Yer ice sickles are famous!

I hope this isn't like last winter for you guys... that was tragic. I still can't beleive how cool it was that far south in mid-March. It was pleasent, yes, but shockingly cool.

We went out and turned on the sprinklers last night before bedtime at 11:00 PM. They ran all night till I got there at 9:45 this morning. I had to put in 4 hours just standing stuff up the wind blew over yesterday. We really won't know the outcome for a few days. Been trying to stay away from plants too sensitive to cold. Between hurricanes and freezes we've lost a small fortune. Anyway, I've been working more lately. Crop insurance sucks. Dropped it and pocket the premium now instead.

What is the business across the street? Looks like a bunch of rectangular holes in the ground going on there.

Fish farm. They manufacture fish food. Thankfully, no foul odors.

You must have seen the aerial.

Good luck. The idea of being being at the mercy of the weather like that would give me an ulcer.

Native Florida plants, some endangered, tropical foliage, palms, exotic fruit trees, ground cover. Basically plants used in local landscapes. Plants that attract birds and butterfies too.

Here are some pics from a jobsite. These are the types of plants she installs. Some she grows, some she buys from other growers.

She also does local plant shows and festivals. Small operation. I get to help her on a regular basis with deliveries, repairs, maintenance, pick ups and honey do's

With what I pay you? Damn... you are living large! I mean, the occasional hand-me-down shirt must go a long ways in Miami.

;)

Any luck getting that lot?

We closed on the 1 acre parcel Monday. The lease was cheap ($1 a year) but to own it gives us long term stability. Planning for the next 10 years. Thanks for asking.

Good lock on getting the garage, er,... House.

I have a house rule with my plants. They get water regularly, the rest is up to them.

Free promotion continues

WSVN, the local Fox affiliate, stopped by and wired her up for a walk through the nursery and interview. I know they'll cut out a ton of what they took but any exposure is good exposure. Her old customers will call and new customers will find out about her. I'll have to record the newscast to catch it later this evening. If they link it I'll post it. I heard the other story was Front Page. Cool.
