I'm just now (2:30am) working on hitting the sack. Got off work a bit ago and got busy here on the lower control arms of my dd truck. I'm doing ball joints and bushings. Last w'kend I got one ball joint out, but the other decided to be a "female dog" about it, so I took it to a shop. Got some new bushings and the old ones slid out slick as snot. Just remove the inner steel sleeve, and the rubber loses a lot of it's friction to hold it in. Once I figgered that out, 20 minutes, tops. Went to put in the new ones and I think they're wrong because they just slide in mostly. Then when you pull it thru, it pops back out and won't stay at all. So now I gotta go back to the shop and show 'em these Moog's might be either wrong, or mis-packaged. Problem is the missuz wants me to go out looking for a new suit this AM. She's under the impression I want to go to some wedding this Saturday after I been working the past three weeks without a day off except when I played hooky one day. As Tim Allen once said, "I'd rather have my balls pounded flat with a wooden mallet!"

Hmmmmm interesting analogy Bob, one I will not try and think of a lot today......I am up early to check on rainfall around the area and see that we have another round coming at us.

Yesterday I drove the Vette into the Capital city to stop by my accountant and do some other chores. My wife said it was a fun day for me. I was worried about getting rained on but the skies cleared up and the humidity came up enough that I had to run the air. That sucks some power out of the engine. What do you lose 5 or 10 horsepower? Anyway it was kinda a fun day for me.

Today will depend on the weather but I'm betting we will be getting more rain. Have a good day doing what you do Guru's!

Good Morning Guys!

Not much happening here. I have not had any time to play around with the car. Maybe tonight. Humidity!! Holy cow its like 89 and 90% humidity here and its not even summer yet. The weather is crazy. It was cool and chilly for so long and the past few days have been hot and humid. I get soaked from sweat just standing still in the garage its so humid. I guess that's what I get for living near the water.

I got an email from a guy that's looking at a 1988 Anniversary Model C4 with 32k miles on it and a $12k price tag. He said it was in excellent condition. So based on the July 2011 Corvette Magazine C4 Buyers guide I told him it was a fair price and worth considering if he checks it out thoroughly. I'd like to run across something like that with money in my pocket. LOL

Have a good day... chat later

I think that 88 model was one of the 5 C4 cars they recommend to own since only 2K of them were made. Sounds like a good deal.

Good Morning CGs!

Picked up some new sillcocks yesterday at HD to replace the two on the house. $25 a piece...wow. But hopefully they'll last a while. Another neighbor was gonna come by last night and help me install them but didn't get a chance. So I cut the grass. Tonight after work I'm supposed to help a buddy lay some sod. I won't stay too long, though, I've got other stuff to do. Also, our sprinkler guy is supposed to come by and give an estimate on rebuilding our landscaping retention wall. Trying to spruce up the yard a bit, I'm trying to keep up with my neighbors

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Bob, Remember .... Sometimes it's better to get your nuts whacked with a mallet than piss off the ol lady. Not that I have any real experience in that area .... Never been a huge fan of 35th Anniverary Vettes. No white leather for me, thanks. Marcus, I'd rather crank on the A/C and lose 10 hp than roast and toast. JMO. Matt, Help a buddy lay some sod? Hope you don't mind being dirty and sweaty for the next chore you have planned after that. Key word .... dirty.

Yesterday Tommy Doubtfire visited the house. In addition to the routine house chores he scrubbed the main bathroom spotless and cleaned on top of the kitchen cabinets which happens to have lots of dusty and dirty bottles, pans and collectibles. One reason I was hoping to move is that everything could be thrown out, given away, consolidated cleaned and whatever you keep put into a clean house. When you live in a house for 26 years there's bound to be some dusty and dirty areas. The last time every nook and cranny was gone through was 19 years ago thanks to Hurricane Andrew. It's amazing how much stuff we've collected over that time. If you guys remember a couple of months ago, I was gonna start going through mountains of paperwork around here ..... Well I'm gonna start that pretty soon ...... Ya , one of these days ....... soon ....

Happy Hump Day! Mojo to all in the path of these wicked tornadoes that keep popping up - unreal! Drizzly and dreary here today, a good day to stay indoors and keep one's distance from wooden mallets.

Have a good one, yawlz!

Bill you must play the lottery!

Just found out one of my club buddies won $1,000,000 -- yes, million in the Maryland Lottery a few weeks back. I had not heard from him in a month or so, and just found out he's been laying low trying to figure out his next move. Looks like he gets to keep about $650k of it. Nice little winning. Kind of sets you up for an easier retirement.

Not to mention the grease build up from steaks and fried chicken. When I pulled down the first upper cabinet for the kitchen redux, my hand got stuck to the top.

Does anyone really clean up there????
Even the "saveable" collectables were crudy.

I'm cleaning too but the dirt's from the kitchen rebuild.

Tomorrow, I'm headed down to see my buddie's machine shop. I haven't been there since I helped install the roof.
Taking the '67 half shafts down there to use his press and remove the U-joints.

What is unreal about this guy... He won a beautiful 1965 Corvette Coupe about ten years ago in one of those benefit drawings. He then sent it over to Tony's Corvettes for a frame off resto and it's now worth a bunch more. He was also in the middle of renovating his garage to better fit the 65 and his 07 Convertible. I guess that expansion just got bigger! God Bless Him... seriously, I'm glad he won. Lucky bastard!

He's got the car thing covered.. No more additions really required!

Morning guru's. Today should kick start my LTx 383/YSi project. I should hear from the builder when they plan to run the dyno test on my rebuilt engine, and I should be able to start the re-installation and supercharger fitting about mid June. Excited!!

Going to pick up the borrowed engine hoist and stand tonight. I'm getting anxious. I still have some things to do like strip the paint off the SLP runners and ported plenum that I picked up, custom cut the runner gaskets to match, clean up the intake manifold with the sanding drum that I picked up. Go get oil, antifreeze, and some paint for the frame. Then this weekend it's on like Donkey Kong.

I will have to take some pics for the Car show!

Morning guys.....You guys are up and at 'em early today. I'm at school putting in a "VocEd" day. Finishing up the paper work sh!t. It's going to be cool and windy....and I do mean windy 25-50 mph and gusts to 60+. We're on the tail end of that massive storm that has produced all those nasty storms the last few days. But that's pretty much all we've got wind and about .1 inch of rain. South, east and north of us they got some substantial rains.

I'm glad my wife doesn't read this site, she'd be expecting me to be Tommy Doubtfire. Actually I get into those moods and will do that....usually it's in the garage or my shop though. Marcus, have you guys missed most of the nasty stuff? Don, $650K would help out considerably. 35th Anniversary editions are nice, they are pretty. I hope it turns out for your friend. I don't like to think about using a mallet like that...ouch, but I understand the analogy.

Well, I got to head out to meet up with the rest of the VocEd people.

Internet here has been sucky. I hope this goes.

Nice rig...

Of course, C5R = GT1 so we're on the same page.

Although based on the ones for sale last week $650k would only buy one.

Damn I never win anything in the lottery. Might help if I played now and then.

Brad , I read that before but it's just as good the second time around. Tom .... My wife works 8+ hours a day 6 days a week. If I get to stay home and ocasionally do a little housework that's OK with me. We had a cleaning lady before I retired. I had to let her go as part of the finance realignment program. Looks like Arnold has a little financial realignment comimg up soon too.
