Here are some highlights, lowlights and just plain hideous cars from the Detroit show.
Caddy's new racecar, hope it is at Sebring in a few weeks ! The new Camaro Convertible was everywhere ! Since this is a Corvette Forum... And Why Mercedes did this is beyond me. So there you have it. I like the new gull wing car from Mercedes but I do NOT like that color.
Wish it were more affordable. |

The Mercedes color was really hideous. Kind of a greenish yellow neon. I quess it was to draw attention to the fact it is an electric vehicle. The side of the car has an E-cell emblem on it.

The CTS-V looks HOT. Sadly, SCCA World Challenge is no longer doing Sebring. That SUCKS. I will protest. However, the chance still exists for the GPLB in April... but they run after the Indy Cars on Sunday; and we go on Saturday. Unless they reset the schedule, I will never get to see them. The entire schedule: March 25-27, 2011 Streets of St. Petersburg April 15-17, 2011 Streets of Long Beach April 29 - May 1, 2011 Miller Grand Prix May 20-22, 2011 Mosport Grand Prix August 5-7, 2011 Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course August 26-27, 2011 Infineon Grand Prix September To Be Announced October To Be Announced @Kenny & Bruce - you both have a shot in August! |

Normally, I can't accuse Mercedes of copying styling cues like the Koreans but that car looks like an amalgam to me.
I see C2 Corvette in the roof, 240Z in the front end, and Porsche or BMW in the rear. Maybe it's just the view angle. |

Flyboy - It's probably the angle. I'll try to load another view or 2 tonight.
Andy - Mid-Ohio is definitely on my schedule for all 3 of their major races - IndyCar, ALMS and Rolex. |
