Great opportunity to sock away some coin but it does come with risk. When I was young and carefree I would take on an adventure like that. Use it as a stepping stone to future success. Guru mojo.

Those OCONUS contract jobs are good money and an easy way to put $$$ back. You sleep in provided housing - whatever that is depends on where you are but it ranges from a baracks room to a 15 man GP tent with a commercial AC/heat unit attached. I stayed in the latter for 9 months on my last deployment in 2004 and it really wasn't that bad IMO. You eat at the DFAC and the food is danm good. There is a free gym, USO shows and in some of the places PX/Store with KFC or Subway or Burger King. We had KBR guys handle all the Generator maint and they were a real good group of guys.

There is some risk over there but it is really minimal. Support personel in Iraq are based in very secure areas and aside from the occasional stray mortor round you have nothing to worry about except staying off the internetz and blowing all the hard earned $$$ you'll be making. Remember the first 80K is tax free....

All I can say is congrats on the job. It sounds like something you've really been wanting to do and I hope you enjoy the experience.
Good luck
Will
