if that makes sense.... overall so far it is an awesome car and I am still learning its road characteristics. It pulls hard in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. After the break-in period I will have to try driving it with the stabili-trak off and competition mode on... It even has something called a launch button that I am anxious to try.... so that's my review so far...

That Camaro is really sweet! I wasn't that crazy about them when they first came out, but have come around and dig the hell out of 'em now. Congrats!

VERY nice. I was stationed at Redstone for 6 mos. in 1971.
Bought my '50 Merc. down there.
Loved cruising the back roads except for one or two scary "Deliverance" moments.
I'm sure it has changed in 40 years.
Good luck with the new ride.
