Yes, I realize it's only Saturday night at 11:40 for me. Too bad. If you don't like it, complain to a webmaster. Oh wait, that's me.



So I've been MIA for the past couple days. Been pretty busy around the house. During my "staycation" I watched the kids for the first two days, then Friday I started working on BIL's truck. I had to replace both upper and lower ball joints on his 05 F150. It's a 6 hour book rate job. I figured I could tackle it in that. Started early Friday morning and hit problems immediately. BIL's dopey but well-meaning friend worked on the truck before me. Used an air impact to tighten the lugnuts. Great. 12 lugnuts total, got two off. On the third one, snapped the impact socket....really? Really? That involved a trip to the store. PB blaster for a couple hours during that process loosened them up enough to get them off. Disassemble the entire D/S, get the new upper control arm assembly on, fight with bottom ball joint. Use the c-clamp instructions, not correct adapter for ball joint. Screw up the ball joint. Ooops. Figure out a shadetree method, get it installed. Reinstall all components. By now it's 5 pm. WTF? Done for the day. Go to tackle it Sat morning, had purchased a new ball joint from O'Reilly's. That was my mistake. MF'r won't fit. Try everything. Cheap POS Chinese crap. Fight for an hour with it. I mic'd it, wrong tolerances. Go to Carquest, get a new Raybestos for a few dollars more, it is exact OEM specs. I mic'd it, too. But now I have to stop to take the kids to the Easter egg hunt. That breaks up my work for an hour and a half. Get home and back to work. Get new ball joint pressed in without issue. Button it back up around 2 pm. I have over 10 hours into this job. WTF?

During this process, wife leaves for her hair appointment. My mom is watching kids inside. I come in, get cleaned up, start feeding #2 and making dinner for whole family. Feed family, clean kitchen, wife leaves for church with kids. I clean some more then get a workout...finally. After wife gets home, I go back to O'Reilly's to return POS MF'r ball joint. The Dbag counter guy gives me grief like it's my fault. I told him I mic'd it and it's out of tolerance. He looked at me like he didn't know what that meant?!?! Finally got it returned despite Mr A-Hole. Came home, got #2 washed and ready for bed. Wifey took #1 to grandma and grandpas because they are going to county fairgrounds tomorrow to look at animals. I relaxed and had a couple beers. Neighbor came over and we chatted for a bit and then left. Now it's time for bed. Long day(s)...I'm beat.

Wait, isn't this a "staycation"? Guess I never got the memo.

PS, this is not an April Fool's Day joke...this is my life. Feels like a joke sometimes

Oh yeah, it's Nunday...

Jeez, sounds like my days sometimes. I started off to bed earlier, coughing and crap, got up, then saw on FB where some retard is bashing a friend of mine about her weight. I chimed in, he and I got real ugly to one another. I deleted my posts and messaged him and cut it off. He's not man enough to clean up his end of it I guess. Anyway, drug up a bunch of hurtful mess and now I'm not even in the mood for a beer, let alone sleep. Gonna be sunny tomorrow, I'm sitting in the lawn chair all day and start working on an 18 pack of Miller Light. That should do it.

I to had a hectic day that went in a total other direction then I had planned. I got on the internet just looking around for a new car for Ugirl since the ins. co. totalled her Envoy. Some wierd law here in Nebraska that if the car is within 75% of its worth to fix then they total it. So her car was at 76%. So I am hunting around and find a real nice 04 up in Omaha at a dealer and another in Lincoln so I jumped in my C5 and headed out to do some car shopping after researching what they were worth.

Ended up buying the one in the big O for 10,800 which is blue book retail but the car fax on it was a dream. The guy that had it treated it like a Corvette. Oil change every 3K and all the fluids were changed out at 86K and new brakes all around at 92K. The car has 92700 on it now.

Interior is perfect and the body and paint is good also. We got 11K for her totalled Envoy so we are not out any money. It was a long day they started out at 13,600 hahaaaahhaaha. then they went to 11,600 and we ended up at 10,800.......goofballs geez who they think they are messing with....I'm a Guru.....

Then I tried to find an iPad for Uwoman's bday and have had no luck anywhere.....those things are hot right now....I am looking for a New iPad 32gig 4G Verizon in Black if anyone can find one......I can't.

Gotta go big doings again today as we go into the Star City for a bday food fest....have fun today its going to be 90's here.

I'm up, I hear the baby rustling in the crib. About time to get him washed up and make him some breakfast. Folks should come over soon. Then it's off to the inlaws for some lunch and whatnot.

