Just discovered my ban was lifted from 'Corvette Forum .. So just thought I would check in to see what I missed since I insulted some good old boy in his recliner, talking sh-t' he had no clue about. Anyway here is one of first posts I missed: " 1986 Corvette
I have just acquired a 1986 Corvette with a carbureted (chevy 350) I believe. It seems to be a wiring nightmare and I really need advice, schematics, and or wiring diagrams. The cooling fan seems to come on with the key turned to ON position. It has a fusible link. The ignition switch does not start the car. The switch must be in ON position,(fuel pump can be heard, seems to be hooked to fuel pressure regulator under hood) then flip toggle switch(PNK wire with fusible link I think), then I have to press a button to start the car. Is there a simpler way to wire this up so the switch can crank the car. I really appreciate any advice, and or help. God bless.

WOW! I sure miss that Forum !!

You can't tease us like that...we need some of the 'help' he gets. Sometimes it's better than the predicaments the new member originals posters find themselves in.

By the way, I discovered where 'he' lives.

Sounds like a tough problem that guy will face. Good luck to him. Luckily there are still a few knowledgeable people over there, you just have to deal with the sarcastic remarks, "do a search", and misinformation that plagues the posts.

Ok. My name is Stig. My dad gave it to me. So here is the story: I was born in Denmark. My dad was so happy he had a new son he rode his bicycle all over Aalborg yelling "I have a son". When he arrived at church to baptize me, he was so drunk he forgot what they were to name me. 'Seriously' .. he recalled a famous Viking. 'Stig Maersk' .. So I am now 'Stig' I have lots of fun video's .. just hope I don't get banned!!!!!!!!

here's one for you...

WTF.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

What The Fuck.

The wife of a forum member, whilst looking over his shoulder, saw the phrase, WTF and asked, "what does that mean?" So he answered her... and she freaked out.

SHE banned him from going to CF, she reached out to the admins and went all Puritan on them, outlawing the phrase on CF for several months,

That is how touchy they get over there... then again, at least one person left here because the language was "too salty."

I suggested he grow some Internet Skin...

what really got me was how quickly CF caved.

I once posted at a jeep forum... they were run with the same basic mentality of CF, to be honest.

I asked a tech question, and I paraphrase:

"I am trying to fix a leak in my PS system on my 93 Cherokee. Where are the most common leak points?"

You know, a basic tech question, trying to nail down what parts to get, where to look...

I get replies like this:

"look for the wet spot"

"yes."

After a few of those, I lit off on them a touch, again, paraphrasing:

"Oh, these are most helpful answers. your damned site is mroe concerned with editing cuss words than its members are in giving any advice. I asked a basic question, and I get smart assed replies... and I can't type a.s.s. without getting around the damned censor!"

The mod then comes in and jumps in MY shit for being a prick.

I lit him up and have never been back.

"we are a family site..."

BULLSHIT. How many 12 year olds have jeeps?

I prefer to call this a site for grownups. A place where adults can be comfortable knowing that someone isn't watching over there every word.

HaHa' ..

Ok, to follow up' .. I moved back to Minnesota after 35 yrs. in SoCal. First thing I did was join COM. "Corvettes of Minnesota". http://www.corvettesofmn.com/ .. Officially the first Corvette Club in the country. It is now small club, but best is I am younger member 'HeHe' .. Formed 1960.

A few of us guys still race. Bill H. (President) was 3d. NCCC last I heard, fun for a bunch of old guys. Feel free to join us at COM. You don't have to live in Minnesota.!!

OK, when I first arrived back in MN. (Sept) I raced with local clubs at small autocross at Midway Stadium. First all roads were closed to stadium in am. So I ended up downtown St. Paul. Mind you it was 32º early am. I was on slicks. I was trying to check GPS. and a guy pulled up behind me and honked. Lucky top was off, so I could signal him .. Just one Finger.'

I ended up at spaghetti junction, on freeway wrong way. Anyway, I found Midway stadium, late for drivers meeting. My group was first up. So I had no idea of course. I took off through timing lights and went sideways. Small and slick even without the ice.

Imagine my surprise when the announcer said I needed a driving instructor' .. Lucky for me Don from COM was there. We laughed and I tried to find course, but 400+hp. on slicks on ice and small parking lot, Crikey" .. Oh, it was my B-Day night before, imagine my hang-over. Rather than run over spectators .. I retired.

So anyway, to make a long story short.' I was embarassed to say the least, but Don and I were able to laugh at it!

