Good morning gurus.

Well the new C7 was unveiled last night. I like what I see so far. I may have to take a trip to Detroit this weekend and see it in person.

We went from almost 60 yesterday to the teens this morning. I guess winter is still here.

Lets all try to have a good day.

Good Morning

It's another bright, sun shiny day here in south Florida. We've been in a winter heat wave since before the New Year, Temps sliding into the 80's almost everyday. Haven't had any appreciable rain in weeks. The lows haven't got out of the high 60's. This is not the norm. We've already broken some high temp records on several days. No changes expected through mid week with possible showers Friday or Saturday. Just in time for the start of our vacation.
I'm gonna go see if I can pull some strings and get some wedding invitations hand cancelled. The USPS doesn't really do that anymore. Gonna take the 83 911 and stretch it's legs out a little. It's about an hours worth of driving to my old workplace. There are no loyalties in the Post Office. As a retiree, they will put me off as fast as the next guy. I have to play the friend card. Still, when it comes to rules. The rules are the rules even for your mutha.

Good Morning CGs!

Cooooold here this morning, I have the car warming up. There was a sheet of ice on it yesterday morning, not much has changed.

Have a wake after work today for a friend, always a somber time.

Hope everyone has a great day!

What's the status on the rebuild for the other one?

I've been trying to be tactful. Maybe I'll stop off and pay him a visit. Engine was completed, clutch and tranny are mounted. Fuel pumps were removed and the tank was drained. Really, all that needs to be done are new hydrolic slave cylinder lines, install the fuel pumps, get it turned over and running, then work on the brake system. I know he stays busy with other cars and the 928 was a work on it on the side project but he's putting it off. If he needed money he'd be all over it. So close yet so far away. We don't need the car but it would be nice to have it under the carport. All I can say is it's gonna be more sooner than later. If I get to pushy he'll just say "Do you want to take the car out of here?" Ah, no! Just want it finished.

Masantos ya kabuasan ed sikayo.

Mother Nature is being stingy with the degrees again this morning - we may get up to double-digits if we're lucky. Ick. On the other hand, I haven't had to mow the lawn or trim the shrubbery for a while.

I imagine it'll be some time before I see a C7 in the flesh, so I'll reserve judgement until then. From the pics, I thought the interior looked nice, but the exterior may take a while to grow on me. That protruding section on the lower door looks like a potential road rash collection site.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Matt.

Have a good day, all!

Its 4 degrees here and luckly no wind...or it would be brutal....I have Orlando temps on my phone and have been seeing those 80 for awhile..Pheonixs has not been that warm at all...but anywhere is warmer then this....

The C7 was anti-climatic for me....the leaks that have been coming at us were all fairly right on so it was like I had seen it all before. I have a pic on my screen saver now of a dark grey one with non painted wheels and I like the looks of it a lot better then the red with black wheels...I am sure the car will be a Ten Best for several years if it handles like they say it does....I do like the C4ish cockpit style interior....all in all I feel pretty good about my C6 GS.....

Let's get out and get some work done today Guru's.....

Morning guys....at school already and it's cold here too. Maybe it will warm up later in the week. I like the new Corvette. It was quite a production, the unveiling. I will hold my total feelings until I see one in the flesh, but so far, I like the looks. The lines are harder, more like the Cadillac CTS, a chiseled look.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Matt.

Tommy - you could be nice and send some of that weather up here to me. It's rained for a danged week here and now it went from a nice a warm topless weather kinda day the other day to a frozen mid20-s here this morning. I HATE living here.

I liked most of the chiseled looks of the new Vette but am not a fan of that huge gaping catifsh mouth from the Camaro part bin along with the taillights from the same, in addition to the Honda hatchback. The rest of it I'll give it a 15 on a 1-10 scale....

Have a few errands to run today then supposed to get my Vette computer tuned after dinner. We'll see what happens with that. The house is all in order so I can relax tonight.

How long until an aftermarket company makes a plug and play tail panel with round led lights for the C7? Sounds like a winner to me.

One rumor is that a redesign is already being considered, just a rumor.

But considering that we have a Caddy front end and a Camaro rear end...it's probably a good idea.

My wife decided she wanted to extend irrigation to other parts of the back yard and plant about 30 large plants and trees. What's the first thing that happens? The trencher cuts right through the power supply line to the water pump. Now there are 30 huge holes in the yard that must be planted and filled ASAP so the pigs don't fall in and a 100+ foot trench that needs irrigation piping and risers. Then all the excess soil and rock has to be spread. Funny how all of a sudden my name is getting called more frequently. Once again her project becomes our project. I don't recall volunteering. Then again, most husbands don't. They get volunteered.

I must admit, I started thinking of ways to secure a 2014. I hate depreciation though, so I guess it'll just have to wait a few years. Till then I'll just have to live with what I gut.

Yeah..there won't be any bargins early on. It will take awhile to get some on the ground and year end supply to get dealers to start dealing....meanwhile you can still get some great deals on a late model C6....

A C5 owning buddy of mine just called me. He asked me a question about hazing on his top. I gave hime the rundown on stripping the wax, clay barring and as a last resort, compound and waxing. I scared myself with the detailed instruction I gave him. It was almost as if I had slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Of course, repainting the top is his least preferrable option. $$$

So they can all stand with their arms crossed and stare at their cars.

We invited the Reno Corvette Club to the racetrack, they crossed their arms, discussed wax, had a BBQ and went for a 50mph lap at lunchtime behind the pacecar.

My wife walks with a woman that is a weapons collector. Guess what she doing this month? Yep. The Python Challenge. My neighbor, a biologist, works in the python tracking program. They track the smaller ones to which brings them to the bigger ones. They're just one of many non native species here. If you don't care for crawly things or things that go bump in the night, this part of Florida isn't for you.
