Greetings! Thursday already, and I'm way behind on my nap quota for the week. Not so hot here - there's talk of frost again in the next couple of days. I guess 50's and sunny is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, but still...

Enjoy your day, everybody!

Howdy!

I was up at the crack of dawn playing with some computer updates. I swear, the computer has a mind of its own. Sonny boy called me. He likes to chatter on his day off. He equates it with spending time with me. I'm not a phone person.

Me: Hi , How's it going? Good? OK! Well it's great to hear from you. Take care now.

Them: this that the other thing.

Me: Aha! Ya, aha! Ya. OK then, aha, ya, yep. Alrighty then.

It's a really nice morning outside. I'm gonna clean up the house a little and maybe work on the laundry room/garage door frame a little and get it ready for paint. Boating season for the most part is here. Time for me to shift my priorities to DNBFS. Car rides and boat rides need to start making top priority. Next week looks pretty good. I think I only have one delivery day. Whoo Hoo!

DIFFERENT WAYS OF LOOKING AT THINGS

Two guys were discussing popular family trends on sex, marriage, and family values.

Bill said, 'I didn't sleep with my wife before we got married, did you?'

Larry replied, 'I'm not sure, what was her maiden name?'

___________________________________________

A little boy went up to his father and asked:
'Dad, where did my intelligence come from?'

The father replied. 'Well, son, you must have got it from your mother, cause I still have mine.'

___________________________________________

'Mr. Clark, I have reviewed this case very carefully,' the Divorce Court Judge said, 'And I've decided to give your wife $775 a week,'

'That's very fair, your honor,' the husband said. 'And every now and then I'll try to send her a few bucks myself.'

___________________________________________

A doctor examining a woman who had been rushed to the Emergency Room, took the husband aside, and said, 'I don't like the looks of your wife at all.'

'Me neither doc,' said the husband. 'But she's a great cook and really good with the kids.'

___________________________________________

An old man goes to the Wizard to ask him if he can remove a curse he has been living with for the last 40 years.

The Wizard says, 'Maybe, but you will have to tell me the exact words that were used to put the curse on you.'

The old man says without hesitation,
'I now pronounce you man and wife.'

___________________________________________

A blonde calls Delta Airlines and asks, 'Can you tell me how long it'll take to fly from San Francisco to New York City ?'

The agent replies, 'Just a minute.'

'Thank you,' the blonde says, and hangs up.

___________________________________________

Moe: 'My wife got me to believe in religion.'

Joe: 'Really?'

Moe: 'Yeah. Until I married her I didn't believe in Hell.'

___________________________________________

A man is recovering from surgery when the Surgical Nurse appears and asks him how he is feeling.

'I'm OK. But I didn't like the four letter-words the doctor used in surgery,' he answered.

'What did he say,' asked the nurse.

'Oops!'

___________________________________________

The graveside service just barely finished, when there was massive clap of thunder, followed by a tremendous bolt of lightning, accompanied by even more thunder rumbling in the distance...

The little old man looked at the pastor and calmly said, 'Well, she's there.'

Good Morning CGs!

I was sort of lazy yesterday. I didn't start landscaping as soon as I wanted. The new landscaper we are going to hire to do the dirty work came over around 5:30 to give us an estimate on doing edging, tar paper, installing rocks, removing a stump. Good price so we're going with him. I just don't have the time or energy anymore to do everything we need. We are going shopping later to order new rock ourselves for the front yard to be delivered next Saturday. So that means I still need to remove the white rock from the front of the house and break up the walkway to replace an 8 foot section that sank and cracked. Always something. After he left I spent about 2 hours pulling out three large bushes on the side of the house. We'll replace those with a few rose bushes and some hastas, apparently. Still need to get the rest of the rock removed from the back yard, too. We will replace that with MULCH. Yes, Tommy, red mulch (or perhaps the free stuff from the local tree cutting services). I read your link about toxic wood and that applies to recycled pallets from 10 years ago, so we aren't worried. Nowadays the red mulch is dyed with non-toxic stuff that doesn't leach. And we like the look.

Best part about yesterday was I got my new Melrose top! It is a beautiful piece. I am very happy with the quality of it. I should have done it a year ago, but you know how that goes. I'll probably order some weatherstripping from them too at a later date when I scrape up some dough. It is very soft and pliable compared to the crap I have on there now.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

It's your yard. You can put whatever stuff you want in it. Recycled mulch is cool, or assorted natural wood mulches. I just can't stand the crappy looking red died wood chunk stuff they call mulch. JMO Do it. It'll give you something to rake up and dispose of next Spring after the thaw. Don't forget ...... Pics.

I'm leaning towards recycled tree chippings from a local company -

1) it's not dyed so I don't have to worry about my wife complaining it faded (she'll find something else to complain about)

2) it's free

Excellent advice.

I gave some thought to moving rocks, buying mulch and planting grass.

I'm really glad I thought about it.

I feel much better now.