Good morning guys...(you too Letty) I'm up, I slept in after my bad night Friday night. Marcus, I hate the freaking games the stealerships play. I won't do it. I tell them to give me their best deal and if it's close to what I was thinking we'll talk....and if it's not, I'll walk. I've had them try to play their games and I walk out "Hey, don't you want to talk about it?" me "Nope, we are too far apart. If you decide that you want to take my offer, then call me." Screw 'em. I do like the color combo of the new one though.

I've got a couple things on the agenda today, changing oil in the Vette is one. I didn't get that one done yesterday because I only had 5 quarts of oil. After church last night the wife and I headed to the ""city" to do our weekly grocery shopping. I picked up another 5 quart bottle. I'll have enough left over to change the Bonneville next time. Speaking of the Bonneville, changing out the plugs and wires really made a difference in the way it drives. I wish now I'd done it earlier (just turned over 100K).

Good Morning all. Today is going to be a day of recuperation. Yesterday I got up at 4:30 was on the road at 5 and by 6:45 a.m. I was slaving over a hot griddle. Since we were short handed, I was runing up to 3 griddles at a time until 6:30 p.m. Long day, hard work, but a lot of fun. The amazing thing is, we made thousands of pancakes and I didn't see Jesus, Mary or even Elvis on a single one of them.

I hear you on the Stealerships...but these guys were a fun bunch and it never got tense. Ugirl and I only had to stand up to leave once and then it went real quick....It always helps when you laugh at them.....

Day of rest? Not for us. Bought 50 dragonfruit plants for us and have to deliver another 50 more to one of our clients. Already sold three out of the first truckload to a neighbor. 25 gallon pots around 150 lbs per plant. I'm helping a little. Trying to avoid the heavy lifting. My back is just not in it. There is no timeclock in the plant nursery business. You work when there is work. That's pretty much everyday. I'm tying off the plants to the fences with wire to help keep them standing. Party is over. Back to work. The first year of retirement was my best year of retirement. LOL

Howdy! The day is off to a lazy start, but there's plenty of work to do. Hopefully the weatherman will be a little more accurate today - yesterday he wasn't within a hand grenade. Sounds like you had a nice, relaxing couple of days there, Matt - LOL! Marcus, nice deal on the replacement truck, ya done good!

Speaking of which, was up all night coughing still but managed to roll out at 10 am to get woke up, supposed to have had gym at 1. Trainer just texted and he's hung over so we'll get at it this afternoon. I just had to laugh out loud at him. I did that three weeks ago and he made me work out anyway. I'm gonna holler a lot when I get in there this afternoon he he he..
But, for now I'm gonna go get in my lawn chair, put on my tanning oil and grab a beer and take a nap.

Just got back from the big city where we ate lunch. Some really great places to eat there and everyone wanted to go to Reddddd Robinnnnnn....mmmmmmmmm. We are a sophisticated bunch....

Then we went over to Scheels to get Uboy a Colt M40 22 cal rifle and since he is 18 now I thought I would let him do it. He filled out the form and they ran the check or whatever when the guy noticed his drivers license expired today. So that shut the whole thing down. Then when I tried to buy it they would not let me because they knew I was buying for him which was illigal......it pissed me off. I said how do they know that I'm not buying it for me not him....but they wouldn't budge. I still don't get that part of it. Next week we will go back unless I find one somewhere else....Scheels is on my list right now....

On the way home the active handling kept kicking off the cruise control. It is very windy and 90 degrees but I did not get that either....turned the AH off and it was fine....

Now it is nap time and I finally had to turn the air on in the house.....

Well after nearly a year, my wife gets her washer/dryer pedestal. They wanted over $500 for the ones that are "made" for them. I used scrap materials, except for the drawer slides, and made this one for nearly nothing. The wife is happy.

anyway, got some flowers planted, got a tan, got a buzz, been a pretty good afternoon. Never got the car washed. Oh well. Can't drive it if I'm holding down the lawn chair doing 12 oz curls anyway... And it's gonna rain tuesday. It'll keep.
Yeah, FB is foul sometimes but I do have 'real' friends and family there so I stay. But, so much for trying to take up for a friend. I see that he yanked his posts also. Or she did, not sure. I did send him a private message and told him how the cow eats the cabbage. He messaged back apologizing for his immaturity shown. Ok, fair enough.

It changed for me when I figured out that those friends were always "busy" when I needed some help.

And that once you do the work for free they expect it to always be free.
Or the friends/neighbors that want to use your jackstands/tools and won't even commit to morning or afternoon......and then don't even show up at all, like you can stand around in your garage all day waiting for them to get off their ass.

Kinda like why I don't loan tools out anymore.

I'd still work on relatives stuff (cause you almost have too) or I'd work on 99% Guru's stuff for free.

But the rest is $50 per hour.

I agree, Bill. I don't do work for "acquaintance" type friends unless it were a corvette I don't loan tools, either, expect to very close folks.