Best_'S'

That's one area where I mimic the forum... HCF is perfectly ok, but... no links, must be uploads and no overt nudes.

I don't want us to be blocked at work, either. And sex images, linked back to known porn sites will do that.

I'm with Bill...frequent the RR section over there and once in a blue moon hit the C4 tech section but it inevitably makes me angry so why bother?

I tried to get involved in the C6 section since I have one now, but it's all posts about what camshaft. Seriously, one after another only broken up by vendor posts. Since vendors can peddle in more than just the FS forums things have gone horribly wrong. As if that place needed more garbage.

I still like it here better, but I'm not so "forum active" these days.

Don't tempt me....
They make it a point that they don't like women over there. One dude started a woman bashing thread that got way nasty and of course, I put my two cents in, he got awful and so did some other members. A couple of my friends from another forum chimed in for me but this dude and others kept on and on and on. I tried to not say too much and not be very ugly, sure didn't want to look like him. I ended up getting a PM telling me that I needed to shut my mouth and "keep my head down" in that post if I knew what was good for me. That right there kind of did it for me. A forum that is that blatantly against women and would go to such lengths to allow members to openly bash in a thread for numerous pages and not shut it down but yet shut down other threads for much less is bullshit. I hate to see how they treat their wives and daughters at home not to mention their coworkers or others. God forbid they have mothers or sisters in their lives. I felt very unwelcome and hated simply because of my gender after all that shit and the only time I've been back is if I was looking for an information thread for something.

I think we have a section like that here, but unfortunately only 3 people ever post there.

Let's put a pool together for a free first track day for any guru member over 1,000 posts.

Yea, excitement scares some.

When I hit the Ca. Lotto, I'm going to rent a track for the Inaugural Guru Fest.

Very few arguements there, very few asswipes. And some good info.

Hell, I haven't been on the C4 section in 3 years, there's nothing there anyway.

hello gents, I just picked up a 2013 C6, in sunset orange, but i was wondering, where can I purchase numbers-matching floormats for it? I'm worried about hurting my investment.

Alternative C4 thread:

Hellow Gents, I just picked up a 1984 numbers matching Corvette (with ZR1 emblems) in tan and grey primer...

I am wanting to know what I can do to make it faster than a new ZR1...

My budget is 5cents....

"I have $1000 to spend, how can I get 600 HP from my 30 year old car? It has to be reliable and get better gas mileage. It also has to beat my buddy's 2009 Camry which has more HP in stock form."

Blondie, that's nuts. There is a lot of douchbaggery there, sure, but it's proportional to the amount of douchebaggery on the internet in general. But sexism? I wouldn't have seen that coming. Unbelievable.

When did they start an "alternative lifestyles" forum over there?

I'm with Bill...frequent the RR section over there and once in a blue moon hit the C4 tech section but it inevitably makes me angry so why bother?

I tried to get involved in the C6 section since I have one now, but it's all posts about what camshaft. Seriously, one after another only broken up by vendor posts. Since vendors can peddle in more than just the FS forums things have gone horribly wrong. As if that place needed more garbage.

I still like it here better, but I'm not so "forum active" these days.

Somebody should post the link to Carlin's "seven words you can't say on TV"

I don't why anyone would pick on a woman like you that invites men over to wash her car and if they do a go she might cook them dinner. I feel special to have another woman treat me like my 7 sisters have all my life. No brothers.

Geez... Letty, I would have laid into those sexist bastards with so much piss and vinegar, they would have had to ban me, then explain why they banned me and not the shit head who started the thread!

The thread wasn't aimed at me but at women in general. One member just simply hates women for whatever reason and others chimed in, you heard it from both sides.
And, given things I'd been through maybe I had my heart on my sleeve a bit too, but I hated to see some peeps actually felt like that about women. It all started over someone wondering if women liked the C4 or not...
And yes Istter - you can come wash the car and I'll cook dinner LOL!
Seriously - I don't make a habit of inviting people over to wash the car and me cook - I try to take care of things myself. I take care of the car the truck, my apartment, yard, kiddie pool, look after the cousin in the nursing home, I work I try not to ask anyone for help or be a mooch. when in a relationship, I pull my weight and do my share. Have a wide variety of interests and tend not to be a nag or the jealous type unless provoked. All the comments in that thread were insults lodged at women for all sorts of things related to all that. I'm pretty open minded and can take a lot of things jokingly, but a couple things hit my nerve. His momma would have done best to have let that run down her leg.
